Yes they would!

message 54: by Jolien (new)

Jolien (joliendekoninck) | 69 comments Read "The Jedi Path". It's basically a handbook for Force sensitive people and instructs them in their careers from Initiate to Jedi Master. Loved it.

message 55: by Shannon (new)

Shannon | 1 comments Would Hester and then The Scarlet Letter work for these two prompts?

message 56: by Holly (new)

Holly Whapham (xhollyj) | 2 comments The Fall Back Plan by Melanie Jacobson

message 57: by Jens (new)

Jens (jensjot) | 5 comments Shannon wrote: "Would Hester and then The Scarlet Letter work for these two prompts?"

Personally I would say they're not a match for these prompts - the characters in "Hester" don't exist in the same world as those in "The Scarlet Letter", they don't meet (as far as I can tell).

BUT importantly, if you think they're close enough, go for it! The two books are certainly related, so I could see how they'd work here.

(I'm probably going to read two comic books set in the main Marvel universe.)

message 58: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (mlc69) | 64 comments I read Property of the Mountain Man : Montana Mountain Men #1 by Gemma Weir . Reading Owned by the Mountain Man for prompt #29.

message 59: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Bysterveldt | 21 comments I’m reading The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams for this prompt. And The Bookbinder of Jericho for the related prompt. The author says they are not a series but some characters and places overlap between the two books.

message 60: by Linda (new)

Linda Sadler | 25 comments Amanda M Lee writes paranormal romance series. All her series have cameos and overlap except the Avery Shaw mysteries.
Her books are included on Kindle Unlimited.
Here are the series that overlap or have cameos:
Wicked Withes of the Midwest
Moonstone Bay
Two Broomsticks Gas & Grill Witch
Charlie Rhodes
Spell’s Angels
Mystic Caravan
Death Gate Grim Reapers
Aisling Grimlock
Luna Thorn
Covenant College
Living Covenant
Dying Covenant

message 61: by Ketutar (new)

Ketutar Jensen | 14 comments So, I checked out the StoryGraph challenge, and someone had put it
The Spellshop
Station Eleven
The Sisters of the Winter Wood
and I wonder what is the pair of these books?

message 62: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Rhoda | 10 comments Rules of Civility by Amor Towles

A Table for Two by Amor Towles

Both feature Eve’s story.

message 63: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Rhoda | 10 comments The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

Deep End features “cameos” of Dr. Adam Carlsen and Dr. Olive Smith, who were MCs in The Love Hypothesis.

message 64: by Ron (new)

Ron | 122 comments As a creative interpretation, any non-fiction read would technically be set in a shared universe. Or you could read two memoirs by people in the same movie/experience, like Harry Potter's Tom Felton, Alan Rickman, or Evanna Lynch

I've been trying to think of books for this prompt, but seeing this part in the main post certainly clarifies things up a bit.

Based on that logic it would be like reading OTH's Hilarie Burton Morgan and Bethany Joy Lenz's memoirs.

I'll try to see what I can come up with based on that.

message 65: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Jo | 13 comments Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb

message 66: by Beth (new)

Beth Williams | 2 comments I'm unreasonably excited to realize I can read some of my childhood favorites to meet these two prompts! Madeleine L'Engle wrote two series, and there are a couple of low-level characters that cross over between the two. While I am going to read all of both series (because, of course I am), my crossover character will be Zachary Gray and he appears in An Acceptable Time and A Ring of Endless Light. Technically the prompt says standalone books, but....they can theoretically stand alone, so I'm calling it good.

message 67: by Ron (new)

Ron | 122 comments Okay figured out my two books for these prompts:

Book 1

The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs: A New History of a Lost World

message 68: by Grace (new)

Grace Haddon | 6 comments In the introduction to The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix states that it takes place in the same neighbourhood as My Best Friend's Exorcism, a few years after. I don't know if any of the same characters appear but the two stories do share a universe so I will be reading those.

message 69: by Nike (new)

Nike | 51 comments I've read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and discovered that there's also a short story in the same universe: How the Marquis Got His Coat Back!

message 70: by Nicole Green (new)

Nicole Green (nicolegreen86) | 4 comments I read The One by John Marrs soo good!!

message 71: by Kateri (new)

Kateri | 17 comments Shelley Shepard Gray writes Amish based books. One series is the "Seasons of Sugarcreek" and another series is "Return to Sugarcreek." I could read "Spring's Renewal" from the Seasons of Sugarcreek and "Hopeful" from the Return to Sugarcreek because they are from two different series.

message 72: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (booklover70) | 107 comments “Silent Creed” by Alex Kava shares a universe with her Maggie O’Dell series. This is book 2 of the Ryder Creed series. They are amazing! Maggie, an FBI profiler, comes to help Creed solve the deaths of several people. Creed and his dogs are so wonderful! Read the books!

message 73: by Lori (new)

Lori (sigkaplori) | 15 comments Would a book from the Outlander series for this category?

message 74: by Kristi (new)

Kristi C. | 117 comments I read Once Upon a Wardrobe by Patti Callahan.

message 75: by Phil (new)

