╰┈➤ Aster is incredibly charismaticrizz lordand knows how to turn on the charm when needed. Whether it’s disarming an opponent with a flirtatious comment or getting out of tricky situations, she’s always ready with a clever remark or a well-timed joke. Her wit is sharp, and she often uses humor as a defense mechanism to mask any vulnerability or insecurity. Aster has learned to rely on herself to get by, whether navigating through a high-stakes issue or managing her personal life. She doesn’t like to depend on others, often preferring to do things her way—fast, efficient, and with a bit of flair.
╰┈➤ Much like her Marvel counterpartBLACK CAT MY BELOVED OUGHH, Aster walks the fine line between hero and anti-hero. She's no stranger to bending the rules, but she does have a moral code. She won’t take from the innocent or put someone in harm’s way without reason. Aster's also got a soft spot for the underdog, often rooting for the people who are overlooked or mistreated by society. Her empathy is her greatest strength and her most dangerous vulnerability.
∘₊✧──────────────────────────────────────────────────✧₊∘「 powers 」
╰┈➤ Primary Power: "Shadow Claws"
Aster’s Shadow Claws are a manifestation of her lunarhaha get it...I'm Lunar...-based powers. When activated, sharp, ethereal claws materialize around her hands and feet, glowing with a faint silvery or shadowy hue. These claws are light as air but razor-sharp, capable of cutting through virtually any material—whether it's steel, glass, or maybe even magical barriers.
╰┈➤ Secondary Power/Heightened Ability: "Kitty Agility"
Aster's agility is almost superhuman, thanks to her connection to the moon and her innate feline instincts. This power grants her incredible flexibility, speed, and reflexes, turning her into a blur of motion.

She's always wearing dark clothes, especially her black eye mask, framing her face and making her appear dark, sharp and mysterious. Aster has a slender, athletic build, the result of years of honing both physical and mental agility. She moves with a natural grace, as if every step is deliberate and controlled, but there’s a power to the way she carries herself.
╰┈➤ In short, Aster’s appearance is a captivating combination of elegance, power, and a hint of danger, all wrapped up in a polished, sleek package. Whether she’s in the council chambers or out on the town, her charismatic allure and sharp beauty make her nearly impossible to ignore.
∘₊✧── black cat/felicia hardy from marvel ──✧₊∘
∘₊✧──────────────────────────────────────────────────✧₊∘「 history 」
╰┈➤ Aster grew up in a home where appearances mattered. Her family was well-off, but the wealth came with strings attached. Her parents were distant, constantly busy with their own social ambitions and professional commitments. Aster often found herself alone, with few people to rely on. Her relationship with her parents was cold and transactional. They expected perfection, a poised daughter to complement their carefully curated lives. But what they didn’t see was the invisible pressure that wore down Aster’s sense of self.
╰┈➤ Around the time Aster was in her late teens, her world was upended. Her father’s business collapsed due to a series of bad investments, and with it, the family’s status and wealth crumbled. They were forced to move out of their luxurious home and into a much smaller apartment. Aster’s parents, who had always been emotionally distant, became even more estranged from each other. Her humor became sharper, a tool to mask her insecurities, and she began to hone her ability to talk her way out of almost any situation. She realized that people were easier to deal with if they liked her—so she made sure they did.
╰┈➤ By the time Aster was 24, she had risen quickly through the ranks. Asterath's council needed young blood, and Aster was a standout candidate: ambitious, intelligent, and charming. She was elected as a full councilor with a focus on youth engagement, economic revitalization, and social reform. In this current phase of her life, Aster is driven, capable, and powerful, but still wrestling with deep personal conflicts about trust, vulnerability, and connection. Her role as a councilor is both a victory and a challenge—a platform to wield influence, but also a place where her emotional and personal growth is constantly tested.

Zahra is determined, immoral, and somewhat ruthless. She's incredibly confident. She champions the ideal downfall of the Councilors, but also, since she knows it's probably not possible, takes pleasure in stealing from them and making people go after her. She's clever, quick, lithe, and fast on her feet, capable of defending herself. Zahra is a good liar, sly, and likes taking things that aren't hers. She has a streak of bitterness stocked up, and thinks its healthy and justified given what has happened. That said, she's not quick to anger, and is quite patient and cunning. It's just kinda there, but she won't throw a fist when someone insults her, and rather, would slyly do something or set terms for a fistfight later and get a reward off it. It's all about the items, even if someone dies.
She may be somewhat immoral, but she does really care about the people she loves, like her father. She's loyal to him, and would sacrifice everything to keep him safe and healthy. She also cares about her best friend. Zahra can be loyal to Serpentine, as she thinks they have valid reasons to be there, people who have been wronged by the law, by the upper classes, other gangs, councilors, etc. She doesn't like the nobles in Voxthain, or councilors anywhere, and likes watching them fight. She pickpockets people when she can.
She's selfless in that she doesn't care as much about herself as she does her loved ones, but she's not afraid to murder someone if they're a threat to those loved ones, herself, or some people in Serpentine. She considered joining Arachniad, because Zahra is, at heart, a thief and pickpocket, but being a Snake gives her more wiggle room when things have to go south, and besides, if someone has an assassination hit put on them, she's not afraid to do it.
Zahra doesn't flinch at blood--she doesn't have a weak stomach. She can be hardened and sarcastic, caustic, and does not flinch if it comes to doing something like torture. Not that she has, but she wouldn't really mind, given she's getting more hardened as the years pass.
She isn't moral in the sense she wants justice for the people. Sure, that'd be cool, but she cares more about her father than innocent people, who she would harm if she had to. He stuck by her, loves her, and gave her everything, so she will die for him. So, she is kind of selfish. She doesn't care though, and is not exactly known for being forgiving. She also adores shiny things, and likes stealing partially because it gives her a thrill, not always because her father needs the items.
This said, Zahra is an extrovert and hates being alone. She likes working in a team, leading a team, and behind her rough facade, making friends, so long as they understand who is in charge. Even if it's not her, she likes to pretend sometimes, and has a goal to move up in the Serpentine ranks. People fascinate her, and she likes surrounding herself with people who have also struggled but are working to overcome, people who are hurting. She gets a thrill breaking the law, of using some crazy magic, and her darker side sometimes comes out in that she doesn't do all she does just for the sake of her father's survival. She finds it amusing to hurt people with lots of trade, just to see what she can get away with. She also will do jobs for Serpentine, but cheats those people out of wealthy objects at times.
She's not very trustworthy unless it's to her father, some Serpentine members, or her best friend, and tends to double cross people. She's not insecure and has no issue calling people out. She's borderline cruel when it comes to kids; they kinda disgust her, and Zahra would have no issue taking candy from a baby and laughing. She's not the kindest, and would betray her gang if she has to. She is always tempted to kill people when she gets into fights and wins, but doesn't. Zahra is not afraid of murder, though usually it's not her go-to. She likes theft, but will murder someone if Serpentine says to, so long as it benefits her or her loved ones. She doesn't really have mercy on people and hates it when they beg.
She's not a romantic and doesn't want a relationship. She has a soft side around her father and Xavier, but even then it feels more like a mask every day. Ultimately, she's kind of selfish and dishonest, and if she does something good, chances are it's for her gain, her father, or Xavier. Screw everyone else unless they can offer her valuables, jewels, or wine. She also doesn't gamble often, but when she's desperate or in the rare mood for fun, she does.![]()

Zahra is 5' 6". She is thinner, with a lean build and muscles, and thinner facial features. She has olive-toned skin, dark brown eyes, and long, thick black hair. She has a birthmark on the top of her right foot.
She uses illusion magic to disguise herself in Serpentine until she has found the killer.Zahra was born in Asterath to a mother who was a private tutor for a wealthier family. Her father was a merchant, specializing in trading and selling spices and jewels. She thus grew up in decently well-to-do, but had no siblings and was quite isolated from others her age. It was fine at first, but Zahra got very lonely--her mother didn't let her go to Cogsworks because she insisted she was intelligent enough to homeschool her. In reality, her mother was paranoid she'd meet the gangs, as she had gang trauma Zahra didn't know yet. As such, she spent most of the time with her father.
Her mother died by a hit-and-run, by a member of Serpentine, when she was eight. Life was harder with one income, but her dad did well enough until a fire burned down the warehouse. The Issawis lost their wealth, and her father struggled to get it back over the years. It became hard to trade and earn back the items lost, as their reputation had gone down, too, when people accused him of setting fire to his own warehouse. It wasn't true, and she was furious nobody was helping her father find who had burned it. It was the first bitterness she had towards people like Councilors.
Regardless, Zahra learned how to be a merchant, to trade and barter and convince people. Her father was proud of her, but Zahra early on had a dark side to her--she found it fun to cheat people out of their money, to pickpocket customers. She didn't do it to all, just ones that gave her hardworking father a hard time, especially after the fire. Anyone who disrespected him, she would steal from, acting like the innocent child, or, as she got older, overcharging people at the stall, tricking them, and sending the items to her father's stash, and to her investigation into the fire and her mother's death. Something told her they were related. Her father was never aware of her exploits, but she refused to let them sink into poverty, to let her father be on the streets, as they loved one another.
She continued this up until she was seventeen, which by that point, her father's fortunes had improved somewhat and he had hired someone else to help run the place. But they were still not the most well off they could be, and her father was in debt. So Zahra tried to find more jobs, as a restaurant hostess, or a barkeep, but she hated the way she was stepped on or flirted with, while at one of her jobs she was caught for theft and had to knock the person out to get away from them. So she applied to work as a housekeeper in a rich person's house. It worked, and for a year, Zahra did just that. But she felt demeaned by everyone else, and when some of the male staff members, drunk one night, tried to take advantage of her, Zahra realized she was no better off than before.
But she had a lead. She had shoveled some money into records, into people investigating as spies, and murdered some of the men that tried to tae advantage of her. It was her first murder, and unfortunately, she got both thrilled and disgusted by her actions, done with a simple, sleek letter opener she'd found. But on one of their bodies, she found it--the Serpentine gang sign. It chilled her to her core because it was proof she had already been figuring out--her mother had been in the gang once, left an abusive boyfriend and the gang itself, and had been tracked down and murdered because of it.
So she fled her job in the middle of the night, used her illusions to change her appearance, and joined Serpentine, her spies telling her they believed the person responsible was alive. So, to get an audience, Zahra killed a few Arachniads who had been lurking around Serpentine's base and was welcomed into Serpentine under an alias. Over the years, she had worked on her magic, and has on tracking down her mother's murderer. She doesn't know who it is yet, but despite hating Serpentine for what they did (and she doesn't know if that action was the decision of the Head or just the actions of the killer himself), she found she liked it otherwise. Her taste for blood, hating the wealthy, and stealing could be accommodated, and she found nobody bothered her when they learned she could do someone's face in with her fists, and kill with long knives and letter openers.
So, Zahra began to take jobs for the gang, all while still searching for the culprit...and wanting him dead. She also wants to move up in the gang, the first place she found more friends. Her father thinks she works in a different city, though, and she sends him valuables whenever she can.

