OUT OF LUX discussion

Hi Ezzabee can we have topic names and descriptions for the Thornes as well as pictures? Or a general vibe so we can find some?

I know this is a lot and very excessive. This is the list of all the rooms I designed for the estate. It'll be the complete list that'll go into the estate description/overview. The rooms I request are made eventually include: the gardens, the drawing room, the music room, and the paper headquarters. More may be requested in the future depending on how the family is filled out.
Edit: this does exclude private quarters for each family member, those are in the main house but aren't mentioned here since it'd be a lot lol
There are both topic names and descriptions but, if anything else is needed, please let me know.
THE GARDENS
The gardens of the Seavey Estate are extensive and located at the front of the estate. Large healthy grass fields are out front of the estate with trees planted here and there. Closer to the estate, hedges are planted to keep privacy. A stone path with steps leads between the hedges towards the house but, nobody besides the Seaveys and invited guests have ever walked up that path.
The gardens are a public space to the community. While the estate is located on the edge of Voxthain, if citizens come to the gardens for any reason, they are welcomed. In summertime, the gardens often house picnics and water fights between couples and kids. During winter, they are a gathering space for families to make snow angels and snowmen.
On rare night, the gardens serve as the Seaveys ball and party area. The family hosts all of their exclusive parties in the gardens out front of the estate. The land is large enough to provide a comfortable open space like a ballroom while it also gives a beautiful view of the night sky and stars.
THE PATRIARCH'S OFFICE
The patriarch's office is the only locked room in the estate. The office is small and only available to the patriarch and his eldest son. Inside, there is a wooden desk with a chair, shelves, and a few cabinets. There is a single window in the small room that looks out towards the city of Voxthain in the distance.
THE DRAWING ROOM
The living room is located in the main estate building. It consists of couches and loveseats surrounding a wooden table and a fireplace. This is the main gathering place for the Seavey family throughout the day and night. While there isn't much that happens here, you can find people reading, playing board games, or having tea time while pretending the family isn't a fucked up old-fashioned mess.
THE MUSIC ROOM
The music room is located in the main estate building of the estate. It's a medium sized room with wooden floors. Inside there is a grand piano and plenty of musical instruments. The room isn't soundproofed however, it doesn't leak sound too much.
THE FEAST HALL
The feast hall is located in the main estate building. It is equivalent to a dining room except it's extremely large. A long old wooden table spans the room with candle chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. One side of the room has glass windows that look down past the hedges to the gardens. On either side of the windows are black satin covers tied together by white ribbon. The only chair at the head of the table belongs to the patriarch, it is a large throne-like wooden chair with a light brown padded seat. One either side of the patriarch is a seat for his wife and first-born son who have smaller throne-like seats. The rest of the table is lined by grand wooden seating for the rest of the family and any guests.
THE LIBRARY
The library is located in the front tower of the main estate building. The room is a two floored library with shelves of books and windows as lighting. There are no candles inside the library to avoid fire hazards. A spiral staircase is in the middle leading from the first floor to the second floor. While the library is smaller and is not a most extensive collection of books, it has the basics with details on all topics.
THE OUTDOOR PATHS
The outer paths are what connect the first and second buildings of the estate along with the back outskirts of the estate to the second building. The citizens can use these paths to move through the forest and to the second building. The paths are simple with either stone walkways or wood chip walkways depending on if you come from the main estate house or the forest.
THE PAPER HEADQUARTERS
The paper headquarters is the entire bottom floor of the second building on the estate property. While visitors are few and rare, they do happen, and this is the waiting area for those visitors.
The room is decorated with a front desk with a sign-in book for employees. Along with that, there are loveseats along the walls for any visitors to sit in. The front of the building has two white windows on either side of a stain glass window with the Seavey crest in the center.
In the back of the room, there is a locked door with a scanner that leads to the stairs that takes employees upstairs. Very few receive a key card for this scanner and most employees and all visitors must wait to be scanned into the upper portion of the building by a high ranking official.
THE PRINTING OFFICE
The printing office is located on the top floor of the second building of the estate. This is where the machinery for printing is located. The room is large but cramped as employees each manage their own machine in the process of printing. Inside the room is quite noisy however, it's well soundproofed to provide a serene experience to those outside.
THE RECORDS ROOM
The records room is located in the second building of the estate. This is where the records of every article written, every employee, and every published newspaper is kept. The room is large enough to have rows of cabinets and shelves. It's organized by section with employee records being the farthest from the entrance, article records being closer, and publishment records being directly beside the entrance of the room.
THE MEETING ROOM
The meeting room is located in the second building of the estate. It is the main meeting room for the Seavey Paper. Located on the second floor of the building, this is where everything goes down in the industry. Final copies are reviewed and meetings between officials happen in this room. Additionally, this is were other noble families will meet the Seaveys on any publishing matters. The enter of the room is a circular wooden table with seats on every side. There is a magic board in the front of the room that often remains with newspaper statistics unless a meeting is in progress.
@Kyleigh
I am so sorry it's taken absolutely forever to get to these. I've made the folder and topics and will start on the aesthetic, but what vibe for the Devoes? Forested, next to the water, how big is the manor, what does the garden look like? All of that?

