In need of some heartwrenching books!!

You've Reached Sam, I'm still reading it slowly bc every time I start I start bawling, and well, mascara.

Oona out of Order hit me hard and I still think of it often

I haven’t read it yet but I heard that ‘If he had been with me’ is really good, as well as very sad.

A song to drown rivers. As a person who rarely cries when reading, it was one of the most emotional endings ever.

I'll give you a great one. It's one of my favourites : The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Twice in a Lifetime by Melissa Baron. Has an HEA, romance, but more of a women’s lit fic book imo because the protagonist learns how to love and accept herself. Please be mindful of TW/CW for this book.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer will rip your heart out and stomp on it, but it's so good it's like if Romeo and juliet met alice in wonderland.

-Sunrise on the reaping
Though you have to read the hunger games trilogy first then the ballad of songbirds and snakes it all worth it once you get to sunrise on the reaping.

-A long way down
Whenever someone asks me to recommend a book I always seem to go to this one. It’s not exactly something to make you sob but it still hurts to read it.

-A little life
I personally haven’t read this one yet, but pretty much everyone says it’s the saddest book ever.

-Where the red fern grows
If you choose anything from this list choose this one. I listened to the audiobook and threw my headphones when I was at the ending😀

-All summer in a day (it’s only six pages)
I know it’s not a full on book but it’s still pretty sad.

I hope these are sad enough<3

Unwind, the whole series is very very sad. It’s a dystopian world

definitely the son of achillies i was sobingg for a week straight about this book it was probably the best book ive ever read and the sadest

'if we were villains' and 'My Dark Vanessa' had me hunting for more tissues and I did quite literally throw my book across the room (gently) a few times 'cause of how mad and how sad I was

These were some of the books not part of series that made me cry.
However if you want to read a long series, I’m on kingdom of ash in the throne of glass series and I am definitely crying because of it.

these violent delights series - chloe gong (mainly the last book)

i cried so hard reading Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and also while reading The Song of Achilles

The Last Letter had me sobbing. Multiple times throughout. Definitely recommended if that's what you're looking for. It is a romance though and there is some 🌶️ but not crazy. Just to warn you.

if you want something fantasy please read heartless by marissa meyer it literally ripped my heart out, ran it over with a car, and then gave it back to me im not kidding

the fault in our stars - popular, tear-jerker, also has a movie

looking for alaska - not as popular, drug use, kinda annoying @ end, has a show i think

turtles all the way down - my favorite book, descibes anxiety insanely well, not too much sad but i cried a few times.-->also has movie

Definitely the Boys of Tommen series, each book tore my heart out and I haven’t been able to get over them since. I would check the trigger warnings first though.

I absolutely sobbed at the end of The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. Broke my heart in half but such a good book 💕