Phil | 101 comments Many of Stephen King's books share his Prime Earth universe.
I read It for the first book of the crossover universe topics(Read March 3rd;4*) The book features Dick Halloran as a young soldier who saves Will Hanlon from the fire at The Black Spot. Will is the father of Mike Hanlon, a member of the Loser's Club
Dick Halloran is a major character in The Shining which is my second book of the crossover universe.
Also note that an adult Mike Hanlon appears in Insomnia, so another crossover happens there

message 76: by SaraBeth (new)

SaraBeth (mrsmoosepants) | 2 comments What book would The Outsiders by Stephen King work with?

message 77: by Brother Stephen (new)

Brother Stephen | 168 comments The Iliad by Homer (shares a universe with Troy by Stephen Fry) Both are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

message 78: by Krista (last edited Mar 24, 2025 06:28PM) (new)

Krista Dockery | 52 comments I read The Face of Deception book 1 in the Eve Duncan series (My favorite series!)

message 79: by Erin (new)

Erin | 1 comments I've been reading the Elfhame novels by Holly Black. I think "The Stolen Heir" duology would be considered more of a crossover than a sequel since they take place a decade afterwards and focus on what had previously been side characters in that world.

Maybe if I get a chance to read "The Darkest Part of the Forest" I'll use that instead, since it's the same world but focuses on original characters.

message 80: by Holly (new)

Holly Koster (howieann) | 129 comments I just finished 11/22/63. I'll use It for #29

message 81: by Linzi (new)

Linzi Meldrum | 19 comments I read Land of Silence by Tessa Afshar

message 82: by Zoë (new)

Zoë (escapinginpaper) | 59 comments I chose to read Tithe by Holly Black. Not only does it share a universe with her Folk of the Air series, and The Stolen Heir Duology, but its "sequel", Valiant, is more of a companion than a true sequel, I believe.

message 83: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 94 comments I read The Candle Shop of Wicks and Whimsy by Andrea J. Severson.
This is a Kindle Unlimited small town romance, part of the Independent Hearts series. Each book in the series is a stand alone novel, following one individual female character who is a business owner in the small town.
This series also shares the same universe as the author's other series, Across the Pond. I will be reading the first book in that series for the crossover.

message 84: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Foxton (fivetwofoxton) | 99 comments I read Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid. For the other prompt, I'm going to read Evidence of the Affair, but The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Daisy Jones and the Six, and Carrie Soto is Back would all work.

message 85: by Michele (new)

Michele Olson | 517 comments I read Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire (so very good), and the main character talks to her brother, who is the main character in another book.

message 86: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra George | 79 comments I read “Immortal” by Sue Lynn Tan. It is set in the same Universe as the Celestial Kingdom Duology.

message 87: by Elspeth (new)

Elspeth (elspethm) | 49 comments Interesting that technically so many romance series would fit into this prompt (at least according to a couple of posters on this thread that mentioned different books in a series - for example The Neighbor Favor and the next book about a different sister). I was agonizing about this prompt but I've read so many romance series this year that are standalone, but are part of a series.

Also someone else mentioned retellings, not sure if those count, but I will be reading 3 different books based on Jane Austen's Persuasion so I'm going to use 2 of those.

If I hadn't read most of these series already I'd suggest Carian Cole's books. Most take place in the same area in New Hampshire. And if you read Don't Kiss the Bride, the MMC Jude runs into Asher from Asher at a bar near the end. That was a fun cameo.

message 88: by Donna (new)

Donna | 18 comments Plain Murder by Emma Miller.

Amish fiction. I plan to read another Amish fiction story (not the same series).

message 89: by Trace (new)

Trace | 44 comments I read one of the books from the Pages & Co series, Tilly and the Lost Fairytales by Anna James. Lots of scope for the follow-up novel.

message 90: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Crowe | 12 comments For prompts 28&29, how do you know which books go together? Will they be written by the same author?

message 91: by Carol (new)

Carol (cquan01) | 589 comments For this prompt I read Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow. Excellent! 5 stars

For Prompt 29 I plan on reading John Adams by Jon Meacham. I am pretty sure some of the characters will appear in both biographies (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, etc.)

message 92: by Anna (new)

Anna (annushka79) | 18 comments “my grandmother asked me to tell you she’s sorry” by fredrik backman. wonderful book that made me cry

message 93: by Margaret (new)

Margaret Buddy | 28 comments for 28 and 29 Im reading Love,Life, and Elephants An African Love Story by Dame Daphne Sheldrick along with A Cry From The Wild A Tale Of Two Orphans by Lissa Ruben. Both books feature Daphne her love of rescuing baby elephants and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

message 94: by Ketutar (new)

Ketutar Jensen | 14 comments Hi!
I asked this in February, I don't know if I ever received an answer:

Someone had put in
The Spellshop
Station Eleven
The Sisters of the Winter Wood
in the StoryGraph challenge, and I wonder what would be the pair of these books?

message 95: by Ketutar (new)

Ketutar Jensen | 14 comments I have finally decided:

Unnatural Magic
and The Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry

It would be amazing to have a REAL crossover... with two different authors writing about two different characters in the same universe who just happen to be in the same adventure... like... T. Kingfisher, Travis Baldree and Sarah Beth Durst co-op would be amazing!

message 96: by Skye (new)

Skye (skye_jenner) | 1 comments I'm going to read Urban Allies edited by Joseph Nassise. Its ten short stories, each written by 2 urban fantasy authors and each story is a crossover...

message 97: by Sharan (new)
