Christian Readers discussion

I am trying to find / remember a Christian fiction book i read written no later than 1985. It was a christian detective series ( maybe only a few books). I think the detective was some kind of distant relation to sherlock holmes or watson. Not a teen detective series. The one book i really remember the gist was based on young man that was cryogenically frozen for many years and the spiritual and mental torment it created. It was a very thought provoking. I would like to read it again with more mature insight. I was about 17 when it came out as new Christian fiction. Any help is appreciated.
