MountainKat | 31599 comments Information required when posting your completion/s:

Task
Book/cover link
Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

MountainKat | 31599 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 13, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

Anastacia | 95 comments Thank you MountanKat! I do have a question - Most of the books I read are Audiobooks. I have a little baby so it’s the only way I can really enjoy books right now. What is the process for Audiobooks?

Audiobooks are fine, but for your completion posts you will still use the first edition Kindle page count (minimum 150 pages). I have no way to know what edition you actually read or listen to, so that is what is used for this challenge. 😊

Nice. Nice to meet everyone. We have to a put a favourite shelf up on a post. And also decide on a few specifics. Are we deciding ahead of it or just winging it? Does anyone want to be team captain?

We have to decide on name. My group were meet cutes last year. What does everyone think of going with that again?

Ines is one hour ahead of me
Anastasia is 8 hours behind
Ella 4 hours 30 mins ahead

This is gonna be strange doing this challenge with us all with different time zones. 😂

message 16: by Kat (new)

Kat (bookworm2017) | 943 comments Also noticed me and Ella both like Kendall Ryan, vi keeland, Lauren blakely , Penelope Ward, Christina lauren, Elle kennedy, Helena hunting. Does anyone else like these authors? I’ve looked at Anastasia and Ines list but not many on to be read so can’t compare,

message 17: by Ella (new)

Ella | 145 comments Hi, nice meeting all of you. In the morning I was running late for work but I wanted to check in so I left a tiny message.
I do not want to be the Team Captain so I'd be happy with anyone else.
I'm cool with any name too. Last time my team was named 'wooed by words'... I'm just excited to start this challenge 😁

So I don't mind being the team captain, unless someone is really wanting to do that. I'm new to this challenge, but I'm good and figuring stuff out LOL. Any specifics you think we need to iron out first?

Whatever Team Name works for me! I Chatgptd some team names (I won't be upset if you think they are stupid LOL):

- The Bookmark Bunch
- Well Read & Dangerous
- Team Plot Thickens
- Bards of the Bound Pages
- Shhh...We're Reading
- Chapter Crushers
- Booked & Busy

I'm still working on adding more, but here are my GR Shelves:
Romance
GR Bookclub Books

MountainKat | 31599 comments Thanks Anastacia for being team leader! It is mostly just organizational for this challenge, no real tracking needs. Anyone can post in the Q&A when your team is ready for a new task - usually the one to finish the last book. 😉

Hi MountainKat! What timezone are you in so I know when to look out for tasks, or when to submit task completion notes

message 24: by Ella (new)

Ella | 145 comments I was actually wondering the same thing.. it's already Sunday in India. I haven't started reading any book hoping to start with the first task. It's 1:20 a.m so i guess I'll pick my book when I wake up. Good night peeps 😴💤

MountainKat | 31599 comments Anastacia wrote: "Hi MountainKat! What timezone are you in so I know when to look out for tasks, or when to submit task completion notes"

I'm in SoCal - Pacific time. You can post in the Q&A that you are ready for a new task anytime. My goal is to check that thread at least twice a day, but often more often than that - once in the morning, usually around 10 AM my time and then again in the evening, usually 9ish. I don't anticipate being away except for the occasional day here and there through this challenge, but on those days I would probably be checking earlier in the morning and/or later in the evening.

We have to decide on these

Kat (bookworm2017) | 943 comments Task 1 - 0. Read a book honoring Earth Day.

Signups for this round closed on Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year. It is a worldwide event to raise awareness for environmental issues and encourage protection of the planet. To honor Earth Day, read a book with a 22 (combined, not separated) in the initial publication date OR read a book with both green AND blue on the cover, teams decide. If using the publication date option, make sure you use the initial publication date. If there is a date at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the initial publication date in your completion posts. If using the cover option, the qualifying covers need to have both blue AND green on the cover. They do not have to be the primary colors, but both must be present. You can use any edition’s cover as your qualification. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts. If in doubt, please ask.

message 28: by Kat (new)

Kat (bookworm2017) | 943 comments My option would be 22 combined as that to my understanding would be a book out in 2022. I’ve doubled checked though.

message 29: by Kat (new)

Kat (bookworm2017) | 943 comments Mountain Kats response They do not have to be a certain amount of either color, but both colors must be on the cover.

22 could be 2022 or the 22nd of any month.

So the first post with the list of tasks, what are we choosing from there? Are those the tasks we have to do? Or is this part of the first task?

If the first task is the Earth Day task, I also vote for 22, but not opposed to the colors. Do we have to all read the same book? Or do we choose are own?

All teams have the same task. We are choosing between blue and green on cover and 22 in publication date as long as combined so could be 22nd in the month or year 2022. We all read different books as long as 150 pages

message 32: by Anastacia (new)

Anastacia | 95 comments Okay, thank you! I got confused from the list of tasks you put before that. I didn’t know if we had to choose from those and do the Earth day one.

Oh sorry that’s stuff from the big list that we have to decide as a team

message 34: by Anastacia (new)

Anastacia | 95 comments Okey dokey! If the team decides to go with the publication date with 22 option - I am choosing "Things We Never Got Over"

Things We Never Got Over (Knockemout, #1) by Lucy Score

message 35: by Ella (new)

Ella | 145 comments I'm cool with 22 too. I'll go look for a book now

message 36: by Kat (new)

Kat (bookworm2017) | 943 comments I see that as the majority decision so I’ll go with

The Missing Wife (D.I. Sally Parker #7) by M.A. Comley The Missing Wife by M.A. Comley

message 43: by Inés (new)

Inés Guillén | 43 comments I choose the book "it stars with us". The author is Colleen Hoover and the publication date is 2022. Once I finish it, what do I do?

Kat (bookworm2017) | 943 comments Inés wrote: "I choose the book "it stars with us". The author is Colleen Hoover and the publication date is 2022. Once I finish it, what do I do?"

We have to use a book that we start from the date of the challenge you started on the 21st so you can’t use it

message 45: by Inés (new)

Inés Guillén | 43 comments Okeey, thank you! I will read “TODAS ESAS COSAS QUE TE DIRE MAÑANA”. The author is Elísabet Benavent . The date is 2022.

message 46: by Anastacia (new)

Anastacia | 95 comments So, from what I’m seeing, once you’ve completed the book, you will put a “Completion Post” in this thread. It will be like this:

Name of Task
Book link or cover
Page number & Source (i.e. 300 pgs kindle edition)
How the book qualified (i.e. published in 2022)
Date completed
Rating/Review

message 47: by Anastacia (new)

Anastacia | 95 comments Hey team! I’m going to change my book. I started the one I mentioned but I am not liking it. I’m switching to “Seeing Sound” by Albany Walker
