Hi Super Librarians,

I'm requesting help with correcting a few editions in The Wandering Inn series (https://www.goodreads.com/series/2654...). There are duplicate works where the current primary work has an ASIN that does not exist, while another edition has the correct, active ASIN and should be the primary instead.

Here are the details:

→ Please either merge the incorrect work into the correct one or delete the incorrect one. The correct edition should be the primary.

→ Same issue. Please merge or delete the incorrect listing. Correct edition should be primary.

Additional Note:
The titles have been updated per confirmation from the author's team. They now match the official Amazon listings and follow Goodreads' formatting guidelines.

Currently, even if I try to add the correct edition to the series manually using the correct ASIN, it reverts back to the incorrect work with the bad ASIN.

P.S. If there is something I'm missing, or some method I'm not seeing, please let me know!

Only the author can set the primary default edition.

Fae and Fare (The Wandering Inn, #2): Not done, covers are not identical

The Rains of Liscor (The Wandering Inn, #7): One of the editions seems to be for a different book. Splitting it does not require a superlibrarian. If you can't split it, split all the other editions away. Either way, this does not require a superlibrarian.

Blood of Liscor (The Wandering Inn, #8): I don't see any of those ASINs you mentioned. Where did you get them? I do see ASIN B0DVBB3PHN which is a bot ASIN so it can be removed and ASIN B0BLNWXRQK which is valid, so I am merging this one. With 2k shelves it would take some time.


As for your "Additional Note" I am not sure what you mean by "it reverts back to the incorrect work". If you mean that the primary edition reverts, that is obvious because you are not the author and cannot set the primary edition. Only the author can do that. Tell them to follow these instructions.

Even if I add ASIN B07XX888DN (the correct kindle edition) to the Wandering Inn series, the book with ASIN B0DTXGKNLF is the one that displays. ASIN B0DTXGKNLF doesn't actually show up on Amazon nor does the title match the amazon title (ie doesn't show Fae and Fare)

I think the issue is that this is a web serial that's being published on Amazon as actual books. So Volume 2 might line up with Book 2, but they aren't exactly the same. If someone checks out the series, clicks on Volume 2, and tries the "Buy on Amazon" link, they end up with "no results found." And also, the title of that edition, doesn't match the correct edition of the book ie Fae and Fare (The Wandering Inn, #2). If this isn't an issue and how it's suppose to work, my apologies.

You made a change and said it may take a while, so will wait a few days to see how those changes play out!

PS. This may be a case of splitting the editions. But this will also split the reviews?

Noted re primary work can only be edited by Author.

Thanks again for your assistance. This has definitely been the trickiest series I’ve had to edit, and I’m just trying to untangle the mess.

I don't understand your request. You already acknowledged that only the author can set the primary edition (maybe support can do that too, I don't know). What are you requesting superlibrarian help for?

The merge I did is already complete and recombined.
If an edition is in the wrong place, split it and combine it in the right place. You don't need superlibrarian help to do that.
We will not merge editions which have different formats or covers.

If you are not sure what to do, try the "Questions (from Librarians only)" folder.