⠀⠀26⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀male⠀⠀⠀ asterath⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀liutenant⠀⠀⠀ bi⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀illusion/evocation
Cole is a prankster. He loves to play jokes on people, as well as flirt up anyone he can around his age. Cole is like the wind, dating a woman this weekend and a man the next, never dating someone for more than a day. He's a playboy, making one feel special only to reject them later. Deep down, this comes from a fear of getting close to people after the death of his girlfriend, the rejection from his mother and sister, and his father leaving, but it makes him rash, playful, and reckless with other peoples' feelings.
It also makes him reckless in general. Cole is an adrenaline junky who does things because they're fun, giving him a thrill. This also started because he wanted attention he was never given at home, but he also likes it. He likes to do dangerous assignments and jobs, and has fun with them.
Cole hates manners, he's a very casual person. The type to kick his feet up on his desk while speaking to a subordinate, as he doesn't like authority much so it's better for him to be in a position of authority. He's the type of person who really likes to annoy people simply because he can, and likes to seed innocent chaos. But it can get overboard at times, as he's a big partier and loves throwing Asterath parties, both when he was in school and now, with tons of magic, neon, and inventions.
You'd think by looking at him that he was all fun no brains, and he sometimes likes it that way, but it's far from true. He's skilled in math, science, magic, and tech, and likes to hide away in a workshop and tinker when he's not doing something for Asterath or working on hunting down his girlfriend's killer.
But deep down, Cole is hurting. He's the family disappointment and lost the one person who loved him. He is afraid of getting close to people, and prefers to make fun jokes, throwing parties, drinking, and tossing himself into assignments for the Night Riders than getting to know people on a personal level. So, yes, Cole can be a jackass, as well as impolite and cracking jokes at not at great times, but he can be responsible. Enough not to lose his job as Lieutenant, anyway.
He also does have a moral code. Cole refuses to kill, and refuses to beat people up unless they start the fight or are terrible people. Despite being a playboy, he only dates and has affairs with people who want to, as while he will flirt with anyone, he will stop if they tell him to.![]()
![]()
Cole has peachy skin and a lanky build. His nose is on the longer end, and his hands are larger as well. Cole has golden-blond, sun-kissed hair that is straight-wavy and brushes his shoulders, and pale/bright blue eyes. He has a birthmark on his right hand on the webbing between his thumb and pointer finger.
Cole was born one of two children of well-to-do Voxthain merchants. They were not nobility, but they were not poor, either, and often had pretty good items to trade. As such, his parents always hoped one day their family would be granted land and titles, as his parents worked hard and his twin sister was skilled at magic. His parents thus tried to give Cole the best education possible, sending him to Cogworks and making him learn the family business, trading and cataloguing goods. For non-nobles, they were quite well-to-do, and his mother firmly pushed proper manners and politeness on him and his siblings. It was ironic, really, given his mother's manners themselves were all seemingly fake. She was very much poised and elegant in public, but at home she could be very verbally cruel. She clawed for nobility she would never get so badly she took every single thing her kids did wrong and turned it against them.
Becoming noble was her one goal in life, and it destroyed the marriage of Cole's parents, as well as the relationship with most of her kids. Unfortunately, Cole's twin sister, Julianna, was very much like her mother. She was vain, poised, and saw herself as above everyone else except nobles and Councilors, both of which their mother craved with a vengeance. Cole, who used to love to play with his sister as a child, getting into innocent trouble, found himself drawing away from her, and finding himself sick to death with her and his mother hounding him to always do better, be better.
It was hard--Cole was not naturally gifted in languages or reading, and he struggled with comprehension sometimes. But he was very good at math, sciences, and magic. Still, nothing he ever did seemed to be good enough, and he, his sister, and mother would often get into fights, also because Cole had no interest in following the family business. His father divorced his mother when Cole was about ten, leaving the family behind, and to this day, he's bitter about that, and hates his father for it, feeling hurt and betrayed. His father had been distant, but he knew he'd been as frustrated with his wife as Cole had been. It left him in a den of vipers, and his mother got more savage after the fact. Always yelling, always primping. Julianna, too.
So, Cole decided to revolt against her expectations. He began to act out at home and at school, using his magic in slightly more dangerous ways, ways that he knew pissed off Voxthain's authorities. He never did enough to get arrested, but enough to anger and scare his mother and sister. He'd play pranks. Cole would stay out late at night, steal things, goof off, get chased by the police for theft. He'd make crude comments and inappropriate jokes during family dinners and meetings with clients, while also flirting with anyone his age he could, simply because of the thrill, both at home and at Cogsworks, where he felt more free because he was away from home.
Until he met Charlotte, a Night Rider, who he fell in love with. He stopped his flirtatious, playboy ways, but she was also a thrill seeker, and together, at the academy, they would host fun parties, sneak out after curfew, occasionally steal things and laugh about it. Cole was constantly late to classes to get attention he felt denied at home (and he was, his mother had always been focused on getting a title, on her business and appearance and Julianna, not him), so acting out was also a coping mechanism. But he truly was in love with Charlotte, and she loved him.
But when Cole was about seventeen, they were out in Asterath when Charlotte was killed by a Serpentine member, who left Cole gravely wounded. At first, he had no idea why she was killed, but it left him grief-stricken, more keen to acting out, and more flirtatious than ever, because having dates with different people on and off and never committing would keep him from ever getting close to someone again.
And because of his grief and bad behavior rise, Cole began to miss classes, holing up in his workshop to invent things, tinker, or use magic in a dangerous way. He failed out of the academy and was expelled, which was the last straw for his mother. She kicked Cole out of the house, and, angry but glad he never had to see her again, he left for Asterath, hoping to track down Charlotte's murderers and get involved with the Night Riders, who would let him sew chaos, be a nuisance, and use magic the way he wanted to.
So Cole left. He knew where the Night Riders were based, as Charlotte had introduced him to her family, and they had saved him when he was bleeding out on the street. They'd seen his true grief over Charlotte enough to believe he didn't kill her, and accepted Cole into the Night Riders. Before this, he found a small apartment and worked at a bar so he could get things to trade and get himself on his feet. Once he had enough, he went to the Riders, and over the next few years, Cole found he was actually right at home. He met people who were as entertaining and fun as he was, who didn't care how he used magic or what he said. These were no stuffy Voxthain nobles or noble-wannabes. It was freedom.
Cole ran wild, and was happy to do whatever the gang wanted him to so long as nobody was seriously harmed. He was happy, trying to put his past behind him. Yet, it still haunted him, because deep down, Cole was devastated his mother had kicked him out, that his sister had agreed, and that Charlotte had died. He spent time with her family, but pulled away because it was too painful, and Cole became the playboy flirt of the Night Riders. He discarded dates wherever he went, threw parties, and would retreat and work on magic and inventions. Nobody could get close to him because he'd lose them too.
He is sill trying to track down the murderer. Still, he is a fun asset to the Night Riders and fit in so well that by the time he was 23, he was promoted to a Lieutenant, and has been giving orders under the Boss for about two years now. He still has a reputation as a playboy, and a flirt, and his manners suck, but he likes what he does and is happy to help any other people who come here from Voxthain to find a place to belong.
He knows about the shadowfog, and in the back of his mind he's worried about his family, but they never tried to reach out, so why should he?

lies upon lies upon lies.
that’s who am i, is it not?
rosalind is quite… mysterious. people who look at her sisters and think they’re sneaky definitely have not come across rosalind. our lady fortune is quite the masterpiece. her cunningness is what lets her progress so far without anyone catching her. before anyone has realised that rosalind has made her move, she is already ten steps ahead of them and on her next mission. her reputation as both fortune and mina lang, a sword fighter at the ring, is quite astounding. people fear rosalind, and that’s without knowing that mina lang and fortune are the same person. rosalind always thinks ahead, and according to her, the perfect alias is one that nearly matches up perfectly to her own true story. it is harder to slip up that way. therefore, everyone knows mina lang has two sisters. they know fortune is a skilled fighter. but rosalind was never the one to fear. that’s her sister juliette. rosalind just has good brains. she’s careful, and never lets anyone get the better of her, or find out who she is. in reality, she’s a lovely girl who is kind and caring, but prioritises missions over sentiments.

rosalind doesn’t really like weapons like pistols, but will use them if she has to.
poison:
rosalind’s best weapon is poison. she poisons literally everything, from vases which can kill if you touch them, hair pins, blades, everything. it is her main choice of weapon as anyone can succumb to it, and you can’t defend yourself from it unless you know what it is. it is also untraceable, which is important for her undercover work.
blades:
rosalind uses blades as a last resort, but she is pretty skilled with them nonetheless. she doesn’t tend to use them, lest it reveal her alias as mina lang, a sword fighter at the ring. stick them with the pointy end is what she says.
༉‧₊˚. history.
i’ll make sure the world remembers me.
everyone has heard of rosalind before, but perhaps not by her true name. the snakes know of her as ‘fortune’, her code name. this code name has spread across asterath as people claim she is an assassin working for a covert branch of club serpentine, but she is just a normal snake, officially a night rider spy. rumour has made it that fortune is a double agent stationed within the night rider ranks, and naturally rosalind was called to investigate fortune, or rather, she had to investigate herself, which her sisters laughed about when she told them. and of course, rosalind ‘couldn’t find’ fortune, causing people to call her ‘lady fortune’, the one that couldn’t be found by the night riders’ best spy, so she must be as great as lady.
others know her as a completely different alias. mina lang, a sword fighter at the fighting ring. the perfect place to hear the juiciest gossip of late, and also polish her hand to hand fighting skills. no one would ever suspect her as being rosalind ivanova, a famous night rider spy, let alone lady fortune. she reports back to both scorpions and snakes, but the scorpions get limited information and believable half-truths, and snakes get everything. among the scorpions, she is known as rosalind ivanova as she wouldn’t dare let her true last name out into the open, not when her notorious sister juliette was out and about, scaring the living daylights out of people.
rosalind was born the eldest of three sisters, to a family that had just recently joined club serpentine. rosalind was naturally closer to her younger sister celia as the two were twins, but she couldn’t help but like mischievous juliette when she came along a year after they were born. the sisters had grown up fighting, and training to be true snakes, but they soon all developed different talents. rosalind’s was listening in on conversations and remembering exactly what was said in them. spying, basically. she could keep a secret, and was a good actress.
but her physical strength was lacking. therefore, when rosalind was ten, she was sent to practice to become a sword fighter. she was only supposed to be practising, and return to the snakes once her course was over, but soon she realised it was the hub of all information. she could overhear plenty to do with all sorts of gangs, and she was skilled enough to be a fighter there for a long while. therefore, she kept training, and when she was sixteen, rosalind made her debut in the ring. she loved it there.
a month or two after her debut into the ring, rosalind’s mother suddenly passed away on a mission and her father wasn’t the same anymore. a scorpion had killed her, he claimed. he became more violent, and demanded revenge for his wife. in one of his fits, he called all of his children over, and he had three innocent people captive. he told them that in order to become proper snakes, they had to learn to be ruthless. rosalind was a sword fighter, though. she killed the young boy she had without a doubt, and returned his body to his family. juliette killed hers even faster than rosalind herself, and did the same. but celia had always been the soft-hearted one, and she couldn’t bring herself to harm the little girl she had. her father threatened to kill celia’s sisters, rosalind and juliette, instead, and celia panicked. she killed their father, instead. shortly after, celia fled to the arachniads, who took her in. juliette took their father’s position, and rosalind was determined to avenge their mother, when her father couldn’t.
rosalind approached the night riders shortly after celia fled, telling them of her work at the fighting ring and why she should be their spy. a year after she joined, rosalind found the scorpion who had killed her mother, and sent juliette to finish the man off, in which she did. rosalind then found out why her mother had died - she had played the same role as rosalind herself and had been caught. her mother had been the information leak amongst the scorpions, and rosalind realised that she had to be much more careful than she had originally thought. if anyone found her still in touch with both her sisters or her true allegiance, rosalind would meet the same fate as her poor mother.

