Junie (junie3) | 4 comments Hey guys,
I'm in need of some bookish friends and book recommendations. I love banter and spice (the spicier. better 5).
So far this year my five star reads are :
Pen pal & Carnal Urges by JT Geissinger
Wolfe by Paisley Hope
Lights out by Navessa Allen

I’m having hard time finding black dark romance authors.

Brit (brittnicolle) | 12 comments I love spicy black love and when I try to explain it to international people, they assume I'm saying dark romance, so I have to explain the difference.

I'm waiting in a Libby queue for Pen Pal to be available for me, but I liked the male lead of Lights Out.

Here are some recommendations you might like. Some of these I've read while others are on my TBR:
Curvy Girl Summer (#1) by Danielle Allen
Plus Size Player (#2) by Danielle Allen
Mega Man by Mel Dau
Taming Kane by Tessa Stone
Broken Clocks by Danielle Allen
The Mindfuck series (not a black author)

Junie (junie3) | 4 comments Thank you. I’ve been seeing Danielle Allen pop up on my feed a lot. I may check her out when I feel like reading something light. What’s Libby?

Thema | 12 comments If you like ebooks from your library, Libby is the app that all the public libraries use. There can be long holds for books though, so Libby works best if you have a bunch of library cards.

Brit (brittnicolle) | 12 comments Libby and Hoopla are free reading apps used by many (not all) public libraries. They have both eBooks and audiobooks. I prefer audiobooks. This way I don't have to pay for everything I read.

As far as the holds go, it depends on the book, how rare it is, and how many copies a specific library has. I have 15 library cards connected to Libby.

Junie (junie3) | 4 comments I downloaded Libby but how are yall getting these library cards? Getting a library card from my library cost me $25.

Thema | 12 comments Check the rules for all the libraries in your state. Some may give you a card just for living in the state even if you’re not in their specific service area. Also, find out if your libraries have reciprocal borrowing agreements. If you can get a card from one library, then you can get a card from all the libraries in their agreement. And if you have friends and family in other states, check if their libraries offer ecards without requiring you to appear in person and ask if you can use their address to get a card. I have 9 library cards.

Brit (brittnicolle) | 12 comments $25 is crazy, I hope you're able to get some for free. I did what Thema did. I'm looking to add more libraries to the repertoire.

Also, I found a black dark romance book on Goodreads: Plié by A.H. Cunningham
Looks 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

Brit (brittnicolle) | 12 comments 8 is still impressive! Helps broaden the trajectory of book availability
