I just started it and am really loving it.

(view spoiler)[The female MC is an Army vet, a great boxer, and comes from West Virginia. Comes from a family with a widowed mom (dad was in the military, who raised 8 kids by working at a Shoney's). How cliche. Love it. (hide spoiler)]

I'm just now able to start it. Glad you love it so far...gives me hope!

(view spoiler)[I loved the fight they had, and just like you, I am really enjoying it. I think the fighting parts were more enjoyable a read than now reading about the politicians. Politics were NEVER my cup of tea! lol But I love how much tenacity Hayley had during the fight. I'd have given up! lol (hide spoiler)]

I kind of like this "inside the White House" scenario although like you politics is not my cup of tea.

(view spoiler)[OMG! I wasn't expecting Peter Hall to be murdered! When Sinatra and Davis were attacking him, I expected something/someone to save him. That was a surprise to me.

Now, letting go of the interns was a good thing. I feel like they weren't very good at their "jobs" anyway. They seemed to let Hayley take the brunt of all the work.

So, now Hayley is kept on by the President and placed in the White House Operations. Wow! She's definitely badass! Quite an honor that the President, among others, has noticed her and how valuable she is.

But I'm not sure why she slept with Scott. Does she care for him or was it just sex?

OH, and I HATE that some people (like Peter's son) will literally cut all ties over ANYTHING, let alone over disagreements about political affiliations or ideas. HELLA stupid in my opinion! Agree to disagree! Jeez! (hide spoiler)]

Finished! I give this book 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this book! Especially in the current political climate, some of the book seemed more satirical than straight fiction - life imitating art and all that. The main character Hayley is a total badass and is tasked with single-handedly finding a Russian KGB mole buried deep in the White House Administration. I loved her interactions with the other agents, and her take no prisoners style of dealing with any liars or cheats. Great story. I want to thank the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for giving me an e-copy of this book, in return for an honest review.

I got a phone call from BofA and long story short, someone got my SS#, most likely through either Kaiser Permanente or CalSTRS (California Teachers Retirement System), both of which were hacked and compromised and I got a letter from them saying my information might've been compromised. Evidently it was. Ugh...SO SICK OF PEOPLE who are SCAMMERS and thieves, etc.! Anyway, I spent all day on the phone with them, Experian, and going through and changing my passwords. So I got behind posting. Sorry.

She lied to Bishop about Scott Billings. I don't blame her...that was questionable with his questions he asked her. It would be so scary knowing that they're on to her and that she knows something! (hide spoiler)]

I liked it too and also gave it 4 stars. I really liked Hayley and her badassness!