Valen is energetic and friendly. She can act like sunshine, bouncing, running through halls, and knocking stuff over by accident. She's eager to make new friends and meet as many people as possible, and in this way, she's an extravert, despite the fact that she can sometimes isolate herself when things get so overwhelming and life catches up. When this happens, Valencia pulls away and isolates herself, but never for long because she likes connection, and feels so deeply she often has to get it out of her mind by acting on impulse, drinking, doing something stupid, or kissing someone.
She has a thrill-seeking sense of adventure and loves exploring, as her sense of curiosity is strong. She was always an adrenaline junky, but that got worse, as did her love of human beings--she turned to flirting with everyone and anyone. But this was also because Valen was lonely and craved connection while also refusing to get close to people for her own safety, and because after her best friend died and having to leave her siblings for her own safety, she doesn't want to get close only to watch them die or leave, too. She wants to, though, and is typically someone who opens up easier about other problems/her feelings. But sometimes the guilt is so bad with her past, she does bad stuff to avoid it. She's bouncy, gained confidence over the years, the child Valen was quiet because she had to be, and now she has trauma and some anxiety.
Valen is also sensitive. Things will make her cry easily because she feels so deeply. She's never been afraid of showing those emotions--which her father always wrote off as "womanly, so acceptable, if not annoying", but Valen cries when people die, when she stubs her toe or hits her head on a doorframe she swore she was going to avoid, when people are sad because she can be quite compassionate. She's also a little anxious, but her confidence has grown over the years...except where her safety and her father is concerned--which she will freeze up and get more emotional and sad--and when it comes to being a leader and/or the center of attention/public speaking. She likes to follow, or annoy the leader, and then she can be as loud-mouthed as she wants, whistling her way down the hallway. She freezes up when she has to give public speeches and whatnot.
Valen can also be snappy/sarcastic as coping mechanisms when angry--she's not dumb enough to throw punches when people insult her, but she will say something witty and sharp. She's intelligent, loving math and sciences, and she's also someone who values honesty in every relationship, whether it be romantic, platonic, etc. She tries to be honest as well, unless her safety is compromised, and sees it as value. She is someone who likes to be there for her loves ones and friends and likes gift-giving as a form of affection--ie baking treats for people.
She is a bit squeamish, and feels queasy around sights of blood and bones. She's very dramatic, despite generally being good-hearted and wanting to make friends and despite being sarcastic. She tends to mean well, but when her trauma and her past come out, she gets more weepy, and when bad things happen, a little panicky and can get selfish. And sometimes when she does have big fears, or even certain things she is scared of, she will scream. She may cry. She's not that ashamed to show her emotions and her human side.
But other than that, she is trying harder to be better for her family now, to be braver when it really matters. She's ashamed of her past actions. Valencia also tends to easily forgive people. She gets annoyed at any sexist people, and may not always forgive awful people, but other than that, she does tend to give second chances and forgive pretty easily.![]()

Valencia is 5' 8", and she's muscular and quite handsome, with high cheekbones and a sharp face. She has darker-toned skin, dark brown eyes with a hint of gold, and dark brown-black hair.
Valen was born the first child to an Asterath Councilor. Her father, Mateo, was a cruel, stern, and generally unlikeable Councilor who slept around and had not taken a partner. He was angry when one of the women ended up pregnant, but wanted more control and figured a child would help his popularity in Council and among the people.
But alas, that was not the case, and from an early age, Valen found herself stunted. Her father was cruel, and hated his unruly daughter, who liked to run around, ask too many questions, and wanted to do things he didn't approve of. Mateo's parents had been killed by the gangs in an accident, so he believed Valen was acting to much like a gang member. That was partially why he tried to curtail her rambunctious behavior, but he did it with yelling and occasional beatings. So she tried to act like the perfect Councilor's daughter, stoic and quiet, so she wouldn't be harmed.
Her mother, Zuri, also started to dislike her. While she had once been a solace, Mateo kept Zuri confined to a room to control Valen, only permitting her to see her mother when she behaved. So she tried, though each visit with her mother was worse and worse, as Zuri began to blame her daughter for her confinement and mistreatment, breaking Valen's heart. The other woman her father took as a mistress had Valen's three younger siblings and was treated a lot better. Valen never knew why. The one solace she had was in the form of the son of her father's hired protection, Oren Manson.
Oren became an older brother to Valen, keeping her safe and being there when she needed a shoulder to cry on, as her mother certainly wasn't and her siblings were too young. When Valen was eight, she overheard her father and another Councilor speaking in his office--he planned to marry her off to the man's son, in hopes of keeping himself in Council, as some of Asterath's people were pressing for her father to step down. She was terrified--the son was cruel, older than her, had never been nice; sleazy and entitled.
So, with Oren's help, Valen made a hard choice. She ran away one night. She was scared and devastated to leave her siblings, but taking them with her would only cause more problems, and she vowed to come back when she was able to. Valen had a singular goal: get away from her father--and toxic mother--and join the Night Riders, who she had heard about from Oren. It seemed like the perfect place for her.
So, Oren got her in as only a child. She kept some tabs on her family, learning her father was all but pushed out of Council, her mother was dead, her father was looking for his runaway daughter. She stayed hidden in the Night Riders, none of whom cared she had left. Valen became Oren's little sister, joining his family, and Oren taught Valen self-defense--she never wanted to feel less than and weak again.
She loved pranking people, running wild through the streets of Asterath, meeting new people and just being...her. She got into Cogsworks, and had a lot of fun meeting others and learning, something her father had not really allowed her to do much of. She flourished, going on wild adventures, but always had a sense of guilt from leaving her siblings with her father and their mother, who he eventually married. She kept tabs on them, but has admittedly been so afraid of what may happen, she never went back for them, always crafting excuses: she was scared. Too weak. What if her siblings hated her?
So, to forget it all and because she had always been a thrill seeker, Valen began to drink a lot more, and to have affairs, sleeping around. She met a boy she dated at sixteen, a student from Voxthain, but when the guy found out he was bisexual, he broke up with her, leaving Valen frustrated. Her next boyfriend was the future Night Rider Lieutenant, as they had a lot in common, but wound up too similar and broke it off as friends.
But when Valen was thirteen, she lost Oren. They were walking together through the city when they were ambushed by Arachniad. Oren protected Valen from the worst of it, but both were mugged. Orem sacrificed himself, taking the worst of it, and he died after the beating, bleeding out and stabbed. Her guilt got so bad, and so did her fear for ever getting close to someone again.
So, while her drinking and her affairs got worse after that, and her thrill-seeking, so did her guilt. When her father died when she was eighteen, she thought about going for her siblings, but found herself paralyzed by terror. They hated her. She hadn't come to get them soon enough, loving her life. She didn't want to return to her childhood home that had been toxic. And she didn't want to risk losing them again. So Valen tried to shut herself away. She still has a lot of good friends, and wants to get closer, but she is afraid of letting them in too much in fear of losing them, too.
She got a job as a bartender in Asterath--she adores meeting people, making friends and being a nice if not slightly chaotic person. But she doesn't want to lose close friends, hence why she holds them at arms' length, even Cole, and even her best friend, Alex. She never recovered from Oren's death, and still does all her activities to rid herself of her guilt.
Finally, at twenty-one, Valen went to visit her siblings. It was a messy reunion, and she feels even worse about herself. They're working on a relationship--all except her sister Elena, who admittedly is bitter. Valen is trying to get through to her, though, but her guilt and cowardice can be overwhelming.Magic: Evocation/Transmutation:

everyone knows juliette, whether they would like to or not. juliette rostova, sansa chen, romeo, they’re all the same person. she is cunning and sly, and thrives in the world of deception and lies. she is one of the most dangerous snakes, and yet no one realises that she is acting until the act is over, and sometimes people still don’t link the act to her. she disguises herself to fit in, and she is every bit the spy her sister rosalind is - maybe even better. juliette knows when to listen and when to speak, and leaves enough clues behind to direct people in the wrong direction, and yet still let them know that it was her. she has many faces, but she isn’t afraid of anything, and wears each one like a solider would wear armour. she knows she can get through things and uses her extreme intelligence and quick thinking to manoeuvre and manipulate situations so everything goes her way.

she literally sleeps with a blade under her pillow. if she has run out of bullets or for some peculiar reason cannot use her guns, juliette turns to blades, and she is incredibly talented with them.
poison:
juliette would rather not use poison (that’s her sister rosalind) and it’s too secretive of a weapon to be her. juliette is playing the open game. she needs people to know that those crimes were committed by juliette rostova (and not any of her aliases). however, as a last resort, she will use it, and she poisons (nearly) all of her blades too.
༉‧₊˚. history.
sometimes even i don’t know what i’m doing until i’ve done it.
and by then, it’s nearly always too late to go back.
juliette’s identity remains a mystery to most. all the crimes she’s committed are under the name ‘juliette rostova’, her true name, but when she’s interrogating (subtly) or spying or mingling, that’s all under her alias ‘sansa chen’. sansa chen is a respectable lady of asterath and no one knows how she climbed to the top of society from nothing and even has somewhat of a reputation in voxthain. her code name is ‘romeo’(romeo and juliet, who am i kidding lol)and everyone thinks romeo is a man, so great for juliette.
born the youngest of three chaotic sisters, juliette grew up in the shadow of her sisters, and always strove to be better than them. she practised fighting extra hard, honed in on her magic with much more concentration than the twins combined and pulled the majority of the dark pranks against their parents. soon, she was the best fighter, actress, lady, infiltrator and (depending on who you ask) the best spy out of her sisters, and a valuable asset to the snakes.
when her mother died, juliette passed her father’s test very very quickly (see rosalind’s history for info), and didn’t shun celia for her choice. the three sisters only became closer, even though they were more far apart as they each pursued their own paths. juliette does miss her parents sometimes, but refuses to think about them to focus on whatever her task is. ‘sansa chen’ is often sent to spy on and infiltrate any council meetings and she often goes above and infiltrates voxthain courts. no one really knows how she manages it, but she always has her ways. she also owns a home in voxthain where her sisters can visit her discreetly and it is a relatively safe place to meet up.
aside from spying and infiltrating, juliette is also often sent to question people (as either ‘romeo’ or her true self) as she possesses the ability to make people tell the truth. and when she isn’t doing any of this work, she is often sent to do the club’s dirty work as an assassin. juliette does not mind killing and it improves her reputation as a cold, ruthless killer on the streets of asterath. juliette often leaves a petal of a white rose somewhere near the crime scene so people will know it’s her.

