I need to pull my copy off the shelf and start reading it again. It's been several years since I have read it this time, so I'm looking forward to visiting this favorite friend.

I did like the humor, the relatively mild adventure & easy intrigue, the world-building, and the creative characters.
"Well, if you can't find any hens' teeth, you could try substituting snake fingernails or the hair from a turtle's egg."

Same, except that I must have read a library edition. Will try to get hold of it again, because I recall enjoying it.
I downloaded the audiobook but I'm in the middle of another audiobook that has me captivated. I'll listen to this after I finish the book I'm currently listening to.
I think I must need to update my settings because I am not getting notifications when comments are made.
Yes, Cheryl, it isn't a deep book in any sense and is a very easy read, but that is one of the things I actually love about this series. I realize they aren't really for adults, but the humor and diversity of characters draws me in every time.
This is the series I always recommend for moms looking for a beginning fantasy series for their daughters.
That being said, it has been several years since I read the series, and this time I have only read Dealing With Dragons, but I had in my mind that Cimorene was a little more spunky. She definitely has a mind of her own and is strong willed, but in my mind she was a little more daring. I still love the tale and will read the other three when I catch up on my current pile of books I need to read within the next month.

I had that problem previously but had not changed my settings, then it resolved itself.

I started listening to this. Hopefully, when I'm doing my chores tomorrow I can make some progress.
I finished today. Initially, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this story but I love the fact that Princess Cimorene does not need rescuing. Life in her parents' kingdom doesn't fit her so she strikes out to find a life that does. This is a great story with a good moral for all kids but for girls especially, it's empowering.

I like anything that shows girls they are capable human beings. Unfortunately, though society might be a bit better about girls/women than when I was a child it's still good for them to understand they can make their own choices and create their own lives.

Summary
Cimorene is everything a princess is not supposed to be: headstrong, tomboyish, smart - and bored. So bored that she runs away to live with a dragon - and finds the family and excitement she's been looking for.
