Kai (kaioram) | 250 comments I could've sworn X was read for n posted, but now I don't see it on the spreadsheet.

message 55: by Kai (new)

Kai (kaioram) | 250 comments The word lanx means a large dish/plate especially in ancient Rome. So we could always use the N in hyena to place the word lanx. That is once x is read for.

Laura | 1983 comments Kai wrote: "I could've sworn X was read for n posted, but now I don't see it on the spreadsheet."

Someone said they were reading a book that worked for the letter X

message 57: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments Kai wrote: "The word lanx means a large dish/plate especially in ancient Rome. So we could always use the N in hyena to place the word lanx. That is once x is read for."

There's a couple of words that will give us more points while we wait for the x to be read for
Playing JOE down to the y will give us more points

message 58: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments Our h in hyena has already been scored but in scrabble if you play off the h you can count those points again so I've asked Saige about the scoring
If she counts the h again if we play off it then we would get more points placing the x elsewhere. Placing the x under the h and spelling axe with the e under h to make he is more points then Kai's suggestion
It would give us 24 points if we can count the h again

message 59: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments Not trying to dismiss your suggestion Kai just trying to put out more options with maximum points. I like word games, strategy and points!!

message 60: by Kai (new)

Kai (kaioram) | 250 comments Hi Laura! I can't always figure out what will be the best word, so when someone(s) can see better words or spots, I'm all for it!!

message 61: by Ivelisse (new)

Ivelisse | 1436 comments Is the buddy read the Juniper Hill?

message 62: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments Ivelisse wrote: "Is the buddy read the Juniper Hill?"

We are getting there. Reading the 0.5 book first then we will work our way through the series

message 63: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments Saige answered my question so if we put a s on the word hyena we will get points for hyena again plus the new word. I can't see yet where that gives us maximum points but it will eventually if we are patient.
If we play Joe down to the y we should get 28 points.

Hiya! Just wanted to drop in and clarify - now that we're past the first round, you don't need to read for all 10 letters before adding a new word. So if you'd like to spell something now without an X book, go ahead! Just remember that the letters don't disappear unless you use them, so you will need to read for X eventually

message 66: by Priya (new)

Priya (priyalovesreading) | 74 comments So we can use all the letters we have read so far and not used to make a new word right?

Banked is the perfect spot for it

Kai gave a suggestion and I gave a suggestion with more points and no one else piped in.
We are just stalled here waiting to make a word
The letters J O E gives us the most points right now if we play it down to the y.

Sorry I missed it. If JOE gives us more points, I'm all in for it. Whatever it takes to maximize.

message 74: by Kai (new)

message 75: by Kai (new)

message 76: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 519 comments I agree, also! We should always use the words with the most points.

message 77: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments I ' ve submitted to Saige our new word. She will give us new letters and we may find that we have those letters covered in our banked books. There s some nice page counts in those banked books and a buddy read which will eventually give us some good points.

The 0.5 book is good, I suspect we continue the series. I'll try to remember to give you a shout out when we get to where you left off. Or pop into our thread and keep an eye on the notifications (link is above)

Ivelisse's 700+ page book for the E
Jessica's 304 page book for the G
Megan's buddy read book for the R

I assumed you started it for this challenge? It shouldn't matter that you already started. Maybe you can pick something else up while Megan and I catch up

Or Megan and I can start this one first instead of City of Gods and Monsters

Kai (kaioram) | 250 comments A few new letters are up! Don't forget to look at ur banked books to see if you have any that fit. It looks like the 3 new letters can easily be covered!

I posted for the rest of our letters, can someone who is better at scrabble post what word we want to play. Because we have so many books in the bank, I'd recommend that once we have new letters whomever is around assigns and posts for those ones. Just make sure you delete books from the bank when they get posted so we don't try to use them twice.

message 95: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1983 comments The word that gives us the most points is GOX placed on F4, F5, F6

Happy to help, we don't have a Q but I posted for the other two letters.

Also for series title it's different, it's the letter it ends with, so make sure that's what you put as the option.