Taja is resourceful and determined to the point where she'd cut others down to get what she wants. Deep down, she wants affection and someone to care about her, but grew up sad and bitter from being ignored by her parents. It stuck with her.
She's talkative when she wants to be, but is also very cunning and secretive, hiding her activities from her family. They know she's a Councilor, but none of them know she's a part of Club Serpentine. It isn't like Taja is sadistic, but she's bitter to the point of it making her angry and her judgement clouded. She has a twisted view of retribution and revenge, too. After being taken into the gang, she believes they are in the right, but she's also blinded and doesn't know they're using her. Because they claim to respect and love her--and Taja craves that. They've never harmed her, not once. She claims she wants revenge on the nobility and wealthier people they attack, anyway, considering her father was too busy with politics and her mother with being a militia member. So in a way, if someone does something good for her, Taja can be quite loyal, maybe even to a fault in the sense. She wants revenge on anyone she sees is a problem. Anyone she sees as wronging someone else--noble or citizen. Taja really has her views skewed, and believes anyone who harms someone else deserves to be hurt and die, but her view of harm is also skewed. She is so bitter, but she's also sensitive and emotional, and she doesn't always have her head on straight in terms of right and wrong.
Taja is also very passionate. She's great at survival skills, and can fend for herself in terms of foods--she can hunt, knows what plants are poisoned and which are not--and thus, Taja is also someone who knows how to poison people. She does so with little to no regret, because she doesn't think people who are "bad" can be reformed, and she thinks they deserve to be killed and doesn't understand thanks to her youth that Serpentine is using her.
She's thus naive, and quite sheltered in some regards, but also feels deeply. She's quite observant and focused. Taja is impatient and stubborn, but kind of quirky and funny around the right people, those who love and appreciate her.
She's very secretive because of her membership in Serpentine, and hates anyone trying to talk her out of any decision she's made.
She craves a family and belonging, and it's blinded her. Serpentine is what she knows, and to her, she was taught anyone wronging anyone else deserves to die or just not deserve her loyalty, and she's not one to just talk it through. Her bitter self latched onto that lesson, and she hasn't let it go yet.
She's gullible. If someone shows they care about or remember her, Taja believes they mean well. It's the way her mind works after years of neglect, and while she knows deep down that she cannot be both an Asterath Councilor and a criminal, she believes Serpentine is targeting people who deserve to die, and in her mind it makes sense.
Sometimes Taja has some moral conflict, like when the target is one of her father's close assistants or advisors, but in the end she justifies it--people can make mistakes, but Serpentine care about her. So most of the time she ignores it.
With the right people Taja can be funny--her loyalty makes her always stick up for the people she loves, and she knows lots of witty jokes and enjoys making those people smile. She's also creative and tells a lot of stories to people that she comes up with on the spot.
She's also a bit clumsy--not great at close-range weaponry, and she can be so determined to prove herself she'll jump headfirst into some things without much thought. She's the type to walk into doorways by accident and trip over her own feet.![]()
![]()
She stands at 5' 0", very short, with wider brown eyes and thick black hair she always styles. She has smoother olive skin, heavy lashes, and a penchant for piercings. Taja always has her nails painted.
Taja was born the youngest child of two wealthy Asterath and Voxthain citizens. Her father was an Asterath Councilor and her mother a Voxthain militia member. However, this arrangement didn't work very well, so her parents were always in different cities unless one of them was on leave/a break. Her father was too focused on upping his wealth and on running Asterath, while her mother strutted around like a peacock, as if she was so skilled. Taja lived mostly with her father, but was sometimes shuffled to her mother when her father didn't want to deal with her or her sister, but her mother barely paid her any mind, either. Her sister, though, was the one everyone liked--she was the eldest, and their father wanted her to take his place on Council one day. Thus, Taja was often overlooked, and passed to her father's staff to raise her, or her mother's, as her mother had began hiring people to do shit for her when she got more wealth from her job.
Taja wanted to impress her parents, but it never worked. She tried to be diplomatic and learn politics from her father and tutors pre-Cogsworks, and then tried to learn physical fighting to get her mother to notice her, but neither did, too focused on her sister, Vedya, or their jobs.
So Taja learned to take care of herself--to dress herself, make food, get herself to Cogsworks when she was older. Vedya barely helped, too busy preening as she was. When Taja was eight, she moved to her mother's place in Voxthain to get away from Vedya and all the comparisons in Asterath.
Through the first few years of her life, she never managed to make either parents really focus on her. She was not a great physical fighter, always a little brash and reckless, so eager to prove herself to her mother she made adrenaline-rushed bad choices that would hurt her militia-training team in mock battles. She was also scared of blades early on, though she had no real trauma with them. She just was, but took to archery, something she liked because it was more far-range, and had good aim. So she became skilled at this, and at survival skills she picked up when she was training for the militia. She'd started excelling at lessons in Cogsworks with herbs/medications and survival skills early on because she was scared. Scared she would have to save herself in a medical incident one day, as a soldier--because in battle she may be alone, and also...if her father forgot she existed, what if the medics refused to treat her? So she had to be reliant on herself only.
She met her one friend through her training, and he became someone she was more light-hearted around, attaching herself to him. Taja did sometimes go home to see her father and Vedya, but he still was distracted.
During training, she found she came out on top at tests and skills with spycraft, tracking, and survival, and enjoyed that praise tremendously. At fifteen, she was sent on a spycraft mission in Asterath, following a militia soldier the commander believed was selling secrets to the gangs there. But, Taja was found by Serpentine, who recognized her as an Asterath Councilor's daughter. She was shocked--they knew she existed. She got emotional about it, surprising them, as Taja was secretive, but she was not good at holding in emotion when she was remembered--people who cared about her held her loyalty. They offered for her to join them, and of course they were using her: a Councilor's daughter and militia member for two different cities could access people they couldn't as easily. Could give them information, especially as she was overlooked and good at sneaking around.
She agreed because they shared what she did--a hatred of Councilors, high-ranked Voxthain individuals, and all citizens who were stuffy and did awful things to people. Of course it was twisted--she was just too bitter to understand Serpentine were hardened assassins and druggies, and they used her gullibility to their advantage, telling her they cared about her and that the people she was harming deserved what she and the others did to them.
Taja agreed, and they fed her bitterness and beliefs. She has poisoned, killed, and spied for them, but has had some conflicting morals but pushed them off because they told her she was doing good for Asterath. Besides, she feels loved by the gang. So of course Taja would do whatever they asked. After agreeing, she found she liked the gang more than Voxthain and it's stuffiness, and quit the militia at fifteen. Instead, she moved back to Asterath and her father's home, working to earn credit with the people to take her father's place on Council one day. Serpentine convinced her that her father and sister wronged her, and so when she was eighteen, Taja kidnapped her father and framed her sister for it. He's locked up in case she needs him later. Serpentine's orders, and she’d been convinced. Vedya was arrested by the Council, and Taja was elected to Asterath's Council.
She now secretly serves Serpentine, carrying out spy missions, assassinations and drug trades for them. She works to get their agenda across in Council without anyone knowing, and splits her time between her father's home--now her's--and Serpentine.Magic: Evocation

celia was born the younger twin of rosalind and an elder sister to juliette. she was always overshadowed by them, but would go to the ends of lux to protect them. she had a wit to match both of her sisters and if she practised more, her weaponry would not be any worse than theirs. when the three were together, celia would always be the one working at the kettle and making tea for everyone whilst her sisters worried about their latest assignments.
celia had a pretty peaceful childhood, or so she thought. everything was fine. she was happy, and formed unbreakable bonds with her sisters. juliette adored celia’s lovingness and calmness and rosalind adored celia’s kindness and wit. her parents used to call juliette the glue of the family, but it was really celia. even if she was panicking like hell, she would act calm for the sake of her sisters. without celia, the rostov family would be in shambles, and she knew it.
a month or two after her sister rosalind’s debut into the fighting ring, their mother suddenly passed away on a mission and her father wasn’t the same anymore. a scorpion had killed her, he claimed. he became more violent, and demanded revenge for his wife. in one of his fits, he called all of his children over, and he had three innocent people captive. he told them that in order to become proper snakes, they had to learn to be ruthless. rosalind was a sword fighter, though. she killed the young boy she had without a doubt, and returned his body to his family. juliette killed hers even faster than rosalind, and did the same. but celia had always been the soft-hearted one, and she couldn’t bring herself to harm the little girl she had. her father threatened to kill her sisters, rosalind and juliette, instead, and she panicked and killed their father, instead.
shortly after, celia fled to the arachniads, who took her in. juliette took their father’s position, and rosalind was determined to avenge their mother, when her father couldn’t. celia soon fit into the spiders like a jigsaw piece with its neighbours and no one remembered where she had come from or her real name. her code name was jade as she always wore a jade pendant around her neck - her parents’s favourite colour - to remind her of what she had done to end up there. it weighed on her conscience 24/7, but celia had learnt to live with it and was now fine with taking people’s lives, but she would much rather not. around the spiders, celia was known as just ‘celia’, claiming she was an orphan and had no idea what her surname was. she still keeps in contact with her sisters and often visits juliette in her house in voxthain.
celia is very happy in the arachniads as they are neutral. she couldn’t ever work for something evil like the snakes, especially with the fact that she is wanted by the snakes for murder. to evade capture, celia’s hair is dyed red and she grew it out longer than before. celia also wasn’t meant for something with literally no purpose - the scorpions. working as an intelligence operative in a neutral but important gang was celia’s dream, and now she’s living it.
I have to comment on so many of your characters being aroace, I love the representation. 🥺🥺 She is approved!!

Khaos is on the taller side of the scale at around 5'10". He has messy blonde hair that is died to have a red taint. His facial expressions are always solid and cold. On his right arm, he has a snake tattoo from his years in Club Serpentine, except now the tattoo has an addition of blood coming from the killed snake. His daily wear is simple, leather fighting gear with the occasional cloak. He only wears his sword when he is scheduled to fight, but when he isn't he still has smaller blades hidden in his boots and belt.
Personality
Khaos is a strong-willed man. He's very easily irritated and also quite careless. When you do get him to talk to you, he's blunt, telling the truth without sugar-coating it. Khaos is a crazed man. Some can argue that he's gone mad. When you see him outside the ring, he's one of three things: angry-- shouting, throwing things--, drunk or high-- to the point where he may yet again yell and throw stuff still--, or functioning-- which is so rare that if you see him like this the world might be ending. Inside the ring, he's a cold-blooded skilled killer. The only reason opponents make it out alive is because he's forced to not kill them. On either side of the ring, he's a very dominating figure, and not in a good way.
The only thing that Khaos truly loved was his twin brother. The man that he supported and was supported by until he watched the man murdered before his very eyes. Grief consumed him, but not any normal mourning grief, hatred, guilt, and revenge. The only thing that Khaos loves now is blood, blades, and anything in-between. If he has a chance to take revenge for his brother, he will gladly take it.
Life changes, and Khaos has adjusted to that. Now, he passes his time in the tavern. The only places he enjoys other then the ring. Being drunk on alcohol is his second favorite thing to being drunk on adrenaline. That is all he likes, besides revenge of course. However, Khaos knows that revenge will never bring his brother back to life.
Everything in the world Khaos hates. Conversations. Noise. People. Light. Everything he hates. His solution? To yell. To break things. To intimidate. Although it sounds childish, a child is not 5'10", a rebound fighter in an illegal fighting ring, or drunk.
Romance is off the table in Khaos's book. While he is straight, and can spot a hot girl at a distance, he will never approach. He knows his life is shit, he knows he isn't good news, and he definitely believes that nobody is going to want a mess of a man like him. Although, if true love really exists, maybe he isn't as far gone as he believes?

