Hetty Heyyy. I need some recs for standalone fantasy books. A lot of the ones on my tbr are parts of series and I dont feel like starting a new series right now. Duology is fine but no more than that for now. I welcome whatever you have to recommend! Have a good Sunday <3

Phantasma: A Dark Fantasy Romance by Kaylie Smith
Bride by Ali Hazelwood
The Ever King by L. J. Andrews (it's two books but so good!)

I read this book a couple of years ago. It's really great and describes a very unusual magic system.

After the Forest is both fantasy and romance, and has an interesting plot.

I really wish they had written more in the series.

They told practically the whole story of Spain (I can't remember the fictional name of this country, unfortunately) and the Grijalva family in their story, so they'd probably have a hard time finding a way to continue it.
But there were other countries in this fictional world, so they could write new books about them, or write a prequel and explain the origin of the Grijalvas' Gift in more detail.

six of crows (duology)
dance of thieves (duology)

Ashley Peters | 3 comments Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher would be my suggestion. It’s kind of a dark fairytale & I would describe the vibes as spookyesque whimsy.
