Question: Is the rule still that 50% or more of the book should be set in the country we claim?
Answer: Yes. If a book's location is set in more than one place, it must be 50% or more in the location you want to use for the challenge.
Question: Does it include countries where the author was born?
Answer: Not necessarily. We are looking for SETTINGS not author's nationalities. So it's ONLY the location where the story is set that counts.

Teri - here's your answers :
1. If a book's location is set in more than one place, it must be 50% or more in the location you want to use for the challenge.
2. We are looking for settings not author's nationalities. So it's ONLY the location that counts.

Thanks, Jan. I have another similar challenge, so I wanted to be clear here. I look forward to more interesting reading this year!.

Thanks, Jan. Like I said, I discovered some really great books and at least two favorite new authors - Shute and Forester!

That's great Teri! I love finding new authors that "speak my language". They are getting harder and harder to find in today's new literature.

Probably why I read so many older books. :)