History
Life was never kind to Khaos. First, he had to deal with a terrible name given to him by his parents. Then, he had to deal with terrible parents. Finally, he had to watch his brother get murdered in front of is eyes. That's how he keeps it simple in his mind. However, a lot more has happened to Khaos then that.
He was born to the worst parents in Asterath. They were broke. They were irresponsible. They were drunks. They were druggies. They were addicts. They were gamblers. They were robbers. They were neglectful. They were everything a parents shouldn't be. And even worse, their parents didn't care. Growing up, life was not "hide this reality behind the curtains", instead they had to show off their life like a trophy. And in Asterath, even with all the gangs, that life was not a trophy to show off. Especially not to two raggedy half-fed boys.
Life was nice to him for once though. He and his brother were offered a new home. One in a club. It sounded like fun to two 10 year old boys they needed food and shelter! And it was nice to them, unlike their parents who didn't even notice they were gone, or they did and never tried to find the missing twin boys.
Being trained to kill gave the boys purpose. The two became an unstoppable duo. By 13, they were on missions to go rob and destroy anything they were told to. While the morals of the gang weren't perfect, the shelter and food that the two received was enough to keep them from questioning.
When the boys turned 20, tragedy struck Khaos again. After 10 years of gang life, someone made the decision to commit murder. Not against anyone who mattered, against his brother, Kalm. That morning, Khaos was awaken by a bloodcurdling scream from the bed beside him, Kalm's bed. And then in front of his own eyes, Khaos watched as a new snake girl stabbed his brother in the heart then ran. While he wanted to chase her and give her the same treatment, he went to his brother to try and save him. However, the injuries were too severe, and Khaos watched his brother die a cold and painful death in his arms.
The death of Kalm was his breaking point. His brother, his twin brother, his partner in crime, his life buddy... was gone. Khaos spiralled after that, falling into a range, his life became centered on revenge. Following the death, he spoke briefly to a few gang members, learned the murderer was named, Taja (@Elizabeth), then he left the snakes for good, unable to stay with a gang that allowed the death of his brother.
His life was a mess. He was angry. He wanted revenge. He was homeless. He drank and he yelled. He fought with random people on the street. Then, he ended up in a tavern, drinking himself drunk then picking a fight with like any other day. The only difference this day? He had found the fighting ring. The moment he won a fight, Khaos was asked to join the fighting ring.
His life changed a bit, the ring giving him a path in his life. He made the ring and tavern his home. He trained, he fought, he won. He channeled his anger into fighting, dreaming of a kill even though it wasn't allowed. In the tavern when he didn't fight, he drank and yelled like nobody else. He made the ring his outlet for his anger. Even so, there was still a bit left boiled in him waiting for the perfect moment...![]()

Appearance:

Face Claim: Dove Cameron
Description: Clarissa has pale skin and eyes that appear gray or hazel depending on the light. Her hair is naturally blonde but has since dyed it black and light brown. She's short, standing at 5'2". She dresses casually most of the time, wearing t-shirts, jeans, sweaters, and jackets, although she does wear dresses and skirts once in a while. For shoes, she wears sandals, high heels, combat boots, and tennis shoes.
______________________
Personality: Clarissa is how you would expect any snake to be; cruel, ruthless, and seemingly uncaring. But she is surprisingly calm, cool, and collected for a snake. She is cunning, clever, and resourceful, preferring to plan ahead instead of rushing into things. Clarissa is very skilled with weapons, her preferences being a sword and bow and arrow. She is charismatic, usually using her charm to try to get herself out of trouble when needed. Clarissa loves art and being creative and enjoys painting and drawing. She is feisty and can be quite aggressive, especially if she's provoked in any way. Despite her cold nature, she has kind side, but she rarely shows it, especially towards the other snakes, as she believes it would be a sign of weakness for them.
_____________________
History: Clarissa was born in Asterath an only child into a middle-class family. Her parents raised her with plenty of love and adored their daughter, spoiling her every chance that they got. Her childhood was normal, and she had a close relationship with her parents as a result of their love and affection.
Clarissa attended Cogworks as a child, where she made a few friends. Although she formed some friendships, she had a few enemies as well, and was bullied by some of the students, but whether it was because of jealousy, or they simply didn't like her she wasn't sure. She confided this in her friends and parents, who helped her learn to stand up for herself and stop the bullying. She was grateful for her support system, and it helped boost her confidence in herself. She graduated from Cogworks at eighteen.
Despite being raised in a loving family, there was one relative she didn't like: her uncle. In fact, she despised him. He was jealous, petty, and narcissistic, so full of himself and thought highly of himself, and Clarissa always hated when he would come over to her house to visit. He was jealous of her father, his brother. Back when all three went to Cogworks together, her uncle fell in love with her mother, but she didn't return his feelings. Instead, she loved and chose her father, enraging her uncle.
On one night her uncle came to visit, he snapped. He got into a heated argument with her father, her uncle explaining how he was still hurt over her mother's rejection. And Clarissa was there to witness the whole argument, all four of them in the living room together. Suddenly, her uncle took out a pistol, threatening to shoot her father. Her mother and father tried to reason with him, but he pulled the trigger, hitting her father in the shoulder. Horrified and realizing what he had done, Clarissa's uncle quickly left, and her and her mother rushed her father to the nearest medical center. While he survived, he experienced deteriorating health after the incident. Her father died when she twenty-one, leaving Clarissa and her mother emotional wrecks. After her father's death and hearing what her uncle had done, her father's side of the family cut ties with him, along with her and her mother, having not spoken to him since. While technically not responsible for her father's death, she still blames him to this day. The gunshot still blares in her head ever since that night.
A year after her father's death, Clarissa ran away from home, leaving a note for her mother explaining that she didn't want her to go out and find her. She felt horrible for leaving her mother, but she felt like she couldn't stay with her. It was too painful for her to see her mother in such a distressed state and hated seeing and hearing her cry.
It was during this time that Clarissa learned to fend for herself through pickpocketing and other petty crimes. She stumbled across Club Serpentine, who welcomed her with open arms. Clarissa decided to join them, as she had nowhere else to go. Worried about her mother, they would write letters to each other and still do to this day, but she hasn't told her that she joined Club Serpentine. She knows it would break her mother's heart if she found out she was associated with such a notorious gang.

Face Claim: Bea Miller
Description: Mallory has fair skin that has been lightly tanned, and her eyes are a dark gray color that almost appear brown. She has dyed her many colors, such as black, dark brown, and blonde. She likes to keep her hair long but has occasionally cut it short. She stands at 5'0". She dresses casually, wearing t-shirts, jeans, sweaters, and cardigans. She likes to keep her shoes simple too, almost exclusively wearing tennis shoes, but she will wear heels if she feels like it.
_____________________
Personality: Mallory is about as sarcastic and sassy as they come. She is very opiniated, not afraid to share her honest thoughts about something or someone. Due to this, Mallory can be very blunt and straight to the point. She doesn't beat around the bush, which can result in hurt feelings without intending to. Mallory loves animals, having a soft spot for them. She is loyal to her friends and family and can be protective of them at times. She is very sociable and loves interacting with others and making new friends, even if she can come across as annoying to others. Once you become Mallory's friend, she will always be by your side, but she respects other's privacy and knows when they need their space and time to themselves.
_____________________
History: Mallory never knew her birth family. She doesn't know anything about her parents or even if she had siblings. She was left on the doorstep of an orphanage shortly after she was born. When a staff member of the orphanage saw Mallory with no note or sign of her parents, they decided to raise her along with the other children living there. She made a few friends with some of the children there, but nothing too memorable or noteworthy. Mallory lived at the orphanage until she was four years old, when two members of the Arachnia gang, who were married and had children of their own, came across her. Taking pity on the girl, they took her in, raising her as their own daughter among the other Spiders.
Growing up in the Arachnia for most of her life, Mallory was no stranger to crime and gang life. She quickly learned how to pickpocket from her parents and developed a natural talent for it. She would go in the middle of the night, stealing jewelry, gems, and other valuables from the wealthier Asterath citizens and bring the stolen goods back to the rest of the Spiders.
Mallory attended Cogworks for a few years, but she struggled. She couldn't focus on her schoolwork and showed disinterest in going to school each day. Some of the students also teased her, and while it didn't escalate to bullying, she still didn't like the backhanded comments she received from her peers. After telling her parents about this when she returned home from school one day, they decided to pull her out of Cogworks and finish her education themselves instead.
As she got older, Mallory wondered what happened to her birth family and if they were still alive. But she figured that she shouldn't worry about them. Why should she when they abandoned her? Because she feels a little bitter about it. Although she also understands that they could've struggled and weren't able to care for her anymore.
The Arachnia is her family now. She has acclimated to it and loves the thrill pickpocketing gives her. Despite knowing the dangers of gang life, she cares for the other Spiders and wouldn't trade them for the world.

you just gotta live your life and have fun!
keep believing in yourself, and you’ll get there.
adéla is a human embodiment of the phrase ‘you only live once’, preferring to live her life dangerously and adventurously. she is a very direct person, preferring to express thoughts as soon as they come, not caring about the consequences - a perfect example of speak before you think (yes, i know it should be the other way around in an ideal world). a great person to be around, adéla is kind and thoughtful, most of the time - she can sometimes come across as insensitive and rude as she always speaks before thinking, but at heart, she is just a loyal and soft soul yearning for more adventure and in love with the thrill of adrenaline. she believes in everyone being alive for a reason and in giving people second chances (most of the time). adéla is very determined and impossible to sway once her opinion has been given (or so she thinks). she makes jabs at everything and uses her wit in everyday conversations, and not many manage to keep up with adéla’s mind. however, adéla has not a clue about how to deal with emotional situations, preferring to laugh it off or get the person in question to do so.

adéla’s father was a wealthy voxthain trader who lived his life travelling lux and visiting out of the world places, and seeing incredible things. once in his many journeys to asterath, he saw adéla’s mother samara and one thing led to another, and out came adéla. unlike many traders before him, yoonsun lafortézá acknowledged his child and actively tried to play a part in her life, therefore adéla spent her childhood in voxthain when her father was around, and underground in asterath with her mother when he was on his travels, which was the majority of the time. nevertheless, adéla developed a close bond with both her parents.
once, when adéla was around nine, she was caught in crossfire between the snakes and night riders. adéla panicked, and didn’t get away fast enough, leading to her being shot in the arm by a stray bullet. she still has trauma from this, and she thinks it unfair that civilians of asterath have to deal with this everyday - and she wants to change it, hence her anti-gang stance. she didn’t want anymore children to experience what she had, in fact, she was only shot in the arm - it could have been her heart if it had been a few more inches to the left.
when the time came, adéla was enrolled in cogworks school and she soon became very popular due to her natural charisma and ability to make people laugh, as well as being smart and kind and the occasional clumsy. she was a teacher’s favourite, and no one at cogworks disliked her, though there would be the occasional jealousy because of her wits or beauty or popularity. her parents were incredibly proud of her, and she had so much fun at cogworks.
she originally worked at the neon cogs bar after graduation, but that was only to boost popularity. when she was twenty, adéla ran for councillor in asterath, and got it because she had the support of everyone who didn’t take a side when it came to the gangs. adéla was neutral, in fact, she was in favour of abolishing the gangs, which she voiced on the council quite early on in her councillor career. this was popular with the voxthain council, which she worked closely with, but less in her own council as many members were gang-affiliated or secretly gang-affiliated. however, adéla stands by her opinion, imagining an asterath where there were no gangs, or houses like voxthain. just the council, and a bunch of citizens without any rank.

