Glad I could help!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Finished Lois Lane.

Now one left!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I will finish my last book on time.

Had hours of medical appts yesterday which went well and today will be a long work day making up some time.

I finished my last of the group read for A Witch and a Wolf series this month.

In June I had planned to join in on the buddy reads for Summer Sons and The House of Long Shadows, so will find a spot for them on the June tasks.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments This one seems pretty much impossible to know unless you have read the book already, so not sure yet what I'll use for this one:

Read a book with an unreliable narrator grappling with personal truth.

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments I don't like the unreliable narrator task by itself and add on grappling with personal truth and it does seem impossible!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Bernadette wrote: "I don't like the unreliable narrator task by itself and add on grappling with personal truth and it does seem impossible!"

Yes, agreed. I run into them but the point of a book is you are not supposed to know they are unreliable narrators in mysteries unless you've read the book and it's a "twist". Only way I could think to do this one is a re-read of something. Not sure yet what I'll do with this spot.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I just now noticed June's MPG Bonus is Young Adult - Robin should be happy with that!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Again - on the very last day - done.

Another fun month of "Genre Adventures" :)

Will I ever get all goals finished before the last three days? Time will tell.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I didn't pre-plan this time and now I'm getting almost all done with books I happen to read. Go figure, that must be the secret for me getting them done earlier. So far enjoying this month, how is everyone else's reading going?

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 109 comments Hi Guys, I'm kind of stuck on my reading this month.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Fortunately still a lot of the month left!

message 312: by Bernadette (last edited Jun 12, 2025 07:18PM) (new)

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments I didn't pre-plan this month. As I've been finishing books, I've looked at the tasks to see if I could fit them. I've needed to use creative thinking. Somehow, I've completed half of them.

I only have 2 that I haven't found books for yet.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Yes, same, just two left for me with no pre-planning.

Granted, i did not get nearly as many bonuses done and read only one YA, so I can see a point difference, but ah well, it's worked

I do have a Coming of age idea that's larger page count but not sure if I'll be able to squeeze it in this month - December Park

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments I've had no Young Adult yet. Hopefully Robin can come to our rescue😉

🤣 YA is my go to genre and an absolute favorite! I have several that are coming in at the library with larger page counts--so y'all may be in luck!!!

And of course, I can do some swapping around because what I put on the SS already aren't ones that have to stay. I just threw them up there just in case my holds didn't come in!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments The July theme for Historical Fiction is also up your alley, Robin

She posted the pairiings for the Quarterly new bonus turn-over the next three months. It's....a lot. The buddy reads if we did one are also heavier on bonuses but I think it would be hard for us to have all five of our members read the same book, although I'm willing to try if others want to.

Here's the announcement thread

Our team pair for the bonuses and discussions, etc, is:

6. Prose Pursuers + Storyscape Seekers
Thread Title: "The Silence of the Librarians" (The Silence of the Lambs)

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 109 comments I would be willing to try a team BR.

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments Historical Fiction is one of my favorite genres!

I'm down for a team BR.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Okay, great, we'll wait for Robin and Cassie to weigh in and see which book to choose. It's a big looking bonus opp. I haven't visited the combined team thread yet to figure out that part of the quarterly bonus.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Well duh, looks like it would be in the combined team thread for the buddy read for July, doesn't look like either team has posted in there yet. I would have figured it out more if I had looked already, hence my self duh comment

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I just posted in the Quarterly Shared Team Thread. Looks like one person from our partner team Prose Pursuers" has also posted. Please check out the thread for strategy and voting to choose a buddy read for July

message 324: by Bernadette (new)

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments One book left for this month!

How's everyone else doing? It's very hot here in Philadelphia🥵

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I think I have one book left too.

It's hot here as well in FL!

Cassie, no, you don't have to participate in any BR, but there is a bonus if the whole team does.

message 326: by Maritza (new)

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 109 comments Good Morning Guys. It's hot as h**l in NYC (close to 100 degrees). I have some other books I read that I need to fit in somewhere. I was not in the mood to do any reviews this month.

I find I only do review if I had enough comments in the Buddy Reads section. No reviews for me this month either.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 836 comments Hey Team!!!

How's it going? Life has been super busy for me, AGAIN!!! I'm getting a lot of reading done, just not as much GR time!

The house I live in has gone up for sale, so there's been a lot of work this last month of getting it ready, taking pictures, showings and open house etc etc....so I've had to be gone quite a bit from home.

But now, it's slowed down just a tad so I'm playing catch up here on GR while I can.

It's hotter than the hinges on the gates of Hades here! We've been under heat advisories--today it's until 7 pm 🥵. Just a few days ago we were having severe thunderstorms and another tornado came through about a "city" block away from me.

