Angie Sullivan and Jennifer Welch are popular podcast hosts who tell compelling (and often sad..... and often funny) stories about their lives.

I like their honesty and their politics. 😊 4 stars

PattyMacDotComma | 922 comments What with all the current conflicts, I don't know why I chose to read about that between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the 1990s, but by golly, To Go on Living: Stories is an excellent collection of linked stories by Russian/Armenian author Narine Abgaryan. It is fiction, but some is based on her own family. What DOES it take to go on living?

PattyMacDotComma | 922 comments Robbie Arnott is an interesting Australian author who writes beautifully about his home state of Tasmania. As with his previous novels, Dusk stretches reality, telling the story of the hunt for a monster puma (escaped import?) killing stock and people in remote mountainous regions.

Thomas (tom471) | 2006 comments I read Curse of the Pogo Stick by Colin Cotterill. It is set in 1977 Laos and book 5 in the series. It has quirky characters and humor.
I borrowed this eBook from the New York Public Library, which will grant a library card to anyone who lives in New York state. My library does not have all the books in this series, so I am happy to be able to read more of the series using NYPL. See nypl.org if you want to get a library card there.

Devi (views_she_writes) | 118 comments 📚 Recently read A Most Puzzling Murder A Most Puzzling Murder by Bianca Marais by Bianca Marais and I need to talk about it!

I’m a sucker for mysteries that do something a little different, and this one hit the sweet spot between cozy, clever, and completely unputdownable.

If you love solving clues alongside the characters, this might just be your next obsession. It’s smart, funny, and even a little interactive — yes, you can actually email for clues and unlock bonus stories. How fun is that?

I’ve shared more of my thoughts (and strong opinions!) in my full review here:

Anyone else read this one yet? Did you solve the puzzles or peek at the answers? 👀 Let’s chat!

Late last night I finished reading The House at Devil's Neck by Tom Mead. More than one locked-room murder graces the pages of this historical mystery set in 1939, and it seems that the killings are linked to events from the past. Twisty book -- just a fun, okay read, not out-of-this-world great. It's the first time I was wrong in my guess of the who and then proved right a few pages later, due to an epilogue. Arrgh!

Barker and Llewelyn #6. I like the series but this is the weakest entry so far. There's no mystery -- it's Barker against an old enemy. 3 stars.
