They are high school sweethearts and the MMC is also friends with the FMC‘s brother. they are getting ready for college or they finished up college and she goes to New York City and gets assaulted. The brother and MMC are sports players and they go to the hospital to be with her, but she runs away because she also is scared. There is a time jump and then she returns into their lives. This is book one of an interconnected series and the brother also gets a book but so does the MMC‘s cousin who also helps try to find her at one point I know the book for the MMC‘s cousin is a pregnancy book and a brothers book. He dates the FMCs friend.
