I've finished reading The Mouthless Dead by Anthony Quinn (finished a while back but I've been really busy since). It is based on a true (and very cold) murder case, that of Julia Wallace in 1931, in which William Herbert Wallace was convicted, sentenced and then acquitted for the crime. The book presents a theory that in real life no one would have considered in a hundred years, but I think that's what made the reading interesting.
Starting Spook Street now -- I love these books and I love the series.

In this addition to the humorous Andy Carpenter mystery series, the Paterson, New Jersey attorney defends a man charged with murdering two business colleagues.
Entertaining cozy(ish) mystery. 3 stars

It is historical fiction set in WWII and 2016 on the island of Martha's Vineyard, Mass. Both my wife and I enjoyed it. My 4 star review

Interesting blurb, but it didn't live up to my expectations: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

L.A. layer gets involved with beautiful young widow who has been a crime victim, much like his mother. Suspenseful entertaining easy to read mystery-thriller from the pen of a real professional. I really enjoyed reading it -- 4 stars.

Finished Spook Street and moving on to London Rules by Mick Herron. Starting season 4 of the series tonight. I also got caught up in and finished another book I really liked, The Haunted Book by Jeremy Dyson. Seriously addicting, good book even if the GR star ratings say otherwise.

Absolutely wonderful fascinating entertaining mystery set in a prep school in Pittsburgh. Easy to read but there's a lot going on here. Loved it -- 5 stars.

When an assistant keeper at London's Tate Gallery calls a Picasso painting a forgery, there's an investigation and big trouble.
Interesting suspense novel, but a bit slow. 3 stars

This is the kind of post that makes me want to read the poster's review of the book.
I finished Tooth and Claw, a Longmire novella, by Craig Johnson which was set before most of the Longmire series. It reminded me a lot of The Terror by Dan Simmons.

The murder of the much-hated headmaster of a primary school generates a whole slew of suspects.
Fun 'Golden Age' type mystery. 3 stars
