stefanny (stvfannys) | 3 comments I've had this question for months now and after finally finishing "The Boys". Well, how about the comics, would any of you recommend reading them? Are they bad or not? I've read that they're bad, but I dunno

Chad | 1403 comments I really liked them. They are extremely violent.

Adam M (adamagain) | 66 comments I think the comic isn't for everyone and some people have a hard time with that. I've seen reviews where people didn't love the dialogue from Garth Ennis, others where they were put off by the art from Darick Robertson, while some people say it's their favorite of all time. I personally enjoyed most of it, but I had trouble in the middle. I can understand most of the criticisms I've heard, but they were also largely subjective. Give volume 1 a shot, you'll know from there if you want to stick with it and as an introduction it's a pretty compelling book.

Chad | 1403 comments The whole series is available on hoopla. I'd check out the first omnibus and see if you like it before spending money on it.

Mathew | 13 comments I also really enjoyed them. The comics are different enough from the TV show that they're worth reading. As stated above, they are pretty graphic both in art and theme. The grit is part of what makes them great, but might make them not be ideal for a binge read.

I personally loved the idea that the supers are also just people, most of whom have A LOT of issues and beyond their image, are no Hero at all.
