Alyssa (lyssiepop1) | 35 comments The way I wasn’t really sure I’d be into this book…. Wow was I wrong. Just a little over a day and I’m more than halfway through.

Gary Feinstein | 10 comments No spoilers here... other than Kathleen Glasgow is one of the best YA contemporary writers around. Great book.

I liked this book a lot more than I thought I was going to. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I really liked how the author explains how each person was affected, not just the main character and the brother.

Alyssa (lyssiepop1) | 35 comments This is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. As a pediatrician, the author’s note made me cry. 12 years old… What an amazing read.

message 6: by El (new) - rated it 3 stars

El | 5 comments I feel like this book really nails the teenage angst experience that is so all-consuming when you're in it. I felt Emory's pain so vividly and her desire to be noticed and seen as she is, rather than as all these labels put on her by other people. I think that is a universal feeling that we can all relate to.

This wasn't a usual read for me but I enjoyed challenging myself to read about a darker subject matter and it has changed my perspective on ideas around drug addiction.

100% agree with this. For me it was the parents and their changing perspectives that I found really unique - they were real people who made mistakes rather than villains.

I agree! I liked how they changed, adapted, and grew throughout the story.

Quinty (Taylor's Version) (queenq) | 589 comments In the beginning I was kind of bored and didn't like it at all... but wow when part two started things finally started ramping up! I'd give part 1 3 stars and part 2 5 lol so averaged it to 4
