I’m RahJah. I’ve been on Goodreads and part of this group for a while, but I haven’t really had the chance to navigate it fully so I’m excited to finally jump into the conversations!

I gravitate toward psychological thrillers, but I’m open to all genres. I love suspense, anticipation, and a big reveal no matter the genre, sometimes I have to stop myself from skipping ahead just to see what happens next! I love fragrances, so when I’m not reading, I’m probably pairing a perfume to a mood, outfit, or a book because every scent has a story!

Looking forward to swapping recs, joining discussions, and connecting with fellow book lovers!

Welcome, Rahjah! I am so glad that you decided to jump into the conversation. What made you decide that now was the time to jump into things? I see you joined our group in April of 2024.

Psychological thrillers can be fun. I am a mood reader, so I can see the draw to them. I get in the mood for them, and I have to follow that mood. Otherwise, I get into a rut.

That is very interesting about fragrances having a story. I never thought of it that way. I am very careful with perfumes because I am allergic to a lot of them, but I will probably think about what story goes with the next one that I smell. Thanks for sharing!

In the meantime, I hope you are finding things to do around HOB. We have made a LOT of changes since you signed up last year. Check out Benedicte's Step by Step Guide for New Members for more details.

Hi! I am Jessica and you can call me just like that, or by my nickname Jay.
I am from Tuscany, in Italy, but I think I will be fine with the English… or at least I hope so. 😂
I read almost anything. I go from romance, to fantasy, to classic and contemporary novels more or less raw regarding the truths of human existence, to thrillers. I love spacing out with my readings.
My all time favorite book is The Virgins Suicide by Jeffrey Eugenides, a coming-of-age thriller novel that talks about this group of sisters that want to find a way out from their super religious mother and absent father. Is written by the point of view of a boy that knows them. And is very moving. And this book helped me throughout a very dark time. It made me see various things so clearly.
When I am not reading I enjoy going out with my parents or with my boyfriend, playing with board games, going shopping, going to the gym, listening to the music and watching Netflix.
I hope to get a lot of book recommendation, to give other good recommendation, and to see if I will finally could read more than the little bit of pages I read now everyday.

Hi everyone, thanks for the add! 🥰🥰. My name is Elizabeth and I love reading YA, thrillers, mystery, horror and fantasy!! The only genre I’m not too into is autobiographies. I run a book club in my county and each month someone new gets to pick the book so we all experience something we wouldn’t usually read. When I’m not reading, I love swimming, hot tubing, hot springs, paddle boarding, kayaking (anything water related really), camping with my family and friends, movie nights and game nights! I’m excited to get some new friends and explore books I wouldn’t know about or think to read 😁😍

Thank you for your warm welcome Benedict! The name of my cat is Lilo, a lovely girl who turns 16 in August. She has been living with me since I was 9 years old (I’m now 25). My bunnies are called Pip and Lily. They are adorable except for the chewing part😂 they tend to chew on literally every single thing I own (they damaged two books of mine🥲) still trying to figure out how I make them to chew on the things they are allowed to chew on haha. I did discover that they love sweet bamboo sticks, but if you have more tips, please share😂 what are the names of your buns?

I can relate on the chewing part, LOL! 🤣 I’ve had my good share of nibbled books… I don’t have any advice except keep them somewhere they have nothing to chew. I have them in my kitchen and I let them out only under supervision. Their names are Luna and Noisette (hazelnut in French)

What a lovely names! My parents’ cat is called Luna as well😊

One of my best friends also have ADHD and they are often all over the place with reading too! There is certainly something being loose with your reading and without a plan that is exciting 😄

I read The House in the Cerulean Sea, my first T.J. Klune book last month, and I loved it! It was so cozy, it felt like the book was giving me a big teddy-bear hug. Now I can't wait to read more of his books!

📚 Fantasy, Y/A and Thrillers are some of my favorite genres to read and hope to find some fun co-reading buddies!

While I do love to read, I have recently started learning more about the craft of writing fiction, so I can get my story on paper with more structure. ✍️ Any other aspiring authors here?

Apart from that I am passionate in drawing and cooking 🧑‍🍳 , binging series on Netflix (Sherlock will be forever one of my favorites) - I love cats and being outside swimming or biking.
I will however stop for any cat crossing my path for some pets 🐈‍⬛

Hi, I’m Leo. My favorite genre is Fantasy Romance Books (They’re just so good). Though, my favorite ones are not fit in this genre.

They are: The Art of being Normal by Lisa Williamson (Fully recommend it, so beautiful, inspiring and perfect to tear your heart apart), the Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (it gets you addicted to keep reading. I finished reading it at 2 am on a laboral day) and They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera (do I have to really comment this one? I think the title gives it away).

I’m currently enjoying Powerless by Lauren Roberts. Really beautiful.

And if I’m not reading, it’s because I’m looking for something to read.

Fantasy Romance definitely has an appeal! It is my comfort genre that I often go back to when I have had a bad week and need a break. Something about dreaming myself away in the fantasy worlds make me forget all my worries ✨

I like a wide assortment but especially historical, science fiction, horror, and romance.

I would probably say my favorite is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte also the first 3 books of the In Death series by JD Robb.

Being with my dog and listening to true crime podcasts.

I like seeing what others thought of books that I have read, but I also like seeing what other books others are recommending.

I am so sorry for my late response, I saw your message while I was out and thought I would respond when I got home, but then I completely forgot about it! 😣

Wow, the Great Smoky Mountains! You must have some fantastic hiking trails nearby! I actually have a wildlife camera for fun, and sometimes I go out to the forest and set it up for the night. I find it sooo exciting to check it and see all the animals that have walked by!

Oof, horror and thrillers... I am very easily scared, so these some of the only genres I try to stay away from. But it's great to know that you enjoy them!

I’m Sarah I like to be called Sarah lol. I’m from Suffolk in east Anglia in the UK live in a seaside town. I would say I like to read thrillers the most I like unraveling the mystery trying to guess what’s going to happen then being shocked with the twists and turns that follow. My all time favourite book is Charlie and the chocolate factory every time I read it takes me to magical place and yes I love chocolate.
