Appearance

Cat Breed: Selkirk Rex

The Selkirk Rex is a medium to large cat breed. Male cats weigh between 12-15 pounds (5.4-6.8 kg) while female cats weigh between 7-12 pounds (3.2-5.4 kg). Shelkirk's have curly plush coats and curly whiskers. Their average lifespan is between 12 and 15 years (144 and 180 moons).

Slothstar is a blue grey tomcat. He weighs about 14 pounds. He has plush curly fur and white curly whiskers. His eyes are light grey. His claws and teeth are white.

Personality

Slothstar is outright an agreeable clan leader. Many of his decisions are the logically correct ones for the clans well-being. In addition, he's a great companion to have when he's in his element with advice for warriors and stories for kits. He has a bad habit of absentmindedness that often causes his attention to drift away from his conversation or mission. Often in situations that cause absentminded consideration, he will brush of his warriors bluntly, ungrateful for their presence distracting his concentration. With all this, Slothstar is a bit secretive. He shares little information outside of the medicine cats and his deputy allowing them to do most of the talking while he runs the clan from inside his den.

Slothstar enjoys a fair mix of privacy and socialization. Depending on the day he will decide for the clan which he's in the mood for. When he wants socialization, he's outside his den running patrols, hunting, and chatting around camp. When he wants privacy, he's either inside his den or wandering the territory alone.

Questions are the enemy of a perfect story. Slothstar isn't a fan of questions. They poke too much for the truth. He also isn't a fan of the jungle birds. They look very dramatically fancy (vibrant colors and all). They squawk annoyingly loud and randomly. All very triggering to him. Babblers are also one of the worst. Getting trapped listening to cats talk on and on is a waste of his time more often then not. Not the biggest fan.

Thanatophobia: the fear of death. The only thing that helps with coping with his fear is the fact that he has nine lives before he's dead.. Just don't mention that that means he'll die nine times.

Well, well.. perfect little prince we have here. It would be a shame if it were a lie and I told you he's bipolar right? Since cats don't understand conditions like that. Even better if I told you it was all a manipulative smart-ass slothy lie...

the two are obviously not the best for each other but they both care about the clan... in their own unique ways. it's the only way the leadership possibly functions. perhaps the choice the pick his lifelong enemy as deputy won't be a terrible choice... perhaps...

History

Life as a kit is simple. Show affection to your mother. Attack your siblings with excess energy. Beg the clueless apprentices to teach you what they've learned. Get scolded by warriors for attempting to train yourselves unprofessionally. Slothkit experienced every part of it. Excitement built to start his training just like every other kit. Trying to convince the warriors to train him secretly as a kit never worked though sadly. Finally, he turned 6 moons and was named Slothpaw.

Apprenticeship was a classic mix of learning and practicing the skills required to be a warrior. The apprentice lifestyle was exactly what he lived by. Hunt. Fight. Feed the elders. Teach the kits. On session when he was teaching a litter of young kits to fight, one was gravely injured. Rather then taking the blame, he blamed the kit's sibling. Still he was scolded but never faced consequences when the injured kit was killed.

Following the accident, Slothpaw was extremely down in the dumps mentally. His mind wandered between surviving for the clan and killing himself out of guilt for the kit. A few nights later, he wandered the forest alone, the first time of many. The trips in the dark became a habit that helped clear his mind from the darkness of his thoughts over the nights. Completely unrelated (wink), a kit from the same litter was killed by a snake.

Despite the chaotic deadly apprenticeship, Slothpaw completed his finally assignment and aged out of apprenticeship. Even though he wasn't the fastest cat, the strongest cat, or the best hunter in the clan, he still received his name at his warrior ceremony: Slothtree.

Life as a warrior is as expected. Who da thunk? Hunt. Sunbath. Eat. Clean fur. Practice fighting. Go on patrol. Sleep. Repeat.

Moons later, the clan deputy retired from old age and Slothtree was chosen as the new deputy of the clan due to his groundedness and calm demeanor. The first few moons he saw the responsibility in a positive light. The longer he bared the responsibility, the longer it stressed him out. Along with it, the memories from his apprenticeship came flooding back. His mind spiraled but he hid things from the clan. Instead of giving up like his spiral pressured, he decided to fight back and prove his worth to the clan and to himself.

Being a good deputy wasn't enough, he needed to prove to himself that he was worthy. Five moons after being selected as the deputy, he created a plan: have the leader sacrifice a life for him. The plan was placed into motion and very quickly succeeded; but, there was a fatal flaw: it was the leaders last life. Slothtree had to reveal to his clan that the leader was dead. His mind raced but he decided to not reveal the fact it was staged: not his first and not his last life.

Slothtree soon went to receive his nine lives and was named Slothstar, leader of PoisonClan. His first choice was naming a deputy, his choice was Velvetheart. The tomcat was younger but loved the clan, and he was the sibling of the kit he'd killed. While the tensions were there as warriors, they were inflamed when the two became leader and deputy. His mindset: keep the only one that knows the truth closer to you so they can't destroy you.

Now, it's five moons later. Fresh leader. Fresh deputy. A strong rivalry. And a mental game. How will things play out?

Cat Breed: Ragdoll

Ragdoll cats have unique and distinctive face patterning. Along with that, they are known for having blue eyes. They are large and weighty cats known for semi-long silky fur. Male cats weigh around 12 to 20 pounds while female cats weigh around 7.9 to 15 pounds. They can live from anywhere between 12 years to 17 years (144 moons to 204 moons).

while their time together was short, velvetheart (velvetkit) loved his sister like anything else. they played together, explored together, and annoyed their mother as much as possible together. in his eyes, she left the world from a preventable accident when an apprentice tried to teach two moon old kits how to fight. he despises the wreckless tomcat that caused his sisters death.

despite the fact that amberkit caused the injuries that led to moonkits death, velvetheart doesn't blame him. he enjoyed their time together and saw the incident as a total accident. tragically, his brother was killed by a snake that snuck inside the queen's den. gone far too soon.
