Team Challenge: UNO 2025

Team Interstellar

(I absolutely love that movie!)
Welcome to Team Interstellar and our *stellar* group chat. I hope everyone is as excited as I am about UNO starting again. I look forward to it every year!
A few housekeeping things:
1. Here is the link to OUR TEAM TRACKING SPREADSHEET https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
We will track everything here as a team. My lovely co-captain, Katie H., and I will work to organize our books into the official spreadsheet so everything is covered and to update you if we need specific books read (this tends to happen at the end of the month). If you need any help navigating the spreadsheet, please reach out.
Don't forget to link your books in the spreadsheet and add every book to your UNO shelf.
2. Remember this is for FUN so don't stress too much. We all have lives outside of this, so please communicate if stuff comes up. Don't feel pressured to do everything or feel bad asking for help. We are a team! We support each other!
3. For general FAQs about UNO, please check out the threads specifically made for that purpose. The UNO threads have a ton of info, so check them out.
Looking forward to reading with you all over the next few months!

My name is Zoë she/they. I love to eat soup in all of its varieties, and I read a lot of horror, dystopian, mysteries, thrillers, feel-good stuff, and science fiction. I’ve played UNO since 2019, I believe. A fun fact about me is that I grew up partly in Mexico and moved back to the States about a year ago. I live in Boulder, CO, now. I work as a holistic health practitioner, fusing psychotherapy and physical health support. I have two cats named Christopher and Johnathan. They are both ginger boys, and honestly, I mostly call them critterfur and yon yon.

I read via kindle, physical books and a lot of audiobooks. I'm always busy with family/work and tend to have an audiobook running in the background.
I am a business owner, wife, and mom to two sets of boy/girl twins (12 & 13 y/o). We have a kitten named Chicken, two dogs (Roscoe and Leroy), a parakeet named Sparkles, two Guinea pigs (Francisco and Charley), 13 chickens and about 150 rabbits. I was born and raised in a little town near Houston, Tx and we are recovering from a whopping 5 inches of snow that pretty much blew everyone's minds this week. LOL! I can't wait to get my heat and hurricanes back!!

My favorite genres are mystery, thriller, horror and Nordic noir but I will read just about anything!
This is my 7th year playing UNO. It’s always such a fun challenge.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better soon 😊

My name is Kayla (she/her). I live in Iowa and have lived here most of my life. I love to read Thriller, Historical Fiction, Memoirs, RomCom and I'll pretty much try anything. This is my first UNO challenge and haven't really attempted any Goodreads Challenge before so I'm excited to learn and see what the hype is about! :)
I work in the Non-Profit field, have 2 wild boys, and a dog named Aikman (yes, after the quarterback). Looking forward to getting to know everyone and make a strong attempt at being a great team player!

My name is Ashley (she/her) and this is my 5th time participating in UNO. I am from Toronto, Canada and currently work in a grocery store but my career goal is to work in the museum field. I've got three cats (Tobey, Max and Nyo) and a chinchilla named Chubbs.
I'm not too picky when it comes to books and will read anything that catches my interest, but I mostly stray towards fantasy, sci-fi, mystery thrillers, and horror.
I look forward to reading with everyone for the next three months!

I am Leslie Ann and I live in Lafayette, Co. I have played UNO many times. My hubby and I watch our 2 grandkids 2 days a week, love those kids. We recently bought a Aussie Shepherd, Charlie he is 3 months old and a cutie. I will read just about anything for a challenge. My favorite genres are Mystery , Horror and Science Fiction.

My favourite genres are thrillers, crime, contemporary and new adult romance. And memoirs and biographies on peoples jobs and parenting.
This is my third year playing UNO and I’m looking forward to it. My iPad is a bit funny with spreadsheets but I’ll try with it.

I'm Katie (she/her). Looks like there's 2 Katies on the team so I'll be Katie K. This is my second year doing UNO and it actually really helped me to read more than usual last year so I'm excited!
I am from Ireland so my replies may come at odd hours sometimes!
I love to read mainly romance and fantasy - though I made an effort to try out other genres last year . My favourite authors are Cassandra Clare, Ali Hazelwood, Emily Henry and Stephanie Garber.
I'm looking forward to UNO starting!

Hey Ashley! If possible can you please accept a friend request from either myself or Zoe so we can check in the team as ready to go? Thanks! -KT

We can check us in here soon and then get started on Feb 1st! Check the countdown to see what it starts in your time zone since people play from all over I know they did the time zone at something random that works for the most people. Potentially US eastern time? But it might be UK. I can’t remember and I’m on my phone. lol.
Make sure you have access to the spreadsheet please and remember that the Goodreads app is the worst but you can get on it through the browser on your phone. Please remember to put books on your UNO shelf (I always forget myself ha).
And please ask questions! Especially the newbies - we are all nice here, I promise. And it looks like we have quite a few UNO veterans on the team so everyone feel free to chime in if there’s a question and Katie and I aren’t around to answer.
Okay I’ll stop now. Hope everyone has a good few days before we start!

My daughter lives in Boulder and my granddaughter is Zoe without the umlaut!

I can only view it. Also it links to our main ss?

This link works!
The link from your first message (still) brings me to the Google Sheets Homepage rather than the actual sheet, must be pasting weirdly or something

And coloured cards have disappeared from spreadsheet

Cool spreadsheets aren’t my friend lol

When I pull up the Team SS, I only see March on all 3 months and there are no cards and colors. I can see them on the main SS though.

And yes I’m good with claiming color cards for sure.

Card Total required
0 4
1 5
2 7
3 7
4 8
5 5
6 9

Reverse 10
Wild 4
Wild Draw 4 2
Color Cards

5 BLUE
7 YELLOW

4 RED
8 RED
3 RED
editing to add: We have two Wild Draw 4 cards this month too so those will be two more color cards to read from our list. So if someone grabbed one that you have one for too - you can still claim it! (at least twice :) )
I fixed the tracking spreadsheet link above so hopefully that should work now. Sometimes goodreads is weird with links. But now we have it in two places!
The spreadsheet should be all updated, but let me know if you see any issues with it or have any suggestions to improve it!
Feel free to start putting books in that you think you'll read next month!

Lol… i love ss

Is non fiction allowed?"
The one labeled "Team Interstellar" that the UNO Pixie posted: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
You don't need to worry about. That is the official spreadsheet where I and my co-captain will fill things in as we go and it will be how the UNO Pixie(s) track all the teams.
The one labeled Team Interstellar: Team Tracking is for just us and no one else has access to it. That is the one that I posted. :)
And yes non-fiction is totally allowed. I will have some for sure this time through! Here is a question and answer from our FAQ in the Captain's Group;
What's the rules with non fiction Books? Can the real life people of history say be used as "characters" and the same with locations used as "settings"?
Not for the majority of non fiction books, (it opens the doors to books that have a zillion royals listed for example), unless of course the non fiction book is something like "Eat Pray Love" which is told like a novel with limited characters.
So if you are unsure - just ask! And if I am unsure, then I will ask in the Captain's Chat. Never hesitate to ask!

TEN: The decade that changed my future is the main one I’ll be reading."
It works for standalone and for “T” for sure so that’s great!

Am I remembering right that we can’t add books we started before the 1st
