In the most recently published book in the Her Royal Spyness series, we have finally got to the point that King Edward needs to make a decision about Wallis Simpson, the American divorcee that he is in love with. Whilst Edward works out what to do, Georgie and Darcy agree to hide Wallis in their home. What the don’t know until after she arrives, is that Sir Hubert, the owner of the estate, has given a film crew permission to shoot scenes for a film about Henry the Eighth and Anne Boleyn in the grounds of the manor. Fig, Binky and their children also arrive, as does Georgie’s mother for a surprise visit. There was also the inevitable body found, and Georgie and Darcy also had to solve the kidnapping of the child film star. There was a lot going on in this book, and the setting and tone was far more serious than the other books in this series. There was so much going on that at times the story and pacing felt disjointed. It was nice seeing Georgie and Darcy being married and now parents, but this was one of the weaker books in this series.
