Posting January's selections now because the rest of the month is going to be crazy busy - two family birthdays in addition to all the Christmas frenzy - and I don't want to forget.

Death in a Budapest Butterfly (A Hungarian Tea House Mystery #1) by Julia Buckley

message 22: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 1537 comments I've read both series above and really wish there were more! Especially the Hungarian Tea House series. I'll definitely consider re-reading at least one of them in January, tho

I found it when looking for more books by Julia Buckley. It comes highly recommended by quite a few of my fellow cozy readers, so here's hoping it lives up to the hype!

Alice | 757 comments For those who like to plan out their reading early

Our theme will be historical 1900 - 1970

Victoria Thompson with her Gaslight Mysteries

Book one is Murder on Astor Place
There are 27 books in the series.
Ms. Thompson died last year. I will greatly miss her books

Our Second Author will be Nancy CoCo with her Candy-coated series (appropriate for Valentines Day

Book one is All Fudged Up There are 14 books in the series

I hope you all enjoy both authors

message 25: by Alice (new)

Alice | 757 comments I think someone missed the volunteers for May, June and October, perhaps they can be added to the list.

It will have to be whoever created the original post as GR doesn't let us edit other people's posts.

I will tell you now, it sucks having a suppressed immune system! However careful hubby is (and the medical people that come see me, as I am still housebound from the broken femur, are) I can still pick up anything at the drop of a hat!

Still I can always read :D

Meanwhile - everything on the opening post is up to date, thank you those who have stepped forward to pick - if anyone fancies picking for August, November or December that would be great!

message 34: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 1537 comments Is there a place (page) with a comprehensive list of all the picks from, say, the last three or four years? I'm looking at possibilities for my April picks and would hate to duplicate something recent.

message 37: by QNPoohBear (new)

QNPoohBear | 1201 comments Oh I forgot! I'll choose soon, I promise! I have a few new to me series on the go but lately I've been preferring the historical cozyish mysteries. I'll think about this over the weekend and let you all know next week so you have time to get your books.

Meg wrote: "I love it! Thanks, Barb!

The thread with the list is starred, so it will show up at the top of the Featured Series folder. But each month's new featured series are also starred, and GR moves the newest starred posts to the top of the folder. The list of series then drops down, and there's nothing we can do to keep it at the top.

Of course, if you mean the first post of *this thread, Hilary would have to do that, since that's her post :)

message 39: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 1537 comments Yes, definitely the first post on this thread. It would make it so much easier.

Good choices!

message 47: by QNPoohBear (new)

QNPoohBear | 1201 comments Thank you Meg! The Deputy Donut series is new to me but my boss gave me the newest one for Christmas so I had to start from the beginning. I'll be reading along with everyone else to see how I like the series. Bea is an old and dear friend and I'm madly in love with Kesgrave!

message 48: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 1537 comments Kesgrave is very cool! I've read most of the series, and while some were not as appealing, I still enjouyed.

message 49: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 1537 comments Hilary, I think I have my April choices. Lmk when you want me to share them. None are on the list of past themes.
