Sabotages and Boosts
* Each sabotage or boost can only be used once.
* Sabotaging is optional. It is not mandatory.
* No sabotages on Week 10.
* Only 1 sabotage will be effective for a receiving team each week. (In other words, if Teams 2, 3 and 7 all send a sabotage to Team 5, only 1 will be in effect. The first sabotage submitted for a specific team in the sabotaging team's weekly Completion Post will be accepted. You will lose your sabotage even if it doesn't affect a team.)
Flat Tire - this sabotage will limit 1 player on a team to read for 2 tasks

Rain Delay - this sabotage prevents 1 player from beginning to read on Wednesday; that player cannot begin reading until Friday

USED High Octane Fuel - this boost allows 2 players to read for a 4th task

Guest Driver - this boost adds a player to your team for 1 week (in other words, a player can read a 2nd book for up to 3 more tasks)

First of all, pick a name for your team, group, or squad.
Second, decide who will keep track of the team's claimed and completed tasks. It can be on a spreadsheet or here in a post.
Third, decide who will make the team's Completion Posts. (It can be one person, or you can take turns. The team's Completion Post can be posted as soon as everyone has reported. The latest the team Completion Post can be posted is Tuesday morning.)
Fourth, decide what strategy or method your team will use to read for the tasks.
Last of all, check your engine and tires, gather your crew (check out library books and charge your devices), purchase fuel (snacks and soda), and get ready for a great race!

Does anyone have suggestions for a catchy team name?
I won't mind keeping track of our progress unless someone else would like to do it. But is anyone good at creating a spreadsheet to keep track of the team's claimed and completed tasks.? I'm really bad at creating spreadsheets, I not ashamed to admit!
Why am I already feeling a bit overwhelmed? 😂😂😂
We just have to remember to start reading Wednesday morning, 12:01 a.m. (your time) and must finish and report your book by Monday night 11:59 p.m. your time.
Let's start our engines and head to the finish line!!

My names Masoodah and Im from the UK. I took part in the Oregon trail challenge before this so have taken part in a few team challenges previously.
I can create a spreadsheet but would prefer if someone else can do it. If nobody else can then I wouldnt mind doing it as a last resort.
For the posting of completion posts, we had a rule in the last challenge where the last person to post their completion in this thread would post on the completion thread. If this is okay with everyone unless someone has another suggestion?
I am excited to race :)

Rapid Reader Rally
Booked for Victory
The Accelera-Readers
Paperback Pacers
Fuel the Fiction
The Storyline Speedsters
I didnt think of these. ChatGPT all the way :P

I'm from India, and I did take part in the Oregon Trail Challenge before..
I dont think I'll be any good in creating a SS..
I like Booked for Victory, and Fuel the Fiction
If no one wants to do a SS, we can just use a post, but I would probably prefer a SS?
The last person to read for this week, posting our completion posts, sounds good

This might make some interesting reading for everyone; it's the Q&A for the challenge:

I like the idea of the last person to read for the week posting our completion post.

Let's vote as soon as Namita checks in.

Thanks Meg <3
I've used the spreadsheet kindly created by Fi and just altered with our names. The task total was not adding up so found a way to total it up. Perks of using excel at work! 😂
Created a little guide in the first tab of the SS- but if anyone struggles to complete the SS just let me know and I will input for you x

I like Speed Sirens, Born to Speed and Booked for Victory if i were to choose

I like the same names as you. Choices, choices... I think I'm leaning towards Speed Sirens; it's a compelling, catchy name.
I hope we hear from Namita soon. The start date is coming up!

I also requested access to the ss.
Let's pick a name today if we can.

Right!! A pretty diverse group. I'm originally from Fiji.

I second this idea. :)
Also would everyone like to claim their tasks on the spreadsheet? Or should we get one person to do everyone's. In my opinion, think it would be easier if everyone does it themselves though
However if anyone struggles with spreadsheets then I don't mind filling it in for them x

I need to let you know that I have adjusted a few of the Tags tasks. Star can now be plural if you'd like to use it that way. i.e., 5 star(s), 4 star(s), 3 star(s)

Thanks Lanelle :)

I believe I'll go with the following for Wednesday's read:
Name: Meg
Book and Author: Murder on St. Mark's Place, Victoria Thompson
Pages: 291p
Date Read:
Task: 1925 or earlier
How It Fits: Set at the turn of the century (i.e., late 1800s)
2nd Task: V
How It Fits: Author's first initial
3rd Task: Audiobook
How It Fits: Reading via audible audio

Under "tracking", I input my second task ("letters") under column "J". The drop down in column "K" doesn't have letters but rather the content for 'tags'. So I've left that space blank for now.
Also, on the Categories page, it won't let me tick "V". I suppose that's because I left column K blank?
I did shut the SS down, waited a couple minutes, then opened it up again.
