Precious | 3 comments I’ve been diving into a mix of stories lately—romantic, magical, revolutionary, and soul-stretching. Most of what I’ve picked up has been by Black authors (intentional or not, it’s been feeding me). Whether you’re into fantasy, love stories, real history, or cosmic chaos—I probably have a book in common with you.

🖤 Some of the ones I’ve read or am reading:
• Fannie Lou Hamer by Maegan Parker Brooks
• Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers
• Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn
• Blood Debts by Terry J. Benton-Walker
• Blood at the Root by LaDarrion Williams
• Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
• Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
• Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
• Dune by Frank Herbert
• The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

🌀 Always down to talk characters we love, themes that stayed with you, or drop recs if you’re looking for your next read.

If we’ve read any of the same books—or if something on this list is on your TBR—come say hi! Would love to follow some of y’all and build up my Goodreads friends too 🫶🏾📖

Danielle Wilson (dani_dumplin) | 8 comments I've read Blood at the Root and can't wait for the 2nd book to come out. I've heard Parable of the Sower was hard to get through but I still want to check it out.

Precious | 3 comments Y’all really came through in the best way 🫶🏾 thank you for sharing your reads and vibes!

Parable of the Sower stays in my top 5—Octavia didn’t miss. I’m planning to read the second one, Talents, soon too.

And yes to Blood at the Root! I’ve been waiting on that second drop—Bones at the Crossroads—like it’s a reunion show 😂 Drops July 29, so if anyone’s tryna do a buddy read or scream about it later, I’m down.

Also, if Dune is on your maybe list… go for it when you’re ready. It surprised me in the best way.
