Carolyn | 9841 comments I'm enjoying delving into the early books in Lisa Regan Josie Quinn series that I missed out on by jumping in midway in the series.

The Girl With No Name (Detective Josie Quinn, #2) by Lisa Regan The Girl With No Name by Lisa Regan is #2 in the series and an excellent twisty mystery.

Shattered Snow (The Mirror Chronicles #1) by Rachel Huffmire
A one-of-a-kind retelling that mashes up historical and futuristic and fairytale in a complex but convincing package. I enjoyed this!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Caroline Lennon is the perfect narrator for the second book in Leonie Swann's quirky Sheep Detective series, Big Bad Wool. Very entertaining, and I'm sad there are no more to read. 5★s

State of Paradise by Laura van den Berg
The audiobook shattered my state of paradise. Might work better for those who enjoy stream-of-consciousness writing.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I never read Little Women by Louisa May Alcott about the March family, based on Alcott's own family. No matter -I still enjoyed March, by the excellent Aussie/American author Geraldine Brooks, who won the Pulitzer Prize for her American Civil War novel about the girls' absent father.

The Sea Gives Up the Dead Stories by Molly Olguín
A fantasy-horror short story collections that worked for me in every way except for the endings of the stories. But lit fic and slice-of-life lovers might still enjoy it.

I expected much better of this Korean hit, but it seems quite confused about the age group it is targeting.
