Break the Rules is the first book in the Vancouver Trident series and follows Ronan and Willow. Ronan is a star baseball player and single father. Willow works in the marketing department for the baseball team and is the owner's niece. Willow doesn’t date baseball players because she feels it would cause issues at work. Ronan doesn’t date due to having a young daughter at home, and only has short flings while on the road. These two have a one-night stand in Hawaii while Willow is there on vacation and Ronan is attending a wedding. She knows who he is, but he doesn't know she works for the Tridents. A few months later, Ronan is traded to her team, and the sparks are still there. But neither one of them can acknowledge the relationship.

When I needed to read a book about baseball, I decided to look for a sports romance. I really liked the main character, Ronan. He was a single father who had an adorable four year old daughter and a supportive mother. I thought he was quite romantic.

In my opinion, all sports romances are basically the same, but I did enjoy this more than I expected.
