Donna (yourfavwordnerd) | 83 comments Yes. I started making it a practice to read almost every night. It's my quiet time. It does still keep me up at night. I'm already a night owl, so better this than miscellaneous sh*t. 😂

LaTravia | 1 comments Added! So glad to rediscover my love for a good book. I thought reading at night would help me fall asleep; but it’s been doing the complete opposite! I’m up as if I don’t have work tomorrow.
Happy reading!

message 7: by Donna (new)

Donna (yourfavwordnerd) | 83 comments Yes. I didn't realize it was a form of escape until a few years ago. As someone with mental health struggles, reading literally saves my life. There's always gonna be another book that I'll want to read. *in the voice of Miley Cyrus in her song "The Climb."

Kristi Smith-High (mskristireads) | 1 comments Hi, I’m Kristi!
After 10 years of homeschooling our kiddo, I’m finally returning to one of my first loves—reading for FUN—and it feels like coming home. I’m rebuilding my bookshelf, rediscovering all the stories I’ve missed, and diving deep into the genres I adore most.

I’m an original Twilight girl turned proud TwiMom (and yes, I still love it!). I stumbled across Fourth Wing during the 2025 Super Bowl and soon after met the High Lords of ACOTAR… now I’m fully in my Wingleader era. I love romantasy, contemporary romance, historical fiction, and stories that blend faith, heart, and a little bit of magic.

You’ll often find me swooning over slow burns, strong female leads, meaningful representation, and yes—shadowdaddies (though my real-life Shadow Daddy of 23+ years is the only one I truly stan).

You’ll also find me deep in the world of Christian fantasy and lore—from Narnia to The Prince Warriors series my son loves. I believe stories can inspire, challenge, and be a light in the dark.

Recent favorites include The Kingmaker by Kennedy Ryan, The Starlight Heir by Amalie Howard, and the Skyland series. I’m always up for bookish banter, emotional plot twists, and fangirling over fictional worlds.

Let’s connect, swap recs, and share this new chapter together—literally!

Donna (yourfavwordnerd) | 83 comments I'm not deep into fantasy, but I purchased The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe late last night. My 5th-grade teacher read it out loud to our class. I want to read the whole series, and I had brought the series home for free at a library event. Lion, Witch and Wardrobe was the only one missing, so that's why I had to purchase it. I also read a fantasy book a few months called The Book Eaters that I liked.
