As someone who doesn't really have a set bucket list, I'm kind of intrigued by Someone Else's Bucket List. It's about an introverted woman taking on the challenge of finishing her sister's bucket list after her passing.

I found this while browsing the monthly Kindle deals. I am almost certain that I will want to try one of these combinations before I die, so I am counting this as an aspirational activity.

Something on my bucket list, besides traveling to various places, is to fly first class in a plane. I want to read ‘Here One Moment’ by Liane Moriarty, would that fit? Or any other book recommendations where the character flies first class?

the business class section of the plane is mentioned, but most of the characters are in economy.

Couldn't really decide on a book for this prompt because I don't really have a bucket list.

Finally went with this one. Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base

What the heck, might not be able to get on that "top secret base" but it would be fun to check out all the weird little tourist traps I'm sure are around there.

I don't remember, but someone else might - in the movie Crazy Rich Asians, part of the reveal of his wealth comes when they fly to Singapore first class. Guessing that scene may also be in the book?

Yes in the book the seats are super luxurious, little reclining beds with privacy screens, lots of perks, snacks, etc. She's amazed by it all.

I’d love a recommendation for visiting the national parks/a good book set in one (HA, so far I’ve done Mt Rainier, Olympic, Haleakala, Grand Canyon, Acadia, Cuyahoga Valley, & Grand Canyon). I am ok if it’s just featured in any random one. I’m not looking for a cheesy mystery series though which is a lot of what I found on the couple lists I perused.

Dear Bob and Sue by Matt Smith is a non-fiction book about a couple who visited all the national parks in existence at the time, and they wrote it like e-mails to their friends Bob and Sue.

Depending on how literally you interpret "national parks", Desolation Angels might work. The main character (a stand-in for Kerouac himself) works as a lookout on Desolation Peak, which is technically in a national recreation area rather than a national park. The lookout station is operated by the National Parks Service, though. It's probably my favourite Kerouac after Dharma Bums (yes, ahead of On the Road, for my personal taste).

Nevada Barr has a whole series of mysteries set in different national parks. I do not consider them cheesy. But maybe if you think any mystery is cheesy, you won't like these.

There are several good non-fiction I have read and enjoyed about national park journeys - Leave Only Footprints: My Acadia-to-Zion Journey Through Every National Park and Open Road: A Midlife Memoir of Travel and the National Parks

USA National Parks: Lands of Wonder is packed full of useful and interesting information and pictures.

I have FINALLY found a book that I think includes a bucket list activity!!!! woohoo!!! In Murder Takes a Vacation, the main character take a boat tour through France, and the second stop is Giverny, Monet's home and gardens. I would like to visit Giverny! (I would not like to be on boat cruise involving murder, but I'm counting this book anyway!!!)

I had a hard time deciding on this book, but I'm going with Emperor of Rome: Ruling the Ancient Roman World

My family has been to Rome but I never have. It's got such a unique history that it would be interesting to visit.

As someone who doesn't really have a bucket list, it took me a while to find things I might like to do in a book I actually wanted to read. I wound up reading The Pairing. I really should have thought of this sooner as it features some of my favorite things: art, wine and food! That combined with a highly descriptive tour across Europe, it checked a lot of boxes.

I don't have a bucket list. We don't travel much. I read The Amalfi Curse. I enjoyed the book.

This is a difficult one. I don't have a bucket list and don't like travelling much, but I would like the explore the city I live in, that's why I'm reading Like Blood On The Bitten Tongue: Delhi Poems by Akhil Katyal. Hope it's good.

World travel is definitely on my bucket list. I'm going to try by Marty Essen.

I went a slightly different way with this. I do have a bucket list. Nearly all of it is to do with books or death. So I used that is on my dream list, like my bucket list, but that will only happen with unwanted changes in the world. Cataloguing a special library from scratch, including coming up with a bespoke cataloguing format. What can I say? I'm a qualified librarian.

Nina Sankovitch did that a few years ago, and then wrote a book about it. Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading


I think about her often. I don't think I could sit still for long enough to read a book a day for a full year (and I'm a very sedentary person). I've never read HER book, but maybe I will someday.

That book is already on my TBR, which I will make more progress on if I didn't have to still work. I don't think I will be able to retire anytime soon even though I'm eligible in a couple of years
