I'm hoping to read a few books through NetGalley, which provides people advanced reader copies a few months before a book comes out in exchange for some social media posting. I'll mark them below. FYI, I research the poet's work before requesting a copy of a book so I've got a good chance of liking what I'm reading.

Books actually read:
1. Helen of Troy, 1993 by Maria Zoccola (NetGalley--book's release date is Jan 14)

Okay, I lied about what I'm starting with. I'm actually starting with what I haven't yet read of the 2024 National Book Award long list. And before that reading what I was most curious about among my recent purchases:

2. Hotel Almighty by Sarah J Sloat

3. Silver by Rowan Ricardo Phillips

I hope to get the reviews up soon. Unfortunately, what takes one or two sittings to read takes at least that many weeks to review.

Since I'm burning through books of poetry this year, I feel the need to stop and ask myself which are my favorites thus far. Here they are:
Kenneth Fearing: Selected Poems
Helen of Troy, 1993 by Maria Zoccola
Ocean of Clouds by Garrett Hongo
Sturge Town by Kwame Dawes
The Gathering of Bastards by Romeo Oriogun

I'm not sure what order I'd put them in but those are my faves. What's coming down the pike?
A collected Roethke
A collected Howard Nemerov
A collected O'hara
A selected Kenneth Fearing (done and added to faves list)
The second half of Leaves of Grass
Phantom Pain Wings (DNF)
A couple of anthologies
Random selections from Everand
Random selections from the local library
Whatever of interest turns up on NetGalley
