Challenge Corner discussion

Eva Kitt never expected to be the host of Sausage Talk, interviewing B-list celebrities over lukewarm hot dogs, instead of pursuing the journalism career she dreamed of. But when Eva’s impromptu public call out of her college ex goes viral, she’s thrust into the spotlight. It doesn’t help said ex is Rylie Cooper, a beloved social media personality that has built a platform on deconstructing toxic masculinity and teaching men how to be good partners.

Forced to confront Rylie on a live episode of Sausage Talk, he offers Eva a deal: allow him to take her on a series of dates to make up for his toxic behavior, then debrief them on his channel to show he’s changed. Eva refuses to play nice, but agrees to the scheme to advance her own career and continue defaming Rylie’s good name. When these manufactured dates start to feel real, Eva has to wonder if the boy that broke her heart has become the man that might heal it.

I did start this one tonight though, but no pressure, I'm still way behind you on a few others. I just needed a lighter read after quite a few dark ones in a row!

To Ch 7: Right away, I am pulled in. I love always love Eddings humor and banter, also how she writes the thoughts of her main characters. I always find them so endearing. The set-up of this has been fun. I enjoy stories involving (view spoiler)[celebrities of any kind, and Rylie is being set up that way. I'm also loving the concept of the 6-dates for him to redeem himself for her. And of course, loving the bi-rep! (hide spoiler)] I'm looking forward to continuing with the audio tomorrow -- I think this is going to be a very quick read!

Done! I really had fun with this. I loved Riley, and Eva, though I had moments of frustration with her, I really loved her too. Good conclusion 💜☺️

glad you enjoyed this, too! i thought it was really sweet and i thought they had great communication and chemistry.

...and I don't know that person. Hahhaha, I wonder if the author has ever spoken about if she was inspired by any real life social media personalities for this one!

but she still seems a little open to it! lol I hope she gets the chance to finally ask him why he ghosted her. it sounds like he was going through something (not that that makes it right)

the date did sound interesting on paper but like a nightmare to actually try and do. I wonder what was supposed to be after the helicopter. Did he ever plan to get her coffee? lol (hide spoiler)]
