Carolyn | 9840 comments The Stolen by Vikki Petraitis The Stolen by AA Vikki Petraitis is the second novel featuring Detective Antigone Pollard, this time in a race against time to find a missing baby. Tense and gritty with small town vibes (and a dog called Waffles).

The Quiet Librarian by Allen Eskens
A dual-timeline mystery, with the historical timeline being focussed on the Bosnian war. Triggering content, but great storyline. My first book by this author, and it won't be the last.

Not as good as her debut adult cozy fantasy, but a nice entertainer nonetheless.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments The second book in Nolan Chase's Ethan Brand series, A Lonesome Place for Murder: An Ethan Brand Mystery, Book 2 is even better than the first, and Kevin T Collins narration is excellent. More please! 5★s

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments I may be in the wrong demographic for Allison King's debut novel, The Phoenix Pencil Company: it just didn't grab me the way I'd hoped. 3.5★s

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments This is a curious short story of seduction by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, The Professor and the Siren. It's either inspired by, or a retelling of, some old myths. I've never read Lampedusa before.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Acclaimed Irish author John Boyne can write about almost anything, I think. In A History of Loneliness, he introduces a wonderful boy who grows up with a calling to the priesthood, where he becomes a wonderful man. But he discovers not everyone in the Church is cut from the same cloth.

I started reading this a second time because I hadn't reviewed it and didn't think I'd read it. I did start to remember the plot but it's so good, it deserved a second reading and this time I've added a review.
