I managed to finish my last pre UNO book today, so now I'm starting my anxious wait for Saturday. Of course I'll have zero time to read Saturday so I guess I'm waiting for Sunday. lol.

What are you all planning on starting off with? Are you still wrapping other books up?

I’m constantly reading so I’ll have a couple of books that won’t count for UNO. I’m planning on reading the colour cards I signed up for first and get them out of the way.

I somehow managed to snag the audio for Onyx Storm from Libby right when it came out. And I’ve still got 40% left! 😩 I keep having to pause and read certain passages in my physical copy, or google one of the 500 characters. Hoping I can power through and wrap up by Friday, that way I can hit the ground running with my blue card read on Saturday.

@Steph, do you think I should try to refresh my memory with Iron Flame at all?

Assuming you didn't just finish it, then yes, I'd recommend trying to refresh a bit. I ended up watching some 15-minute recap videos. That definitely helped, though I was still pretty lost at the beginning lol

It has to be 100 pages long. I’m not totally sure about the equivalent for audiobooks, though, so let me check. Just checked and it’s 3 hours for audiobooks from a reputable source (like audible).

oh perfect, that's what I'm listening to it on. it's 3 hours 54min 57seconds lol

For audiobooks, the page numbers = number of hours

Now I’ve finished getting everything ready for school starting back tomorrow, I’m going to get started on my colour cards!!

First book down!

In the very first spreadsheet column, it lists color, which is filled in for our color cards of course. Do you want us to fill it in if we read a book where it applies, in case we need an alternate for a color card? I did that with my first one, let me know if that's correct.

I've started my first books for February!

On my 3rd book :) I was moving since Thursday so I had a lot of audiobook time. now im living out of boxes because nothing is unpacked. *sigh*

I'm listening to and I have to admit I'm not loving it. This might be my last Grady Hendrix. So I've got it at 1.6 speed and keep increasing the speed to get through it and to another book.

I'm listening to and I'm about 30% through and still don't fully know what it's about 🙃. At least it's cozy enough for me to just power through the next day or so!

Yes I am reading! :) I’m having internet problems… the whole neighborhood is out and my cell service is spotty at best so I haven’t been online and I’m a bit behind in posts but I’m reading! When is the next deadline? I tracked down the internet van today that was roaming the neighborhood lol and he told me it should all be fixed by Friday. I just hope it’s fixed for Super Bowl…. my nephew plays for the Chiefs and I will lose my mind if internet goes down during game!

I’m glad I got my colour cards out of the way because the first week back at school has been WILD haha. I might have a WD4 option if we still need that covered (Red 1) but once again I can’t link it because I’m on my phone. I’ll throw it up later just in case!

Sebastian Joseph-Day. he's a defensive tackle. I didn't know but he NOW plays for the Titans lol. I can't imagine playing football and just moving teams pretty often

he was with the Rams when they won their last super bowl. which is pretty cool since nothing interesting really happens in our town lol

The minis should be posted soon. That's a good reminder to maybe hold off on completing some books till about mid month. If you can, no pressure! I'm almost done with and am halfway through , but I may slow roll at least the latter one.

How's everyone feeling about their reading? I feel like we're making good progress! And we've got the mini coming up soon, so that'll be a fun one to keep track of 😊

Thanks everyone for the details you've been adding to the tracking sheet! This has been great. I have a couple of follow ups included below. Also, if there is anything that's already in there that you've read, please add that to the Reverse column/column S. We have 5 more of those to complete, and those can be tricky to fill up as we close out the month.

Ariel, could you add a read date for Latte Darling? Once that's in, we'll be able to add to our team sheet. And it looks like At Last needs to be added to your Uno shelf.

Kelly, I think you said you're traveling, but when you're back at your computer, it'd be great if you could add a link for Boy Trouble.

The February Mini-Challenge has been posted! There's a lot of detail, so here's a link to where you can read up on it.

We'll get a tracking sheet added to keep track so we can start planning. Only books that are finished after Feb 14 at 9am will count.

The tl;dr is that we are picking 6 Star Wars characters to read prompts for...prompts will be in the tracking sheet and in the link. We have to pick at least one light side and one dark side character, and then after that can pick whatever we want. Once you've had a chance to look at the prompts, please come back here and start voting for which characters you'd want to go with and hopefully we can get some consensus.
