Agatha Christie! I want to read A Murder is Announced next month. Never read it and would love to go into it blind cuz the premise intrigues me.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Wow Gail! Quite a list and range from 2 to 5 stars. Several intriguing sounding books. Look forward to your notes. I won't rush to get to The Mighty Red based on your 3.5 rank, any thoughts on that one?

I had a hard time rating it - somewhere between a 3 and a 4. I struggled getting into the first half, unable to connect with some of the characters that were crucial to the story, but the second half was very engaging. So, 3.5 rounded to 4. It was such a mishmash of storylines, all interesting in their own right but mixed together were a bit messy.

Some reviewers called the book "funny". I've either lost my sense of humor (it may have died) or I was just not in the right mind frame. But I saw very little humorous here. Reviews are all over the place, but I would definitely recommend reading it. I much preferred "Where Wolves Don't Die" over this one.

Well, thanks for that! Because I've been worried.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Gail, thanks for the additional thoughts on The Mighty Red. I’ll save it for a time when I think I can handle ‘messy’ plot lines. 😀

I've had "Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race" by Reni Eddo-Lodge on my list for awhile. Glad to see you liked it.
