Jason Oliver | 3046 comments I have a copy of an uncorrected proof of Atmosphere - Taylor Jenkins Reid.

I am afraid to read it because I am afraid of edits being made significantly enough to miss something or change the story. Can anyone shed any light?

Robin P | 5747 comments I think at that point it is usually grammatical issues, typos, etc.that would change, not the story. But I haven't actually used one, I'm sure some of our other members will know

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8414 comments I frequently get ARCs (Advance Reader Copy), which are uncorrected proofs. Robin is right. The book's story is pretty well set, but there may be typos or small word changes. (For example, the ARC might mention a "valise" while the final approved printed copy refers to a "suitcase.")

I read tons and tons of advanced reader copies. Usually, the worst thing I find is grammatical errors, and I barely notice them.

However, the last one I read, a name of a major character was changed. I wrote a whole review using the wrong name. It was very confusing. But that's the first time anything significant like that has ever happened.

Meanwhile, I'm a little jealous of the specific ARC you have. I'm going to see if I can get that on NetGalley.