APPEARANCE
The first thing you notice about Raidan is his eyes—sea-glass blue-green that shift like Lux's oceans, revealing depths he rarely puts into words. His sun-kissed bronze skin carries the weathering of a man who finds peace outdoors, his strong build not for show but forged through years of climbing Asterath's rocky trails. Dark blonde hair falls in natural waves, often pushed back by calloused fingers when he's lost in thought or caught in the flow of music.
His ranger uniform bears the marks of a man who lives fully in it—patches sewn with careful precision, pockets filled with sketches of creatures encountered on patrol. The guitar pick hanging from a worn leather cord never leaves his neck, a small talisman that moves with each breath.
Across his left forearm, beautifully tattooed music notes intertwine with the scientific names of Lux's aquatic species—art meeting science in a permanent testament to twin passions that saved him. When he smiles—truly smiles, not the careful half-expression reserved for strangers—it transforms his entire countenance, brightness breaking through like Luminos emerging from behind Lantas in the evening sky.![]()

PERSONALITY
Few truly know Raidan Myrr. He measures words like precious currency, spending them only when necessary—a lifetime of watching has taught him people reveal more in silence than speech. Ask about his past, and you'll meet the wall—a polite deflection, a changed subject, perhaps a comment about tomorrow's weather patterns. His childhood remains locked behind doors he rarely opens, even for those closest to him.
Around animals, though, something shifts—tension melts away, words suddenly flow as he identifies species and explains behaviors with infectious enthusiasm. Music pulls this same authentic self from hiding, his guitar expressing what his voice rarely attempts.
Trust comes slowly but completely once given. The family who took him in, Megan (meimei) and Athena, ground him when old instincts resurface. For these precious few, Raidan reveals a startlingly different man. Humor emerges in perfect deadpan observations that leave friends breathless with laughter. He remembers small details others forget—favorite drinks, mentioned birthdays, passing worries—appearing with exactly what's needed before the need is articulated.
Like everything else about him, his magic serves rather than displays. Where others create flash, he chooses precision. It's magic that reflects the man—understated, intentional, and infinitely more complex than casual observation suggests.HISTORY
Raidan began life unwanted in Asterath's shadows—a nameless orphan who found his first companions in tattered marine biology books. The chubby five-year-old whispered to imagined Anumi and Piji while other children mocked his fascination.
Club Serpentine claimed him at eight—Marcos, his handler, seeing value in invisibility rather than visibility. “You're nothing special,” he would say, “and that's your worth.” At Cogworks, enrolled as cover for drug deliveries ( because who would suspect a kid? ), Raidan discovered an abandoned guitar whose strings offered a sanctuary his life never had. His magic awakened similarly—water responding to hidden tears, air to silent prayers for escape.
At eleven, when ordered to cross an unthinkable line—a blade pressed into small hands, a bound captive awaiting harm—something fractured inside Raidan that day. His refusal left scars still tracing his shoulders, but certain transformations, once made, cannot be unmade.
His escape came unplanned during an unguarded moment. For two years, he haunted Cogworks' forgotten spaces—sleeping in forgotten storage rooms, washing in facility bathrooms before other students arrived, stealing enough to survive but never to attract attention. He conjured small creatures born out of loneliness.
Megan found him by accident while seeking practice space, discovering instead a boy whose entire life fit in one threadbare backpack. Her family's offer of temporary shelter became permanent as Raidan slowly unlearned survival's harsh lessons—food hidden beneath floorboards, flinches at raised voices, elaborate explanations for minor accidents. Calling her “meimei” evolved from emotional distance to genuine endearment.
At Cogworks, his band, with Megan, Athena Delacroix, and a few others, bridged worlds he never thought could connect. His interest in Athena found voice through her performance—friendship evolving into something more profound that transgressed the boundaries of her noble birth.
Now twenty-seven, Raidan channels hard-won survival skills into Asterath's wilderness rescue operations—tracking lost travelers through park territories where natural dangers ironically feel safer than city streets. His water manipulation guides disoriented hikers toward safety; air magic carries his voice across impossible distances; conjured creatures scout treacherous terrain ahead. Each successful rescue writes small redemption across ledgers, which he only tabulates—lives saved balancing, perhaps, debts from lives he couldn't.
Sometimes during performances, his eyes meet Athena's across stage lights, and something like wholeness seems possible—orphan, survivor, ranger, musician harmonizing into a single melody that might, with enough repetition, eventually sound like home.

Hannah is a friendly, kind young woman. Loyal to her friends and loved ones, she is always willing to lend them a hand without being asked. She adores the company of other people, so long as it's a smaller group she trusts, albeit she does like meeting people, just keeping most at arm's length so she doesn't get easily overwhelmed.
She is extremely empathetic when it comes to animals and her loved ones and friends, but this empathy does have an end point--if someone Hannah loves hurts her in any way, she will get a bit colder and stonier, only really giving second chances when she calms down and thinks a little bit. Still, as Hannah is not shy, per say, just an ambiavert, she is very capable of throwing shade at someone without a ton of regret, and can turn snippy and stand up for herself should the situation call for it. This is because she does not see herself in a negative light, and believes who she is deserves to be treated with respect, especially if it's by someone she was growing to care for in some way.
This is to say, she will flirt with a pretty or handsome woman if the opportunity presents itself because she thinks it's fun and because one day she does want a girlfriend. Right now, though, she is also someone who still lived with her parents because she loves them, and because of her father's failing health, which has her worried and with the need to be around her family and help out when she can.
She also does not exactly like violence. It leaves her reeling and feeling a bit sick inside, just seeing people senselessly harm one another, and so she has never liked the fighting ring despite having a part-time job at Neowrath Tavern. Hannah really is only there until her father gets better to stay closer to home.
Hannah always has a bright smile and warm brown eyes. She has dark black hair, and stands on the shorter side of 5' 3". She's thinner, with full lips and dark skin that glows when she smiles. She always wears a necklace from her relative, and slight, classy jewelry.
Hannah was born to a middle-class family in Asterath. Her father ran a hoverboard shop and her mother was a scientist, and both loved one another, and their daughter, with everything they had. She thus grew up adored and loved, in a happy home where she was the only child. This never stopped her from wanting siblings, however, and she would often get grumpy whenever her parents denied her request for a baby brother. Satisfied with one kid, they nevertheless allowed Hannah to have as many pets as she wanted as compensation, so she grew up with a small menagerie of cats, dogs, birds, and some guinea pigs.
She enrolled in and attended Cogworks at first like any other kid, and while there, she learned to interact more with others her age, and Hannah found herself generally enjoying the company of people, as she was kind and friendly and hit it off well with others. That said, she she was also not used to being around so many others, so Hannah found herself better able to focus and participate in conversation when there were less people, in a smaller group. She became close friends with three others, two girls and a guy, and they became a tight-knit friend group going forward.
But this is where Cogworks joy ended for her. Hannah was not a good student, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Her mind just did not work the way so many other's did, and she struggled in academic classes like languages and history and reading. All Hannah wanted to do was help her animals, be around her friends, and help her parents out, because she loved quieter environments where she could love life, much as so many people in Asterath did.
She had some skill with conjuration and enchantment, but beyond that she is not the best with magic. Hannah did best in those two classes, and some fields of science that allowed her to better understand animals. Nevertheless, school became so stressful for her that she began skipping all classes except the ones she liked simply because it was too much, and when her parents found out, they were worried and confused. Hannah confessed she was struggling and couldn't find it in her to care all that much, and so she dropped out of Cogworks while her parents found her a private tutor for lessons on the schools of magic she liked and on biological sciences.
She was happier at home, living with her loving parents, seeing her friends occasionally, and helping her dad out at the hoverboard store, while her mother had taught her more biology. Hannah had begun to dream of opening her own veterinary practice for animals, as she became skilled at using enchantment to calm down hurt or scared animals, and conjuration to give them the food and medicine they needed, while also knowing what to do to help them.
She interned for a bit with a vet in Asterath who taught her more, and at twenty, Hannah was a vet in the city, happily helping animals and kindly chatting patients up. On some of her days off, she would go with some friends down to Neowrath Tavern. Now, Hannah did to like the fighting ring, finding the cruelty almost too much, but she learned not to hate it as much when she realized the people here sometimes needed to fight, and she realized it wasn't entirely senseless. Hannah didn't like blood, but she wasn't squeamish, and a few times began to bet on fighters when she could simply for fun.
It was at Neowarth that she also begun to flirt more. She found here she could unlock her more fun side, the side that always skipped classes back in Cogworks, and Hannah had a slew of women who were so skilled and so hot that she found herself unable to not flirt. Through this tavern, too, she met Fiehra, who she hit it off with, and Ceonrei, a future Councilor, but she also met someone who Hannah considered as changing her life forever.
Rosa Farley was a stunner. Hot, skilled, an insanely terrifying, the martial fighter, Hannah realized, had been winning fights left and right since before Hannah had ever step foot in the tavern. She annihilated opponents, and Hannah found herself stuck on the woman's muscles and her wink when she passed Hannah in the tavern. She never got drunk and loud--Hannah hated those sorts of people--and was always polite to the women working the bar despite holding everyone at bay and having a simmering, dark force inside her. Hannah was intimidated, curious, and attracted.
Which was a problem, because she had told herself she was not dating or getting involved with any woman from the fighting ring. Hannah tried to avoid Farley when she could, and focused more of her attention on her work or parents. But when she was only twenty-three, a few months ago, Hannah's father was diagnosed with cancer.
It wrecked her, leaving her so heartbroken to see his condition rapidly deteriorate. She took a leave of absence from her vet position to stay at home and be with her parents, to help her mother at her job and parents around the house, also living in fear of her father dying.
They sought a cure with magic, but either 1.) because her father had accidentally touched shadowfog and lost a hand, with a prosthetic now, after a hoverboard trip that took him a few miles outside Voxthain when Hannah was nineteen, none of the magic cures worked, or if they are, it was working too slowly. Or, 2.) his system just rejected the magic cures, and the family--Hannah especially--has been scrambling trying to figure it out and find why, and to save him.
Because of this, she took a part-time gig at Neowrath, something letting her set her own hours and spend less time away from her family.
While she spent more time with Fierhra and her other tavern friends now, Hannah also realized she was now around Rosa more, and she was beside herself to realize she was emotionally attracted to this woman, as well. What happened was a blur--they were flirting, then someone kissed someone, and Hannah adored Rosa's attention whenever the beast of a woman was in the tavern. She never opened up about herself, but Hannah was head over heels. Breaking her own rule of no dating or making out with fighter women. Alas, it eventually blew up in her face, but not in any way Hannah had ever dreamed possible. She had no idea until a few months later that Rosa was a Voxthain Councilor, half a noble, and a militia member.
She hated at how angry and betrayed she felt when she found out, but nevertheless, Hannah cares about Rosa. Even if her affections will eventually begin to dwindle in favor of someone else. Anyway, Hannah is more stressed knowing serpentine kidnapped Rosa and that Hannah herself was used to hurt her.

Romantic Endeavor | Caledonia Hayden | Voxthain Councilor | mine
Hannah met her a few years ago as Rosa Farley, one of the ring's most skilled and deadly martial fighters. She was immediately drawn to her for some reason, and began to flirt despite her own rule against entangling with ring fighters like that. They began to flirt and kiss on and off, especially when Hannah works now at Neowrath Tavern, and Hannah fell head over heels for her charm and muscles and handsome cheekbones. Even if there was something dark and angry inside her. Hannah found herself and emotions compromised, and it blew up at her when she found out who Rosa really was. She will still care for her as a close friend when they work stuff out, but for now, Hannah is frustrated with herself and Cal. She also is terrified because Serpentine caught her.
Future Girlfriend | Fiehra Surname | Bartender | @Rory
They are friends at the moment, both working at Neowrath Tavern. Fiehra helped get Hannah the job when she needed to switch what she was doing with her life for now, and Fiehra is one of the only ones who knows the struggle Hannah and her family is going through. She confides in Fiehra more than most, and has always admired her friend's spitfire, outgoing nature and the way she's so energetic. She doesn't yet know Fiehra is meant to be her life partner just as she is meant to be Fiehra's, but one day, it will make sense to Hannah, who right now is scared and confused and going to her friend about the kidnapping that just happened out back. (details on where they met later, discuss with Rory)
Mother | Kendra Abiola | Potions Scientist | NPC
Hannah got her love for biological sciences from her mother. The two are close, both generally quiet and helpful people, but her mother has always been shier. Hannah grew up helping her around her shop, as well as continued her education from Kendra after she dropped out of school. Hannah always helps her around the house as well, and is a pretty obedient daughter. They also love having fine champagnes together sometimes, and painting and creating pottery.
Father | Alfonso Abiola | Hoverboard Shopowner | NPC
Hannah is also close with her father, helping him around the house as well as in his store when the need arises. Her parents have always been there for her, and so when her father wad diagnosed, Hannah put her life on hold for him. He was the first to support her when she quit school, but also the first to tell her she needed to figure herself out. Alfonso wants the best for her, and they used to go running together until he began to deteriorate. Now, Hannah is frantically trying to figure out why the magic to cure cancer is not working on her father, and running as many biological tests and experiments as she can to save his life.![]()

