Sam now has a Secret Service detail following her because of the threat escalation following Nick’s announcement. Why was she so resistant to them when they were cooperating? Do you think she took Valerie’s admonishment to heart when she reminded her that they were fellow law enforcement officers?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments The Secret Service detail is another very visible reminder that her life in not totally her own. I think Valerie may have struck a nerve with that and Sam may have unbent, just a little, at this new perspective.

I just wish she didn’t need a reminder from a college student to do better. Nick supported the big concession to not force her to have a detail. When a threat level escalates, she should know better. I think Valerie did make her do a reality check.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with you Jonetta. Sam should know better. I agree with you both; Valerie did bring the issue front and center.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Omg! The ridiculousness of these situations...
It takes a naive college student to call Sam out on her BS...

Don't mind me, ladies. The last few books in this series have pushed me way past my tolerance level. Lol!

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I totally agree with you, Lauren. I have come to expect the far-fetched plots with this series and how Sam gets away with what no one in real life would.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Thanks Anita!

I understand your feelings. Like Anita, I expect it, so my brain skims by the ridiculous sometimes.

I wish my brain could skip over them. All I do for most of the book is roll my eyes, lol!

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I know what you're feeling, Lauren. I was getting very P.O.'d at Sam for the way she was acting. She ran onto the Metro without even telling her detail what was going on. I'm surprised one of them caught up with her before the train left.
