Tawnya | 4045 comments I have a suggestion that I am unsure if it can be implemented. If it can, then perhaps the number of books in the wrong folders would decrease.

Right now, the names of the folder (which yes, for the most part should be self-explanatory) are all that people see. Perhaps instead of a pinned comment that explains what the folder is for, also include directly under the title the purpose for each folder. I mean even if the pull-down is closed. Add in that some of the folders do not even have an explainer on them, it is no wonder users (and some librarians) do not understand the purpose for them.

Maybe then people will understand what the supers actually do. They seem to think because it has the term “super” in the name, well then by golly that is who needs to help me. Ugh.

I understand accidentally creating a request in the wrong folder. During my first week I did it myself. I have no clue how, since I wasn’t in the folder where it went. That was using my desktop computer. I do not use my smartphone for anything other than calling, not texting (I am a Luddite), my daughter, so I have no idea what the folders look like on the app. I am unsure if the term “app” is used for laptops and tablets.

I created mock-ups of what it could look like. I included images with the folders both closed and opened. The message should be eye-catching like the red in the example.

Have some of the folders use this generic explanation:

Policies & Practices
This folder is not for issues with books. Please use the appropriate folder.

Additions to Librarian Manual
This folder is not for issues with books. Please use the appropriate folder.

I really wish that those were only accessible to staff. We have a folder for us to ask questions. I would also suggest freezing all of the thread that are older than a year. If even I can add links to comments, then anyone can. There is no reason for a dead thread from over a decade ago to be bumped to the front.

Anyway, it was just something I figured I would throw out there. I am sure the supers would appreciate their folder to be used for its actual purpose.

I have seen where people have the image imbedded in the message. I do not know how to do that. If anyone want to tell me how, I would be grateful.

Scott | 8752 comments Here is how to insert an image to a message:

https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/html/ho...

You don't need the alternate part at the end.

To get the URL for the image, right click on the image and select "copy image link." Then paste it into the quotes.

Tawnya | 4045 comments Thank you, Scott!. I didn't mean for them to be quite so large, that is my next endeavor.

But at least it does show how it would look in practice.

Tawnya | 4045 comments Question...
If I delete the images from my profile will they go away here as well or does it act like when we use readers' images for covers?

Scott | 8752 comments If you delete them from your images they will disappear here. The html is drawing the image from the source, not reproducing it.
