kselb23 | 1 comments Has anyone read the new Caught Up that came out today? I’m 67% in and it’s a great book so far, but Lights out was better in my opinion. Any Book Recs like Lights Out (I also liked Haunting Adeline)?

But the whole legacy of gods by rina Kent is really good

Nadja ♡ (th3secrethistory) | 38 comments If you want something closer to Lights Out in terms of a dark rom-com there's the Ruinous Love trilogy starting with Butcher and Blackbird

Abby | 1 comments Currently reading caught up and it is good but lights out in my opinion was better, the spice is there for sure but I just found out now reading caught up is I prefer the stalker trope vs mafia trope.

I'm honestly not enjoying Caught Up at all. Doesn't feel like the same author wrote the book. What happened to that dark humour and plot??

Jay (bookdragon29) | 131 comments Shark Bait by Milana Jacks is a "lite" dark romance. Really fun. The MC are hilarious

Karen Denise Foster | 150 comments I just finished Caught Up. I loved Lights Out. I thought it was hilarious, witty and full of chemistry. But this one was hard to get through. It didn't have any of those for me.

This one seemed to drag on and on. Every scene was a rinse-and-repeat cycle of doubt, defensiveness, over-analysis, and self-sabotage. Plus, this was dubbed mafia, why? I am not shelfing this as mafia, because it wasn't in any way, shape or form.

I don't know if the author just tried to make it so different she lost her way, or maybe she just didn't take enough time to flesh out the story. I'm glad it wasn’t a copy and paste of Lights Out. I am happy that it was different. But this book was missing that something special which was sprinkled throughout in the previous book.

I will be really torn as to whether or not I read book three now.

Sam Celaya | 3 comments Lights Out was amazing. I loved every page of it. Caught Up was anything but. Idk why the author decided to add some woke stuff and it was honestly very confusing. There was no suspense or climatic ending. I didn't enjoy it and found it boring to get through. I'm mad I used an audible credit for this. I was so excited to read it because I was obsessed with Lights Out. Caught up had little to no mafia style to it and barely any biker stuff too.

Chasie 🦋 | 10 comments Lights Out was one of my fave reads last year and I ended up DNfing Caught Up. and not bc it’s ‘woke’ (pronouns and sex work are not political/woke……….🙄) but i just didn’t think it was good. it just kept draaaggging and didn’t feel like the same author, also no biker stuff 💔

Jessica | 9 comments I didn't really care for Caught Up, I thought Lights out was good but I read it after reading Butcher & Blackbird which I thought was way better.

Sabrina | 1 comments Caught Up was a good read, but Lights Out was damn near perfect. Someone already mentioned this serious but Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver was an awesome listen, if you’re into audiobooks. It’s so well done and the humor is there. But the gut wrenching lovely bits are all there covered in blood and I really feel in love with each story. It’s a great trilogy. None of them disappointed, I think them measured up to the first.

Laura Rosoux | 3 comments I absolutely loved Lights Out, I do agree that the second book was less enjoyable and didn’t have the same feel. I would love some recommendations of other books like Lights out - the dark sexy rom-com I love it so much!!! I also loved Nocticadia by KERI. LAKE - has anyone read it??

I loved Nocticadia and Anathema, Master of Salt and Bones was really good too. I didn't really care for Nightshade though.

If you haven't read Butcher & Blackbird yet, I highly recommend. I loved the banter between Sloane & Rowan so much more than Aly & Josh.