Starting tomorrow we will be back to stormy rainy weather for the next week😧 If it's just rain, I'm ok with that...but if it's storms and tornadoes--I can do without that😂

I'll try to get everything caught up here! I'm so far behind. I've got to get all my books on my GR shelves and all my challenges updated!

I'm just tired, lack of motivation & energy, and sometimes just feeling BLAH with no interest!

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 836 comments Q2 Bonus: Genre Swap

UGGGHHHH! I read EVERYTHING--so there's not really ANY sub-genres that I haven't tried--so I went with ones that I just don't care much for and rarely read--Alternate History & Zombies,

Zombies--ummmmmm NO! I'm just not a fan of zombies! BUT, in Dread Nation the presence of zombies AND an alternate history--another subgenre that I don't read much, I could deal with it! I really like this book!

If you haven't read it, I recommend it as well as it's sequel, Deathless Divide.

YES!!! Historical Fiction is right up my alley!

I'm really confused about the stuff with the other team. I did finally make my way over to some BR thread or something with the other team (?) I think....and saw that the book choice was Under a Gilded Moon

I doubt that I will be jumping in on that one. I tried to read it a couple years ago and DNF'd it. I hope you all enjoy it more than I did.

Glad you liked it, Robin. Sometimes these sub-genres we don't like much surprise us, I've had that happen a time or two. Sounds like that was the case here.

I'm still envious of that house - it's ridiculously nice. It may stay on the market awhile but it's a nice piece of property for sure.

Hope you just get some cooler weather and rain. We haven't had that much rain past few days and it's been hot here too, but our rainy season started June 1st for FL.

I don't have my head wrapped around everything fully either, here's hoping we enjoy the book. I haven't read it before, but we'll see.

Edited to add - and by "we", mean those who read it. I didn't miss your comment above about not reading this one.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I had pre-planned to do both of the June BOM's and those are done. I am not planning on either in July right now, but will be checking out the ones in August.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 836 comments How's it going team!

I finished all my books FINALLY!

Turned out to be a decent month! I got to reread some of my all time favorites by an all time favorite author, as well as reading some new books and authors too! Some of them were better than others but glad to have gotten them off the TBR mountain!

I didn't write any reviews--I haven't been motivated or in the right head space to participate in that activity--besides the fact that I hate writing them. I will "talk" books or informally discuss them in here all day but hate writing "official" reviews about books🤣

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Good! I just need to wrap up my last book tonight on the coming of age prompt. I have a ridiculously large planned July list I won't finish and some buddy reads in other groups, and the one for this one for the bonus, so not sure what will go where in July yet. Not pre-planning this month worked out pretty well for me this time, although July has two I may have to pre-plan for as they are a bit more specific, especially with the immigrant and artistic community. We'll see!

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments I have all my books picked for this month - all of them are historical fiction and 7 of them start with my first initial - extra points🥳

Took a little work but I as able to get books to fit all of the tasks.

I'm off until Tuesday, I should be able to get some reading done.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Nice. I have a three day weekend as well and working until 2 pm today. Hoping to get some books for other challenges wrapped up also.

Bernadette (bernadettedaniel) | 1521 comments July is halfway over, and I'm finished half of my books, it's going well so far for me.

Hope everyone is having a good summer😎

Starting Under a Gilded Moon today.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments I have a lot of my books done and updated as well. Still need to start the buddy and group reads here including Under a Gilded moon but will get those done :)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments August tasks have been put up.

These are pretty easy / generalized in August that caters to a lot of books already reading to smush the tasks in, I think.

These two are especially easy since I never go anywhere LOL

✈️ Read a book set in a country you’ve never visited before.
✈️ Read a book by an author who was born in a country you’ve never visited/lived in.

message 348: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 836 comments Hey Team!

I've been a little bit quiet but I'm reading! I still have 3 tasks/books to fill in/complete BUT I should have all 10 by the end of the month.

I've been concentrating on "R" books as much as possible to get those extra points BUT of course I had some other HF books I had to read for other groups/challenges so I slotted those in.

Should I read an "R" book I will do some swapping around!

Real life has has had me a little disoriented too😨 and making waves in my normal routine but hopefully I'm at the tail end of a lot of that!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 913 comments Ugh I know what you mean Robin. Real life - yech

Today was one of thsoe evenings for me too

I want to start the Group read we're doing this weekend and try to finish it and then the shorter group read Don't Make a Sound. Despite reading a lot this month, I'm pretty behind in a few challenges this month and kind of feeling the pressure. Fun.

YES!!! I'm behind on a lot of reading too! I have read TONS but it's still not enough for all my challenges and goals--UGGGHHHH! Whatever I accomplish by month's end will just have to be what it is. I can't push many more than what I'm already pushing🤣 UNLESS I get a few days of solid non-stop reading with no interruptions but I doubt that will happen!
