Lily | 2 comments Okay so I read The Secret History last summer and since then it's become my new personality trait. I didn't do a very academically intense course load in college, so I feel like I was able to live vicariously through these rich little bookworms. I also adored the setting of a small town in Vermont, and I feel like it really added to my love for the story.

Anyway, I finished reading If We Were Villains yesterday, and I've realized that the Dark Academia Murder Mystery is my new favorite micro-book genre (if that's a thing). Does anyone have any recs that have this similar vibe?

Kat ⋆.˚ ☾ .⭒˚ (katburgess) Babel, Blood Over Bright Haven, Never Let Me Go, The Queen's Gambit, A Starless Sea are my recs.

Babel definitely! and the Starless Sea is one of my all time favourites. However I don't think it really falls under the dark academia genre, but it's a must-read nevertheless. You can also check out Ninth House, though fair warning some things in this book are a little difficult to stomach.