No, you're fine! I honestly kind of forgot about this lol. I was thinking for their vibes darker colors (black, gray, dark blue, purple. I think it would be cool to have their manor by the water. I didn't really think about the size of the manor, but I could send a picture for reference if you want :)

Hayden Training Room:
The training room is large and filled with all the bells and whistles a militia member needs. The ceiling arches up, while banners of the Hayden green and gold unfurl from the wall. Racks of decorative weapons line some of the walls—swords, long knives, and some elegant firearms—while a door leads to a small but well-stocked armory off to the side. The training room holds state-of-the-art equipment for fighting and training, made for sparring and training with both weapons and magic, while a smaller training room sits in the basement of the estate. This one is less formal and a lot more military and casual, as well as serves as a panic room should an emergency situation arise, with steel doors and several locks and stores of food and ammunition.
Calico Garden:
The gardens are massive, ornate, and clean-cut. Everything is orderly, from the rosebushes to the glistening fountains and numerous statues. It looks almost as if it has never been touched, and the most-abundant flower is the red rose. Gold fairy lights accent the greenery, making the red and gold of the decor pop, while the statues are smooth marble and depict numerous mythical creatures and are studded with gems, rubies and diamonds the most.

this feels so freaking cringe, and, idk if it's really very descriptive. i cannot with descriptions lol, but anyway
delacroix garden:
With the help of magic, the Delacroix estate is kept rather dark and gloomy. Overcast, and a bit misty. A stone wall surrounds the grounds. There are a few trees by the wall, as well as the manor itself. In front of the house, is a mostly empty lawn, with a stone pathway leading from the gate to the front doors. However, behind the house, one finds a few trees beside the manor, as well as many flower beds, a stone pathway winding through it. There are a few stone benches scattered among the gardens, as well as a fountain, at about the center of the flower garden. Beyond all that lies a hedge maze, tall hedges whose dark green leaves rustle in the breeze.

More Seavey Estate! Only one this time though.
MELODY'S CHAMBER
Melody’s chambers is like a princesses dream. She has gorgeous natural wood flooring. A four poster bed with white silk and seashells decorating it. A desk is on one side of her room with her school supplies and extensive make-up collection. She has a walk-in closet attached to her bedroom full of all her dresses, ballgowns, purses, and accessories. Unfortunately, she has to share a bathroom with her brother Matthias but she always keeps her door to the shared bathroom locked and under spell.
note to all seavey members: if you want you can make your character's bedrooms. my only thing is please call them chambers since it's dumbly sophisticated like the family. and teddy and tamerion share a bathroom like melody and matthias. thank you!

I thrive on drama, what can I say lmao?

Audrey's Room: The room of Audrey Devoe is the definition of girly. There are many different shades of pink, from the light pink walls, to the darker pink bedsheets, it's basically the epitome of a sterotypical girly girl. Near her bed is a white vanity with fairy lights wrapped around it and a vase of pink and blue flowers. There is also a freshly painted white bookshelf with some of her favorite books stacked on top of each other. Audrey also has some paintings that she made herself that are displayed on the walls.
Note: If anyone has a Devoe and wants a room for them, feel free to do so!

May I please request a new topic in the Delacroix Estate?
Andre's Study:
The study is a dark room with natural wooden flooring. Blinds cover the windows for privacy as candles flicker as the only sources of light. In the center of the room is a long ebony wooden desk covered with notes, open books, and ink and pens. Along the walls of the room are bookshelves stacked with personal experiment notes. There is only one chair in the room: a black chesterfield chair in front of the table.
