I've read three by him, and liked two at 3 stars plus one at 4 stars, but I'm not usually a very high rater.

This one was mixed for me as well, but for somewhat different reasons.

I love the Wayward Pines series, so I hold great hopes for this!

It doesn't matter if you understand the science, because it's fiction and you can't actually travel through time this way. It makes a good vehicle because it sounds like it might be possible.
Just one problem is that the earth has never even been close to being in the same place twice in the entire existence of life on earth, so the earth was too far away to move back if it were possible. I have deleted far too much information I typed about this.

Unlike Valerie, I did not think of that as the potential ending, and I was very moved by the choice that was made.
Obviously, there is so much symbolism about the importance of the connections we make in our lives, that finding "our people" makes any journey worthwhile, the life you envision for yourself is worth fighting for, how taking the "road not traveled" can make a huge difference in how our lives play out, etc. I enjoyed all of that!
The "science"? Yeah, I didn't even bother to try to understand it. I just went along for the ride.

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!
Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.
Here are some questions to help get the conversation started! Feel free to look up discussion questions specific to this book or come up with your own. Just make sure any questions that contain spoilers are under spoiler tags.
Discussion questions are not required but may be a fun way to talk about the book and get to know each other!
