Carolyn | 9840 comments Burn After Reading by Catherine Ryan Howard Burn After Reading by Catherine Ryan Howard has an intriguing premise, but was quite drawn out and isn't one of my favourite novels by this author.

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ (roshreviews) | 712 comments I've absolutely enjoyed the three books of the Huda F series by Huda Fahmy. Very relevant, informative, and enjoyable! All graphic novel enthusiasts must give this OwnVoices series a try, though it mainly aims at teens.

Don't Tell Me How to Die by Marshall Karp
I was an outlier for this "thriller", which felt more like a family drama.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Garry Disher is a favourite Aussie author who writes mysteries with characters I care about. He's also a writing teacher, so you know wyou're in good hands. This one is about searching for clues on old remains Under the Cold Bright Lights of the morgue. The detective is a guy I'd enjoy knowing.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I always enjoy Richard Russo's stories, and who could resist the lovely old dog on the cover of Somebody's Fool? I could say the dying town of North Bath is going to the dogs, but that would be a poor play on words, especially when it's being absorbed into a wealthier, more upmarket township.

2. Atana and the Jade Mermaid by Vivian Zhou
The perfect finale to the Atana duology.

3. The Best Daddy of All by Peter Horn
I rarely post review links for picture books, but this one was just outstanding. A great gift option for toddlers' daddies on Father's Day.

Carolyn | 9840 comments I really enjoyed The Rewilding by Donna M Cameron The Rewilding by AA Donna M Cameron, a novel with two young protagonists from different worlds, one an eco-warrior and the other a wealthy city boy, set against a strong message about environmental damage and climate change. Both thoughtful and delightful !

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I like reading about cultures that are foreign to me, so the acclaimed 2017 debut, Stay with Me, by Nigerian writer Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀ was exactly what I wanted. A modern young couple is being pressured to produce grandchildren. Having problems? How about you add another wife? We have just the girl - you'll learn to like her.