Jackie is someone who understands and appreciates the value of family and loyalty. She’s grown to be loyal to Arachniad while she also adores her family to no end. Unlike some people, she doesn’t see emotions as weakness, and instead pushes people to be human, even her thieves. That said, she runs Arachniad, full of spies and thieves, and knows emotions can be a liability, so she always says there is a time and place for them. Jobs are usually not that place unless it’s undercover or it cannot be helped. But other than that, if someone is having a crisis, she’s open to being the one to help them; it comes from having a younger sibling, and she doesn’t mind reaching out to her spiders if need be.
Jacquline is not someone to try and lie to or to try to get away with something around—she’s the Mother for a reason, and she is quite stealthy. Jackie is extremely observant and sometimes silent. So, she tends to see a lot of things people get away with and keeps an eye on her Spiders to try and ensure they don’t kill anyone to piss off the wrong people. She advocates for in and out, steal the items, get back. The woman is patient, having spent many nights hiding in rafters and in dark spaces on jobs when she was a Spider to gain intel on the other gangs, the voxthain citizens, or get the item and get out. She’s one of the most patient people ever.
But don’t make her mad, because when she’s angry she can get snappy and sarcastic and a bit harsh. Not harsh in a way she’d hurt someone—she’s a pretty good person, minus the theft—but she is harsh in terms of carrying out punishments like extra jobs, giving up prized items they stole to other people, and cold lectures. She hates bullying and hates people joking around on jobs, as they can be serious and to her, everyone has to have their mind clear for them. So she’s very much a separation of emotion and job work type. But she can, again, be compassionate and have a sense of humor, though her sense of humor is varied. It depends on her mood and who she is with, and she’s more likely to act like a friend around the spiders her age and more highly-ranked, than with anyone younger, and while she makes an effort to get to know people, she won’t be a best friends with them. She does like making sure younger kids in the gang are okay and that her co-workers are doing alright. Still, she has boundaries, and is good with kids.
Though, Jackie is closed about her personal life. Part of her thief/stealth personality developed as a need to protect her loved ones and it’s not Arachniad’s businesses to know about her life unless she tells them. She is, though, open to helping spiders in their skill sets and will give tips for better item theft and information acquisition. Jaqueline is a good leader, but when it comes to strategizing, which she is also good at, she likes to work with someone, not believing she should be the one to make every single call the Spiders take. Jackie believes in letting them state their opinions. She is also very good at keeping secrets and hiding her emotions when need be. She's strong-willed and not easily broken, and does tend to try and find something positive in the world whenever she can. She believes people are a mix of bad and good and that nobody is perfect, and she's someone who doesn't advocate for killing others unless there is really no other option, and even then she won't celebrate it. Jackie knows theft is not ideal, but she has long stopped caring, and sees it as a need.
She's focused, determined, and scarily quiet/observant when she wants to be. She's great at slipping into and out of places without being seen. While she's okay at lying, too, her strengths lie in stealth. So, she can fight people, but she, again, is more of a stealth person--get in and get the stolen item. She’s very into accepting people into Arachniad who want to join, but has everyone keep an eye on them to prove themselves. She knows some people really need the stolen items and the help the gang provides, and dislikes the Council for forcing people to have to steal to live.
As for rules...it's complicated. On one hand, she wants all her Spiders to comply with their jobs, because people can get killed. And some rules must be followed: treat others in the gang with respect unless they're absolute assholes; don't kill people. She can also be stubborn sometimes, and hates being injured and can sometimes argue with her superiors. But, if she's injured, she will learn to work with it and has a stronger sense of self than some people do.
But she's not the best at physically fighting, and doesn't love them. She sometimes freezes up in the face of major danger. Her instinct was always to hide, and she's trying to get better at this.
Jackie stands at 5' 7". She is very thin, with bright blue eyes, wavy darker blonde hair, and a thinner face shape with high cheekbones. On occasion, she will dye her hair a reddish color.
Jackie was born to two Asterath citizens--an artist and a bartender, who had no gang affiliations. For awhile, her life was fine, but her parents divorced when she was four, leaving Jackie not remembering much of the man who had never been very present to begin with. Her mother remarried a man who was like a father to Jack later who had ties to Arachniad. He taught Jackie early on how to steal, and while she disliked it, she understood life was so unpredictable that having the skill may be of use to her one day.
Her mother was nevertheless not thrilled at her daughter learning such skills, especially when she and her husband later had another daughter, and she was worried her eldest would teach her youngest how to steal. But Jackie did not, and it was a dream of hers, though, to use the stealth she liked from the thieving skillset to one day join Voxthain's militia. But that did not come to pass.
For awhile, life was okay. She went to Cogworks, where she was friendly open to meeting people, but found a hobby in simply watching others, in breaking curfews easily, and in getting secrets for other students if they wanted her to. She specialized in enchantment and illusion magic, but was never the most skilled when it came to other subjects.
When Jackie was fourteen, and her sister was six, her stepfather got into some trouble with Serpentine as a former Arachniad member who stole for fun from the wrong people. He was killed, and Jackie's mother was left distressed. One husband had divorced her, and one was dead. The woman was beside herself, and Jack watched with grief and horror as her mother sunk into a potions addition. Jack began to have to care for her sister herself, and she tried desperately to take the potions away and get her mother some help, but it was no use, and a year later, when Jacqueline was fifteen, her mother died from an overdose.
Jackie was spurred with guilt and grief, angry at Serpentine but also angry with herself, thinking she should have tried harder. Already she had had to drop out of Cogworks to care for Acacia and her mother, and keep her mother's art studio afloat. But after her mother's death, there were no more paintings to trade for food, or for medications, and she and Acacia were at wits end. Those thieving skills began to come in handy as Jackie realized just how much in Asterath the skill was truly needed. At first she felt guilty, taking from others, but it was all she could do to keep the two afloat, to keep Acacia clothed nicely at school now. She began, though, to eventually like it and become very, very skilled at it, getting a small thrill, albeit she only really stole when she had to.
But when she was sixteen, she came home one day from a desperate attempt at a job at a flower shop to see their house had been overrun by gang members of Serpentine. So she went to Cogworks, grabbed Acacia, and fled to the only place she realized now would keep them alive: Arachniad. Her stepfather's ties got her in the door, and she again learned the value of theft, and how it kept her and Acacia alive.
In Arachniad, Jackie saw a sense of community she had not felt in forever, and the Mother was generous and kind. When Jack proved to be skilled and adept at spycraft as well as theft, she caught the Mother's eye and became one of the top Arachniad spies, going into other gangs to get information on their dealings, and even inserted herself back into Cogworks to get information on citizens and Voxthain. It was fun to Jackie, and she owed the mother her life and her sister's, as far as she was concerned.
On one job, when she was a little older, Jackie hurt her leg, and she now walks with a limp, the wound untreated for days as she was trapped on a theft job gone wrong when a building fell on her. This broke her, but so did the fight she had with Acacia when her sister was sixteen: she wanted out, and hated the gangs. Jackie couldn't understand this, not fully, but she also knew she wanted more for Acacia, so they parted ways when Jack was twenty-four.
She's tried to stay in contact with her, and has considered leaving, but Arachniad saved her, and has her loyalty. She's since worked her way up and is now the Mother, loving to help take in people who need it and teach pickpocketing and theft to kids to survive. She knows what desperation and poverty can do, but while some see Archniad as simply a bunch of stealthy thieves, Jacqueline truly does care about her spiders as if they were her actual children, and she has long stopped seeing theft as wrong, per say.
She is afraid Acacia hates her now, but she does try her hardest to maintain a good relationship with her sister, who is now in Asterath with a steady job. She will never stop loving her, while Jackie also advocates for awareness surrounding potion use to all her Spiders.
Jack loathes the Council and blames them for why gangs exist. She knows theft is needed to survive in a world like Asterath half the time, but she hates that some kids have no choice. She wants the Council to shape up.

Jackie has a strained relationship with her younger sister. She loves her endlessly, but Acacia had moral issues, and some other problems, with the gang, so she left. It broke Jackie's heart, as Jack doesn't understand the real issue with theft anymore, instead blaming the Council for the way the gangs have to exist, and if some people need a place to live, and a way to get by, that is what she is here for. To train kids to be pickpockets so they do not die. She and Acacia have made up a little, when Jackie explained herself years ago, but they still remain strained, and Jack doesn't admit to being the Mother to her sister.

Starla is in a lot of ways the epitome of “girls just wanna have fun.” She can be a bit of a partier, and loves flirting. She will flirt with anyone and everyone, and isn’t very interested in settling down with anyone just now, regardless of how much she tries to set up her brother. However, Starla actually does have ambition, even if that doesn’t seem apparent at first glance. It may seem like she only cares about having a good time, but she actually does care a lot about her city, as well as those she loves. She loves parties and dancing, but also knows how to fight, and anyone who takes one look at her dresses and jewelry and dismisses her as not a threat, should prepare to get their ass kicked. She can also be a bit stubborn, and perhaps a little blunt at times. She can be fierce when she’s passionate about something, and doesn’t really care what people think of her, she’s just gonna be herself. She hasn’t let being a Councilor change that.
Starla is on the smaller side, and stands at 5'4", with thick black curls and brown eyes.
Starla loves girly clothes. She wears dresses a lot, although not always, and her favorite colors to wear are red and pink. She loves sequins, and also tends to wear a lot of jewelry. You'll often find her with dangly earrings, a necklace or two (or five), bracelets stacked up her arms, and rings on every finger. The Paries were always pretty well-off, even if they weren’t especially wealthy. Starla’s father was a businessman who often made trips to other continents, and her mother was an Asterath councilor. They were both quite busy, but her mother always made time for Starla and her younger brother, Maverick, even if it wasn’t much. Their father, on the other hand, wasn’t around as much. Starla did miss him when he was gone, but she got used to it, as he was away so often. With both parents so busy, the siblings were left mostly to their own devices often throughout their childhood.
When Starla was seventeen, and Maverick fifteen, their father died while on one of his trips. He had never been around much, and therefore, Starla had never really had the opportunity to get close to him, but it came as a shock. Their father’s death drew the siblings closer together. Maverick really hung onto Starla a lot, especially right after, and could be a bit clingy at times. As time went on, that changed, but they still remained close.
A little while after this, Starla went down to the fighting ring. Everyone there took one look at her and decided she wasn’t any sort of competition. In fact, most fighters said they didn’t want to face her because it would be too easy. But once she was in the ring, she proved them wrong. Soon, she had made a name for herself as one of the top fighters.
After graduating from Cogworks at eighteen, Starla continued to fight, as well as working as a server at a local restaurant. She kept in touch with a lot of her friends from school, often arranging parties, and meeting up with them at bars and such. After a few years, she got a job as a secretary for the Council.
When Starla was twenty-two, her mom stepped down from Council, and Starla decided to run. She was elected in her mother’s place. Starla, having spent so much of her childhood running around Asterath, and playing with anyone, knew how many kids were left on the streets of the city, that end up being taken in by gangs. So, as a councilor, she works to get more help for homeless and orphaned kids. She has a tendency to flirt with the other councilors, which isn’t the most professional, but that’s not such a big deal in Asterath.
About two years after Starla was elected, Maverick also became a councilor. As one might guess, working with her brother is both fun and annoying. She makes the best of it, and fortunately, the two get along pretty well.Conjuration:

Starla and Maverick have always been close. As kids, their parents were often busy, so the two of them spent a lot of time together, whether alone or with friends. However, they grew closer after their father's death. In the aftermath, Maverick clung to Starla a lot, and although with time and healing, he had become less clingy, the two remain closer than beforehand. And since Maverick was elected to the council, they're also coworkers, which can be annoying at times, but also fun.

