This is an interview I'm looking for but cannot find.

"Inside the Actor's Studio" was that series which (I believe) ran on the Bravo Channel. The host was James Lipton.

Lipton so much resembled the "scholarly" archetype in his appearance and his demeanor. I am not sure how much of an academic he truly was; but it didn't matter. He looked the part even more so than Dick Cavett.

Cavett, a bonafide intellect --frankly I hardly ever saw his smarts in evidence. His popular show drew some of the biggest names but I rarely saw him get into any deep discussions. He was usually just a 'chatty Cathy'.

Whereas Lipton, was so earnest in his dealings with the big talents he met with, I was sorry to learn he has since passed on.

His interview with Lumet is one I'd like to see again. Lumet --a soft-spoken man --exhibits almost an arrogance when he discusses the topic of lenses.
