Justina:) | 5 comments Hi, I just need to share something because I have no one to talk to about this.
My friends don’t read, so they clearly don’t get it when I try to explain.
I started reading fantasy and romantasy earlier this year, and honestly, I haven’t been able to stop.
The feelings it gives me are simply unmatched. It’s like I’m living someone else’s life completely.

When I get deep into these books, the characters, their problems, their worlds, I catch myself thinking:
"I can’t believe I’m here, in this life, while someone else is living that."
Of course I know it’s fiction, that most of it doesn’t really exist, but still… I think,
look at everything they’re going through, the world they live in,
and here I am, stuck in a world where I was basically born to study, work, reproduce, and die.
Like there’s nothing more beyond that.

Sometimes I feel like I was born to rescue my husband from my mother’s grasp in Solis.
That I was meant to sacrifice myself as a human to break the curse on all the fae so they could bring me back as one of them.
That I was meant to stop my boyfriend’s evil brothers from destroying the realms.
To help the devil break his curse.
To bond with a dragon.

If you’ve ever felt this too, like you belong in the pages more than in real life, then maybe we’re not alone after all.

Wolfie (enchanted_prose) | 18 comments I absolutely get it love. There are many people who won’t understand this feeling, but luckily there are also people out there who can absolutely understand you. There is no better feeling than getting truly absorbed into another world and life of a book. I have many people in my life who also don’t understand it, but I find it makes it a more special feeling for myself.

⠀۶ৎAbby۶ৎ | 5 comments I completely understand you i love reading and i read all the time at school and i go to tell one of my friends about my book and they look at me weird and tell me to live in the real world but it’s so much easier pretending your in book and not having to deal with homework, judgy friends and real world problems.

Wini Fara (winifara) | 4 comments I understand. I have been reading fantasy since I was a kid and that is exactly what has always drawn me to it. The desire to be something more. I feel like Belle from Beauty and the Beast in wanting more in life.

Azelea | 3 comments When I was younger, I had more of these thoughts and I would imagine myself in the stories, like an extra character. Then I would have to come to the real world and be disappointed lol. Now I get immersed in their world, disconnected from reality, and it's the best feeling! The disappointment has disappeared to some extent. Although I would love to live in a world with magic, dragons and mystical creatures.

I get you for real!! I love reading and I have friends who don't read because they would rather go to social media or text instead. Reading isn't just words on paper. It is an amazing journey where you get to be with the characters and experience their life decisions with them. I love fantasy and romantasy, and I SO get you girl!

Georgia Scott | 14 comments I get what you're saying. While reading I've often felt more of a connection to characters that the flesh and blood people I know. Is is passion? Thought? Resilience? Humor? All of these, I think. Books have saved me. You're not alone.
