How do you deal with a reading slump?

Also, reading long series exhausts me and whenever that happens I'll refrain from starting another series. I'll change to reading standalones and I switch between genres a bit.

I'm in a reading slump right now, and I don't have any motivation to read. I picked up only two books last month, and it took 10 working business days to finish one. I can't even say if it was me THE PROBELM or the book. 😬

You know, choosing a particular spot in the house to read that particular book, with particular clothes/music/drink, like choosing to be more within the atmosphere that I think suits my read. 🌼 Helps to get more involved with it and if the read is not one of the best-best helps to make it still way more enjoyable!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have read the Edge of Darkness series by Leigh Rivers. Is that the one you are suggesting?
As for Ella Jacobs. She's really good, however, the two books I have read by her blew up in the end with the FMC not having a HEA or HFN. Does the Enslaved series have a good ending. I love the fight up to the end, darker the better, but I definitely need a good ending for the FMC, especially right now.

Hi. I have read In His Cage and Delivered To The Devil. The writing in both was excellent, but the ending for me didn't do it. You can read my reviews to see why I felt that way. Both could have been 5 star reads with a better ending. A lot of readers like these books and have no issue with the endings. At one point I probably wouldn't have either, but I just need more hope now. One of the reasons I read what I do is I like to see the FMC broken down and then she gets built back up. Gives me the dark I like and the hope I need. You might like both of these, not sure what you think of as an HEA or HFN.

Its not like I havent picked up a good book- in fact, the one im currently reading is actually quite decent. But no matter how how good it is, I just cant seem to get into it. I have zero motivation to read, I keep putting it down after a few pages. What have helped you get out of it? Hope im not alone in this
