WARRIORS: Shifting Shores discussion

That said I don't know how clan names with their prefixes and suffixes work, could someone please explain those to me?

So, cats in the warrior series are given a prefix at birth that ends in -kit. EX: Snowkit, Bronzekit. When they reach 6 moons and become an apprentice they get a new name (EX: Snowpaw, Bronzepaw.) When they finish training and become a warrior they get their name (Snowflake, Bronzeclaw, etc etc). Did I miss anything mods?

disclaimer that i've only read the first four warriors books (on book 5 now!) but i got here before rory so 🤪 answering anyway
1. alpha got that exactly right, thank you! names are granted to a cat by the clan leader during naming ceremonies. they start out with the suffix -kit as babies then -paw as an apprentice then a full unique suffix after the naming ceremony where they become a warrior or medicine cat. both name parts are decided based on physical appearance, personality traits, things that make them unique, pretty much whatever you'd want
you can find a list of prefixes and suffixes here: https://wcrpforums.com/thread/58807/w...
2. this i am less sure on as it varies from cat to cat. the cat becomes a full warrior as soon as they have a full understanding of the warrior code and are proficient in hunting and fighting. generally, this happens around 10-12 moons old (and moons is just the warriors way of saying months)

1. yes! we have a handful of loners/rogues living on the isolated isles
2. oops! we actually forgot to make a page for that! sorry!! i will go ahead and make that now and edit this with a link here!
thank you to everyone who answered questions! i added some of these to the creation guide! sorry for the confusion or lack of some explanations <3

You’re already four books ahead than me who hasn’t read any yet XD but they do sound interesting so I might check them out next year!!
That list is SO needed!!! Ty!! I’ll probably be referring to it quite a bit once I properly get down to creating characters!!!
So lit, paw and then whatever permanent name they get! Makes sense! I’ll keep that in mind!!
Ty!! I wanted my oathbringer cat to be somewhat new so I wasn’t sure what’s the youngest I could make her so just wanted confirmation!!

small question, i may have skimmed over this by accident and just not noticed, but do we need to use the original warriors prefixes, or can we come up with any new ones, as long as they're not something totally wild?
