The shelves were lined with groceries- although they were all out of date. The eggs just smelt rancid and i didn't realize until i went to check everything out. The milk was chunky and almost had a green hue to it. I choked back bile as I passed since the smell was just horrid. I walked aisle after aisle of food, drinks and everything but it was all ruined, all changed with the test of time.

My eyes seemed to burn, and the reek of cleaning chemicals and the spoiled everything made bile rise in my throat. I saw a bucket and rushed towards it, wanting to throw up, although the water in the bucket was a murky brown, like it had been sitting in there for well….decades. I could feel the bile touching the back of my tongue and I heaved and it all came spilling forwards, coating the entire bucket, and some of the already covered floor.

I got back up, my stomach empty as I tried to keep shopping, it almost felt like a fever dream. I touched a book, picking it up. They seemed fine, a bit of water damage but okay. “This…place- its god awful…” I choked under my breath, a lump seeming to be growing in my throat. I heard a rustling noise- although the doors were wide open so i assumed it was well an animal, like a deer or something.
