these books all have multiple versions of the paperback showing (same content) so need merging into one version for each book.
if it matters the correct version with the correct cover is the primary one listed on my author page.

Were the mostly black covers temporary placeholders or were the books published with them?

I'm not sure why someone advised you to post in this folder because the merges were already done by the other librarians in your other threads that I saw. Maybe they misunderstood.
However I have updated all of your Kindle covers. You can choose those to be the default if you wish.

Anyone who has a paperback edition with an older cover would want to shelve that one on Goodreads, that's why they don't allow physical editions to be merged. Since people's Kindles can update the covers they let us change them on those.

sorry for being such a pain I'm just new and still learning how it all works.
I'm assuming i was told to ask here because all my duplicate paperbacks have the same ISBN so assumed they could be merged into one correct edition

is that correct/ possible? or do they just stay as they are? thank you!

As Emily explained, Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers on the site, as readers want to shelve the cover of the copy they have. Therefore, we don't merge paperback editions unless they have the same cover and we don't change the cover for paperback editions, we create Alternate Cover Editions (ACEs).
