Julie Grindal (julesgrin) | 151 comments I read this book, in PAPER 😱back in 2018. I loved it and was immediately drawn to this series. As in Tana French’s books, you might get the swing of the Irish brogue quickly. It’s an erie detective ride.

That makes me excited to hear! :)

Peacejanz | 93 comments I encourage you to pay attention to the people in the book. She always has someone from another book appear in her books. This is really the first one in this series. Who will appear in the next book? Any ideas why? She is a wonderful mystery writer and always gives us info about Ireland. peace, janz

Jason (jasonpacheco) | 39 comments I'm about 100 pages in and have to say this is great so far! Definitely has me hooked! one thing I did notice was that it appears to be a common thing to have tea at night. I assume decaffeinated lol. anyone here take part in the activity of having tea at night routinely? as kids we would come in when the street lights came on. when the main character was recalling events from his past he said that it took place before having tea that night. I like learning about other people's routines and things like this. interesting.

It's a while ago since I read this book but I think they are probably referring to their evening meal. In some parts of Ireland and the UK the evening meal is called "tea" especially an informal early evening meal that children would have. Even more confusingly some parts of the UK call their midday meal "dinner!"