Appearance:

Face Claim: Hoyeon Jung
Description: Lacey has lightly tanned skin, brown eyes, and black hair, but she has since dyed it red. She's on the taller side, standing at 5'9" She dresses casually for the most part, wearing t-shirts, jeans, and leather jackets, but she'll also wear skirts and dresses when she feels like it. For shoes, she usually wears boots, tennis shoes, sandals, and the occasional heel.
_______________
Personality: Lacey is cunning, clever, and manipulative. She knows how to turn on the charm, a skill she uses to her advantage a lot. She's resourceful and a good liar using this to improvise a plan that doesn't work or if she gets into trouble. She can be sassy and sarcastic, using dry humor as a coping or defense mechanism. Being a spy, Lacey is always cautious and has her guard up, so she doesn't trust others easily as a result. If you do earn her trust, Lacey is an incredibly loyal friend who will stick by you and is someone that you can rely on. She can be kind, but really only to her friends and the other few people that she does trust. Regardless, it would be unwise to cross or provoke her in any way, so it's best just to steer clear from her.
_______________
History: Lacey was born to an Asterathi father and a Voxthain mother. Her father was a councilor, while her mother was a journalist. They met when her mother went to Asterath to gather information on a story she was writing. They hit it off quickly and fell in love. then before they knew it came Lacey into their lives.
Growing up, they always told her how dangerous the gangs were and to avoid them at all costs, especially Club Serpentine. Because of this, she held a strong anti-gang stance, and being the daughter of an Asterathi councilor, hoped that her father would be able to come up with a solution to permanently dissolve the gangs. Unfortunately, that never came to fruition. This frustrated Lacey, as she believed the councilors needed to step up and put more effort into abolishing the gangs so they could keep Asterath safe for everyone.
Lacey moved between Asterath and Voxthain frequently throughout her childhood, allowing her to experience life in both cities. She mostly lived in Voxthain with her grandparents though since her parents would be busy with work. She loved her grandparents dearly and grew to have a close bond with them as she spent more time at their house.
When she was six years old, Lacey's mother was pregnant. It was a difficult pregnancy, and her mother would frequently get sick, leaving Lacey and her father to take care of her. Unfortunately, when her mother went into labor, she lost her brother shortly after birth. This left Lacey and her parents distressed. The brother that she wanted was gone before she even had a chance to know him. Later in life, she decided to wear a locket with the name that they had picked out, Remy, in honor of him.
Then, a miracle happened. A year later, her mother was pregnant again and gave birth to a healthy baby girl: Lacey's sister Deondra. Lacey immediately fell in love with Deondra and grew attached to her. She was ecstatic to have the sibling that she always dreamed of. She enjoyed playing with Deondra and reading stories to her. She cherished her sister and was protective of her, wanting to make sure that she was safe and unharmed.
Not long after Deondra's birth, tragedy struck. Lacey and her sister were at their grandparents' house in Voxthain when she read the front page of the newspaper: her parents were shot and killed by two Club Serpentine members. She broke down in tears, devastated by the news. Sadness quickly became anger, though. She blamed the councilors for not doing enough to rid Asterath of the gangs, and of course Club Serpentine. She wanted revenge: she was determined to avenge her parents, find the two Club Serpentine members that killed them, and have justice served, even if it meant personally killing the two Snakes herself. Lacey wasn't the kind and bubbly girl her family knew anymore. No, this was a different Lacey. One that was cruel, determined, and bent on revenge.
Her and sister stayed in Voxthain with their grandparents afterwards. Since Deondra was so young when their parents died, she didn't remember them. But Lacey always told stories about them to her to keep their memory strong. She told her how hard they worked to provide for them and how kind and intelligent they were. Although Deondra expressed how she wished she could've known them more, she was grateful to Lacey for her stories about them.
While at Cogworks, Lacey discovered that she had an affinity for magic and fighting, two skills that proved to be useful to her later on. When she was sixteen, she visited Asterath when she discovered the fighting ring. Impressed by her fighting skills, she was invited to join, which she agreed to. She made more frequent trips to Asterath after this, never telling her grandparents or sister the true reason for her trips there, knowing well enough that they wouldn't approve of it.
A year after joining the fighting ring, Lacey ran across a member of the Arachnia gang. While not as dangerous as Club Serpentine, she was still cautious, remembering her parents' advice about the gangs long ago. After conversing with the Spider for a while, they asked Lacey if she wanted to join. Although hesitant, she agreed, despite her parents' and her own anti-gang views. She worked in secret without her sister or grandparents' knowledge.
After graduating from Cogworks, Lacey moved to Asterath permanently while her sister remained in Voxthain with their grandparents. She quickly rose up in the ranks among the Spiders for her skills in stealth and thievery, becoming a respected member of the Arachnia. One day, she was tasked with going undercover as a Snake and reporting their activities. Lacey immediately jumped at the opportunity, knowing this was the perfect chance to get closer to Club Serpentine and finally avenge her parents' deaths.
Sometime later, she received a message from her grandmother, explaining that her grandfather was sick and dying. Lacey immediately rushed to Voxthain, staying there for a few days so she could spend time with him. On the day her grandfather died, she asked Deondra and her grandmother to be alone with him. Not wanting to be eaten alive with guilt without her grandfather knowing, she told him the truth; that she was a member of Club Serpentine but is secretly a Spider pretending to be a Snake, as well as a member of the fighting ring, explaining her reasoning. While shocked and horrified that she put her safety in jeopardy, he said that he loved her and was proud of her. She was relieved, knowing that she didn't feel guilty lying to him. That was the last conversation she had with her grandfather before he passed away.
Now at 19, Lacey still works undercover and frequents the fighting ring, even when she doesn't have a match, just to watch. She still keeps in touch with Deondra and her grandmother, as she still loves them and worries about them. She even adopted a cat, whom she named Mika, after finding her alone in the alleyways of Asterath one night. In her undercover work, she goes by the code name 'Starlight' in honor of her and her father's love of gazing at the stars together when she was a child. She uses her name, Lacey Reinhart, among the Spiders, but uses the alias Sierra Fox, opting to go by her middle name around the Snakes and fighting ring and crafting a new last name for herself. And while she hasn't found her parents' killers yet, she'll never stop and rest until they're brought to justice.

Katniss is a very complex person. On one hand, she's the sunniest, happiest, and most optimistic person you'll ever meet, eager to make friends, meet people, and get on their good sides. There is always a silver lining in situations. She loves giving gifts to make people smile, because that's the type of person she is. At least, it was was, and still is, somewhat.
However, in recent years, there has been a darkness encroaching within her. Katniss joined the Arachniads to help her poor family out and to get in her brother's good graces once more, but it sucked the life out of her. She's a kleptomaniac, loving to steal items, food, anything, and hide it or trade it. She thus fits in quite well with the gang, getting thrills and an adrenaline rush every time she takes something. But it's more than that. In one of her jobs when she was younger, Katniss found she has a love of blood. It's simply beautiful, all scarlet, crimson, and glistening like rubies under the magic lamps they have. And overtime, her desire, her urge, to see blood had led her down a darker path. Katniss started to kill to see it, and kill because it was fun, and because that way, she could steal their stuff. It also gave her a thrill. Maybe not as much as theft, but still.
None of this goes against the fact she does, in fact, care about her family, at least mostly. She doesn't want to hurt anyone she loves, but Katniss is also a sensitive person, easily able to cry when she feels sad. She doesn't like rude people and calls them out on lack of manners or bad behavior, even if she does it while crying. However, depending on who hurts her, she may murder them or steal their things as revenge. Or both. She killed her best friend when she found out he was from a rival gang there to simply get information from her, and her boyfriend when he cheated and betrayed her.
Katniss is about 5' 5". She is thin, with dark brown eyes, olive-toned skin, and longer, thicker, dark brown hair. She often dyes it some blonde though, and occasionally threads brighter colors into it.
She doesn't entirely have clothing preferences, as long as its comfortable. At times she prefers skirts, but other times, looser pants.
Katniss was born the second child to two Arachniad parents, her father being a fairly highly-ranked member in the gang and her mother someone who loved greenhouses and plant life. Katniss thus grew up not only close to them, but her sister, Cress, as well. She thus loves her family very much, even if as she gets older they don't understand her as well.
But her love of her family was in a way, Katniss's undoing. She was always a very social child, without any anxieties of shyness, unlike Cress, and always liked to talk to people and get to know them. But, as she was born in Arachniad, she didn't have the most normal moral guidelines, and from an early age, a few things combined and Katniss began to develop a habit of theft. Not just from other gangs or highborn people in Voxthain, but from her fellow gang members as well. She'd steal trinkets, snacks, small things, and then jewelry and larger objets as she got older and bolder. It gave her a thrill.
And, because Katniss loved her family so much, she became paranoid early that something may happen to them, and they'd end up on the streets starving. So she started to steal for them, random fancy objects, stashing them like a dragon hoarding gold in the base. She was so afraid something would happen after one of their uncles, their father's brother, was killed by Serpentine. So she began to steal more and more and get almost crazed, desperate, to protect them, to keep Cress from being as anxious as possible, to be a good Arachniad member. It all served to help Katniss' mental deterioration.
When she was fourteen, she met this boy, Vanryn, son of a higher-class merchant in Voxthain. She fell head over heels, as did he, or so she thought. They spent two years together, where Katniss was happier and he seemed to love her and give her flowers and food all the time, knowing Kat adored those things. But when she was sixteen, she found out that he betrayed her and was really from Serpentine when he tried to kill her. Outraged, Katniss killed him, something he had never expected, mostly because she had never killed before.
She was so hurt, and then went on a major theft rampage in Voxthain after that. This was the start of Katniss taking on the alias the Scarlet Devil. She traded for a deep red cloak, and has been stealing across both cities for years now. She's wanted by Asterath and Voxthain, as Katniss steals from everyone--rich or poor. Mostly rich, because she's trying not to steal from poor people, but sometimes she can't help it. It's like a craving. But it also started her bloodlust, and Katniss loves the way it looks; it's beautiful and red and shiny, looking like rubies, and while she has been trying to cap it, it's hard sometimes.
And when her best friend turned out to be a Voxthain noble spy two years later, and found out her alias, she killed him, too, upset. Katniss has thus developed trust issues than run deep, and she has a special hatred for Voxthain. Kat is kind of paranoid, and she has tried hard not to descend into a ton of murders, but it's getting to the point where if her thief jobs do end up with her murdering people, oh well? She does have enough sanity left to worry about it, though, and she knows her parents are concerned, but Katniss refuses to let people harm her sister the way they harmed her.
About three years ago, Katniss met a girl from Asterath one evening when she was taking a walk, and the two hit it off. But this worried her, because her last close friendship and her last relationship ended poorly. She tried to avoid the girl, but she was open and friendly, and finally, Kat determined: one more chance. They've been dating for about three years now, and its going well, but Katniss finds herself often background-checking the girl, reading her communications and such when she doesn't know it.
She's scared for her family, and herself, borne out of love so deep , mixed with high anxiety and...well, some real problems...that she's now paranoid and committing endless crimes.
She enjoys using her magic for theft and such, and she sometimes helps her sister sleep when Cress is anxious by trying to give her good dreams.
