Jane and Colin are soulmates. He just doesn’t know it yet.

I do love that Zoe has grabbed on to her too. I wonder if there is more to Zoe as well. She reinvented herself, hiding from something. are these 2 more alike than we think?

and then now he's blocking her number and using her as a murder suspect alibi all while telling Zoe she's shoving herself into their lives

I still feel like it's Zoe - I just don't know why. Are they all setting Jane up? because of something she did in her past?

I STILL think Colin kissing her at the subway and then taking her back to her apartment was so odd. It's one of the parts that doesn't make sense.

I also don't understand why he blocked her number when he needed her to corroborate his alibi. Also, why was she never contacted by the police about Ben's death? So confused

OMG 😳😝 I started this on my roadtrip today, the audiobook, and made it 75% through before I got to my destination! I wasn't able to do regular updates bc I was driving, so will probably just respond to your thoughts, but...I was not expecting this to be as f*ed up as it is! 🤣🤣

Oh my gosh, I agree! The author did an amazing job with the characterization for Jane, Colin and Zoe, because (view spoiler)[as odd as all of their behavior is, I found it sooo believable! It's like a train wreck watching it all unfold-- I couldn't look away! (hide spoiler)]

Yeahhhh, for sure! I was starting to think that (view spoiler)[Colin is a murderer, saw the same in Jane, and is manipulating her somehow. I was actually thinking Leigh isn't real, it's either Jane or Colin, but then Zoe supposedly got the phone call ftom Leigh. But you're right, Zoe is super sus as well. I have no clue what is going on! Did Jane kill Ben using her extra key and Colin just stumbled upon it, or did he actually kill Ben!? Or did Zoe!? (hide spoiler)]

It was interesting at the end -- how (view spoiler)[Zoe was on to him and planned this whole thing to get him back for what she think he did to her friend, and then that Zoe even stole each of their phones to send communications -- she probably had both Jane and Colin so confused they didn't know what the heck was going on and they killed him? Is that what I am assumed happened, we know he didn't just disappear. It was dark than I anticipated based on the cover, however I did feel it got a bit muddled at the end. The way it all played out seemed confusing. Even when the girls showed up at Colin's parents, like that whole thing felt surreal. Either way, it was entertaining for my roadtrip! (hide spoiler)]

Done!! Sort of a mixed bag, kind of muddy waters towards the end, but overall and entertaining read. I liked how messy it was. Hahahahhaa

I'm dictating this so warning if the wording is odd. My health is bad and screens are difficult but thats boring. Just start in this one and the prologue is very melodramatic! Hope the writing gets less intense lol.

I know I should be intrigued about Colin and also the hints about Jane's backstory, and how Zoe created herself new when she got to the city but ATM I just don't care about any of them enough LOL. That's really interesting! I found the characterisation (view spoiler)[ pretty awful; I didn't feel like I could believe in any of them at this point, except maybe Zoe... and I PARTICULARLY couldn't get behind Jane. It felt like she was being SO FAKE. Which she was... just not in the way she was supposed to be... (hide spoiler)]

Also finished and... yeah, undecided, I guess? (view spoiler)[ It certainly took a wild turn! But I was so fed up after the first half I was super glad for them to being doing anything because I wanted to throttle them all - or, less active than that. I just didn't actually CARE about any of them *shrug*

So, yeah, definitely wild turn. And I liked the second half better. I thought Zoe was definitely messing with them, and predicted the 'six months later' part - not exactly, but I figured that her friend hadn't been murdered, and she was out for vengeance for her own reason.

Agree about the plot points you said not making sense! 3 key things - didn't get Colin taking her back albeit briefly; WHY wasn't she contacted by the police about Ben; and why did Colin block her number?? I'm either missing something or it just felt really untidy. (hide spoiler)] Honestly, I'm glad this was such a fast read because I really just didn't enjoy it.

Very muddy waters lol. And the messiness just made me cross LOL. Well, at least one of us liked it! And I think Trish liked it better than I did from reading your review, Trish... about to write mine - and it's hard to say much without spoilers, but I basically found it sloppy...

Bless you, thank you. I'm able to type now - which is an improvement! But I'm still trying to limit screen time (and page time actually), so all my ARCs are going to be even later than usual :( And my TBR ain't getting any smaller! Trying to stick to audios for the time being.

I read this as well... maybe if we'd listened we just wouldn't have noticed all the massive plot holes? :P

I listened while driving for 4-hours, so it did keep me entertained. The narration was good. I never knew what was coming next, that's for sure. LOL

I did notice the plot holes, but whilst sitting in Boston traffic for 1-hour and 45-minutes, they didn't seem so annoying compared to what was going on around me, I guess. Hahahhaa
